Arrow Imnica Mail - Total heroes!

When it comes to unsolicited comments on products and services (as opposed to affiliate reviews), often we only hear moans.

Well, I want to take this opportunity of giving some credit where it is due and sing the praises of
Richelo Killian and all of the guys & gals at Imnica Mail.

A couple of months back, I asked Richelo about a specific problem I had and whether he thought that he could offer a solution. I was sure that many people would be having the same issue as I was.

I have a site based on the Wordpress platform which attracts a good deal of subscribers each day. The problem was that I had no way of adding them to a list with a proper autoresponder service. I had to use the wordpress registration to enable the subscriber to use the functionality of the site.

I had tried using PHPList to e-mail them but that was frowned upon most severely by my hosting. Also, I had to do manual imports as none of the generic plug-ins out there to synchronise the WP submission form to an autoresponder list worked.

Richelo said that he would pass it to his development team.

In the meantime the Imnica Mail team have been working round the clock to make important upgrades to their service which has included implementing faster systems and bringing some powerful new servers online. This has taken many, many man-hours. So I had kind of forgotten about the plug-in, thinking that it would be a back-burner project until they were done upgrading.

This morning I got a mail from Richelo saying that the plug in is available.

I installed it and it works like a charm.

So I wanted to say thanks to the Imnica team for superb customer support at a very busy time.

Also, for all of those running article directories, membership sites or other types of Wordpress-based sites where people need to subscribe - here is a way to also get those subscribers added to your list.

PS I just noticed that this was my 500th post on WF. Damn - I should have given something away...maybe on 1000

Where is the plugin located? I definitely need this.

I like Imnica very much. I've had a few glitches here and there but Richelo is always working on making things better.

Here is the plug-in download page. It's a freebie, BTW

Richelo is a nice guy and good to work with, but I'm not getting why you needed a plugin for this. I just placed a text widget in my sidebar and pasted in my Imnica sign up code.

What am I missing?

He didn't just want an optin box.

He wanted an auto-add to list function so when people register for your site, they are also being added to your email list.

I feel bad that I've never checked this company out.

The owner is also one of these guys that lives anywhere he can place his laptop - which is what I do

James is correct. I needed people to subscribe to the actual site to use the functionality of the site, but I also wanted to be able to contact these people by e-mail regularly.

For small numbers, there are systems and plug-ins to do that within Wordpress and, as I mentioned before, there is PHPLIst which is a free self-hosted e-mail marketing program.

The problem comes when you get to large numbers of people to contact. Mass e-mailing is against the TOS of many hosting companies so that rulesout PHPList and many of the Wordpress sytems use your ISP's SMTP server and they don't like you doing that, obviously.

So now, with this plug in, every new subscriber to my WP based site is added to my list automatically.

This would not be so important on a normal blog as one could just do as you did, Dennis, and get rid of the WP blog subscription stuff and add the Imnica code in a widget/slide up/pop up instead.

this is the awrighty .... cool, will use it soon ... Although having though time with imnica but they are getting better and better each day. I've used aweber, getresponse, and those 2 are the big players of autoresponder, but I like the interface of imnica better than any other autoresponder.

Congrats on designing good display imnica.

Also, Richelo will reply when you send him PM, I did this quite a lot when I got trouble with imnica and he replied back. Good service.

James
Does the auto-add function work when a user registers via a "connect with facebook" button?

As long as the user get's added to the WP user database, then yes.

This plugin is intended to interface with all WP membership scripts, which still adds the user to the WP user DB.

If the register with FB button adds the user to the WP user DB, then, no problem at all.

Thanks for the fast response mate, what do YOU think of using a "connect with facebook" button to build a list instead of a traditional opt in box?

Hey, it's even better than I thought. That means integrating lists with membership sites using WP with Fast Profits Theme or OptimizePress

BAD idea, unless it's a double opt-in list.

What about integration with Clickbank, ejunkie and 2Checkout?

It's a cracking idea. It could work with double opt in.

Also I think that there is a pop up when using the connect with Facebook system which the subscriber has to tick which says that they allow certain access to their FB account and have emails to be sent to them

Someone (Alexander Shelton, I think) is marketing a system called Social Squeezer which does this but its $247 full price but I think he does it for $97 on what may be a false scarcity deal.

The theory behind this being that you will get i) More opt-ins as people will click whereas they may be reluctant to fill out the fields and ii) you get an e-mail address whach is more likely to be one that is checked more freqently.

So here's a way of saving $247

Make your squeeze page on WP, install the imnica plug in and put the connect with Facebook button where the opt-in form would normally go.

Richelo - maybe your developers could make a similar system utilising the facebook button as their next project - with double opt in... Could be big.

Yeah Barry, I think it's definitely the way to go, my only problem is getting a sexy looking button to go exactly where I want it. (Check my blog, the button I've got is crap)

Which is why I am interested in Social Squeezer - as long as it registers WP accounts, if this happens, I don't give a stuff which ARs it supports or doesn't support - I got the Imnica plugin!

Quick question,

I've not had the chance to try the plugin with DAP, Digital Access Pass, and wondered if anyone has done so successfully.

Also Richelo, are there any plans to implement the "Subscribe by Email" that Ravi mentions below.

Thanks,

Brian

No, not yet.

We're hoping the Imnica folks will at some point implement a simple "Subscribe by Email" feature, that would then make integrating with them a total breeze.

very interested in this one too. We started creating another DAP membership and planning to use Imnica on this one.

Where is their delivery stands compared to Aweber and GetResponse?
There are complaints in many forums, that the delivered mails get into Spam folders most of thetimes than Aweber and Getresponse.
They don't allow importing of already double opted list from other sources.
What is average CTR of their mail openings.
Do they have own masked links for downloads, referrals like aweber and getresponse?
Do they allow split testing and tracking?
