Is AWEBER worth the money? Mail Chimp Better?

I am just wondering if aweber is worth the money to you? Or would it be better to use something like mail chimp or a free autoresponder service?

I have never tried mail chimp so I can't say.

However, Aweber is a must have for me. I hardly made any sales and struggled before I started list building.

The Aweber interface is very easy to navigate and it isn't that expensive. I feel like it is a must for anyone serious about IM...

    Just my two cents...

Aweber provides a 30 day trial so you could try it and see how you like it. I personally like it is very user friendly and they provide alot of tools to help you learn the system.

  • I don't know of any free options that would have the same tools and could do all the same things, especially in regards to your emails actually getting into the mailboxes, rather than being sent straight to spam.

Also, Mailchimp doesn't allow their services to be used for affiliate marketing and such anymore.

Aweber offers so many features that I found it to be somewhat confusing and difficult to learn. However, they do offer free training webinars on specific topics several times each week and those I found to be excellent.

The price is definitely affordable for starting out ($20 /month?)

And, I understand that aweber's emails actually get through to people and don't end up in the spam folders because they're trusted.

Well, Aweber is worth it if you earn enough to cover the cost (and most WF posters I've seen discuss it do-- and much more). However, a beginner needs to take the expense into consideration, I believe. While they offer a 1 month free trial, most startups are not going to earn anything from their list the first month. Depending on your product and other factors, it might take 3 months to start making more than the $20/mo. And allowing for some screwups on your part, I'd give it 6 months to be sure. Thus, conservatively, you'd need to have $160 ready to invest before the Aweber subscription begins paying for itself. That's something to consider when starting out.

One thing you want to do before subscribing to Aweber, though, is to have ready products (or affiliate arrangements) and email series ready for immediate use. It's a good idea to have a full 50 week's worth of emails prepared when starting an email marketing campaign.

However, once you have one email series paying for your autoresponder, you can add additional lists/series to your account at no extra cost. Added cost only comes with increased subscriber counts.

Like everything else in life, pareto principle or 80/20 rule applies, and the more you use the better you will become. I have used others before aweber, to me aweber wins hand down. ... it is so easy to use.

A paid service is usually the better option to go with due to terms and delivablity. Getresponse offer you a limited free service for your first 100 subscribers and aweber offers you your first month for $1.

Yes, AWeber is worth the money. Mailchimp is free for less than 2000 subscribers (but they don't allow Affiliate promotion emails)

A friend of mine used Mail Chimp for his list of folks (he directed a trail race, so his list consisted of people that ran or wanted to run his race once it filled up) and it was all right until he tried to upgrade to a paid account. Then it was a nightmare.

I've had good experience with aweber, although I'm starting to transition to infusionsoft.

I bought my account before I was bringing in any money; I minimized the cost by just buying a year up front and then giving myself a year to start making that money, which was plenty of time. (Hey, gotta invest in your business, still cheaper than brick & mortar...)

It's a lot easier to just start out with Aweber than to try to move your list to them later when you get sick of other email marketing providers.

I have been with Aweber for years now, and have been very happy with them. I don't find them hard to use, and if there is a question, their support team is very helpful.

I think it would be good to start with them if you feel you're in this for the long haul. Then you won't have to worry about moving over another list at some point, and having everyone have to opt in again.

    Hi,

I started using Infusionsoft for a new client and hate it. It took 27 steps to create an autoresponder series of five messages. Their training videos suck and they do not use industry standard terms. Navigating their interface is a nightmare.

As many of you who follow my email newsletter are aware, I recently switched my email marketing provider from mailchimp over to Aweber and I thought that it would be interesting to compare the two services. For all of you who are not doing email marketing for your business, you really should consider doing so. Having an email list or newsletter is the best way to mobilize your audience to take action. It’s also a great way to maintain an active community of readers/customers for your site. In any case, this post is not about trying to convince you to use an email marketing provider, but if you are in the market for one, this review may help you out.

There are now a number of email services that provide pretty much the same or similar services. Aweber is a very comprehensive service. You just don't get the support with a free service, and you end up with advertisements that distract from your email efforts.

The only thing I have ever used is Aweber and I love it yeah its $19.99 a month but the support and features you get are well worth it in my opinion. Best thing is to try them all out if you can and see which one suits your needs best who knows the free ones might be fine. But what is good for someone isnt always good for you.
