Aweber vs The Others... Is there a better option?

I recently removed the iCONTACT subscription widget from my site because it pissed me off (result-wise). The graphics wasn't something that impressed me and it was the only thing people complained about. Now I'm on the look out for a new autoresponder. I have researched Aweber and found them to be very good... But is there a better option out there?

You can use mailchimp, it's easy to use and it's free. Great for a starter.

Yeah. But they don't accept affiliate links which is not something I think I like.

MailChimp doesn't accept a whole lot more than just "affiliate links".

Anyone thinking about using Mailchimp might want to take a very careful look through all the other threads here about them, and see how many Warriors have built up lists there and lost them suddenly, for not having read/understood the terms of service.

Some report that they've had their accounts closed down "in the night" and then subsequently been unable even to get a reply to an inquiry about it (Mailchimp later commenting that "customer support is only for people who are still customers").

All the following are prohibited there (terms of service, section 11f):-

        • Illegal goods or services
        • Escort and dating services
        • Pharmaceutical products
        • Work from home, Internet Lead-gen, Make money on online opportunities, etc.
        • Online trading, day trading tips, or stock market related content
        • Gambling services, products or gambling education
        • Multi-level marketing
        • Affiliate marketing
        • Credit repair, get-out-of-debt content
        • Mortgages and/or Loans
        • Real estate prospecting or listing

Free was tempting, but these are the reasons I decided to go ahead and purchase an aweber account.

Aweber or GetResponse are probably the best way to go these days. Personally I am using Aweber at the moment.

Expensive - yes - but you get what you pay for and IMHO Aweber is worth everything that you pay for it.

            Just my thoughts,
            Jeff.

    Manuelcrc,
There are lots of options available to you...

You may want to take a look at Infusionsoft as well to see if that might suit your needs.

I think each of them have their own strong points and certainly all of them have weak points as well.

    All the best,

Imnica mail is what I use. It's lower priced but has everything you will need. I would avoid the free autoresponders if you are a serious marketer.

I found that inserting affiliate links to autoresponder messages do not convert well. The conversion rate is higher for me when I actually get people to reply to my emails, AND THEN, I talk to them and eventually get them to go to an affiliate link.

I have used GetResponse and iCONTACT before, but went back with Aweber.

Infusionsoft is very good for segmenting your market and tagging and tracking. Deliverability is outstanding also. They do not have a widget as far as I know so if you want a nice looking opt-in form, you're going to have to do it manually. They also had the biggest learning curve of all the ar's I've tried.

I'm not using them anymore just because of the price and have gone back to icontact. I've used aweber also and between these two I like them both, I just had two people tell me icontact had slightly better deliverability. Aweber did have the easiest learning.

I have also tried 1shoppingcart and getresponse, and would say these are not as good as aweber and icontact IMHO. Still there are some big names that use them and they do "all right".

I used Aweber in the past...

I now use Imnica and Mailchimp.

I use Mailchimp for my buyers list (b/c it integrates with my delivery company) and no probs yet, but I back up my lists often just in case but thats a good idea to do anyways no matter what AR you use.

    Good Luck

I've been using Imnica for my mailing list; however, my last WSO launch the service was very slow to respond and I got quite a few people contacting me because they had not received the auto responder email I setup for my WSO.

So I signed up for Aweber and going to try using it on my next WSO I am releasing soon. After I see the results from the auto responder I setup I will make a decision of which service to keep.

I think there is a reason why a lot of top IM marketers use Aweber. Just saying!

      Mike,

If you read their TOS, they are not affiliate marketing friendly AT ALL.

If you plan on promoting any product that you do not own to your list, then you run the risk of losing your account and your list.

      ^^^
There is something wrong with them, very wrong with them.

If you're using them exclusively, back up your lists frequently.

Personally I use Aweber and have done so for the last 5+ years. What I like about them is they get through the majority of the spam filters, which means more subscribers get to see my emails... which means more effective campaigns. I've built a list of 40,000+ subscribers with Aweber and find it way easier to use than 1ShoppingCart. I also love how easily you can run 4x split-tests with each broadcast with Aweber.

Hope that helps and talk soon,

    David.

I have used a few services and even tried running scripts on my servers to do the job. And after all of that I ended up using Aweber.

Aweber has hands down the best deliverability in my experience. They also have great support. They are not the cheapest but they are the best value for money IMO.

Time and again, I've heard people say a lot of good things about iContact and ImnicaMail but I'm signed up to lists that use both those auto-responders. Surprisingly, almost every mail that I receive goes to spam. I don't find that a quality of an effective auto-responder. Whereas I've signed up for numerous Aweber lists and not even one of them till date has gone to spam. Every mail from Aweber directly reaches the inbox. I don't know about GetResponse. Apart from Aweber, the only other auto-responder with the same level of effectiveness is MailChimp.

I don't have a credit card and Aweber does not accept paypal so I'm kinda stuck with my email marketing plans at the moment. Sending them a check via FedEx and Aramex is costing me more than the monthly charges of using Aweber.

I am on several Aweber lists, and trust me, when the content is bad, they DO go to spam.

Just because us ESP's spends hours per day, and MANY thousands of $'s to stay on the good side of the major ISP's, does NOT mean that ANY junk will just go to the Inbox.

As the old saying goes .... Junk in, junk out.

If the content of the email is crap, it WILL go to spam, and NOTHING we can do about it.

So, just because something lands in the spam folder, does NOT mean the ESP is at fault. We COULD be, but, 1st start with the content.

I vote for Imnica! Fast support, they're always updating their customers AND they're reasonably priced. Do you want 500 leads for $20 a month? or up to 5,000 for $9? no brainer in my opinion. And the content of your email matters always. I tried GetResponse. Went back to Imnica. That should tell you something right there.

I've used Aweber, iContact and MailChimp.

I really liked MailChimp but they have really gotten tough against Internet Marketing and Affiliate Marketing.

I don't really like the interface of iContact so only did a test run with it.

Aweber is really the best so far in my opinion. Easy to use interface and it just works fantastically for IM.

I currently use Aweber, icontact and also goldbar1.

Aweber is probably used by most internet marketers. Only problem is that you can't import list's into aweber. Now icontact is better if you already have a list and you want to import them into an autoresponder. The only downfall is that once you go over your list quota, icontact will not send any messages until you upgrade. Now these two companies do not give you your own dedicated ip address.

Which brings me to goldbar1. This company allows you to import your list's. You do get a dedicated ip address. Which is good because your in control of getting your ip warm up for email deliverability.

In conclusion each has its pros and cons. The cheapest is icontact and the most expensive is goldbar1.
