Google analytics is NOT accurate!

Hi warriors, just wanted to tell a story here about google analytics. They do not deliver correct numbers of a visitors!
You may ask me how did i realize this?

Simply looking (and comparing) analytics-vs adsense accounts (of a past days) it all displays the number of VISITORS and 50% of a time it`s different, and it shouldn`t be.

Also i have watched webinar from Howie (serious internet marketer), and it all was about how inaccurate google is in its tools - especially in demographic section. Cant recall exactly what was the statements, but they were obvious.
Thank you!

Depends How far Adsense Code is and Analytics's is. For example if Adsense codes if first and they leave but the Code for adsense has been executed by the browser , but the analytics's code has Not. Their is a twenty topics on this Online , Just think before you Post , all you have to do was Google it.

I can live with the inaccuracies considering the price and think it gives me a pretty good overall idea of how many visitors I am getting.

There are many alternatives: Google Analytics Alternatives and Similar Software - AlternativeTo.net but a lot of them are not cheap.

I sometimes notice a difference, based on my adwords, but it usually catches up with itself.

Judge a student by the questions he asks, not the answers he gives.

The right question to ask is why would analytics show different figures to an adsense account?

Could it be that adsense will only show ads that have been served? Could it be that not all pages will show the ad? Could it be that some antivirus programs together with IE will block adsense from showing?

As Benny Hill use to say .. never assume. You can only make an ass out of u and me.

Yeah I ran an Adwords campaign a couple years ago and Google Analytics didn't record alot of the clicks that GOOGLE said that I had paid for. So yeah... it's inaccurate.

If you build your robots.txt file correctly, and really monitor your logs... Awstats can be pretty cool.

If you're running Wordpress there are some plugins that you can install that are pretty cool too (statpress is one), but just know that you may not find any tracking "tool" that's 100% accurate. Spiders and bots can skew your numbers, which is why I really pay attention to my robots.txt file.
