Premise for Wordpress - Sales Page and Copywriting Theme?

Howdy Warriors,

I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the Wordpress theme called Premise. It's similar to optimize press in the way that it has built in graphics to help easily design landing pages but the thing I'm most interested about is the copywriting feature.

It says on the website:
Premise delivers copywriting advice for each type of landing page directly from your Wordpress interface, so you get better while getting things done.

Apparently it has templates for short copy and long copy and because I have a hard time coming up with ideas and writing copy I think this theme might be useful.

If anyone has it I'd like to know what you think about it? How is the copywriting feature and how are the graphics, etc?

The theme is relatively cheap for unlimited updates its going for $85 but it doesn't say if that's for one domain or for unlimited domains. It also says the price is going up on the 15th so I'd like to get it before then if its worth it.

Looking for feedback. Thanks

Maybe you just need a good sales letter theme plus this...

Ya I guess I just need some sales letter templates instead of buying an entire theme because it offers sample sales letters. The graphics did look pretty good too but I guess there's nothing amazing.

      Thanks

I'm curious- what did you end up doing? Did you buy any templates?

    I've just purchased premise.

    So far...it's ok

    It's not very intuitive.

Pros: You can customize a lot of things...

-Size and colour of headers, body copy and boxes...but they are fixed. Meaning Once you pick something it's fixed in place. I can only really have 2 different style of boxes.

You can also customize width and size of content and boxes quite well

You can add a custom header or remove it completely.

Cons: Things don't appear in the visual editor so you need to look in the source code to figure out if you've boxed something or not.

The tutorials are poor - just plain text mostly with one screen shot here and there.

You can't control the breaks in your main headline or subhead.

Seems you can't blend the templates either...meaning if I wanted use the video template plus a pricing table - forget about it. Templates are set.

Be better if things like the pricing table and side scrolling functions could be used along side the other templates.

IN general...it feels like you need to know quite a bit about designing a website to begin with to really use this tool properly.

The images: some are great but in general I found the variety lacking. I've sen better on some WSO graphics packages. You'd have to see it to understand. The graphics are well made...but it lacked bullets or other options of words on the call to action buttons and the like. There were only a handful of images I personally enjoyed....but you might love them.

Compared to things like optimizepress or profits theme....this tool looks like it has a lot of potential but it really falls short IMHO.

I say try it out and if after a few days decide if it's right for you.

You may not care about the headline limitations...love the templates "as is" and think the images are gangbusters and incredibly versatile. I'm not the most technically savvy guy on the planet so take my personal experience as a grain of salt.

    Hope that helps some.
