Imnica Integration - DPD - Help!

Hey Warriors,

I use Imnica (they rock) and I also use DPD (DPD Shopping Cart | The Easy Way to Sell Downloads, Keycodes, and Tangible Goods) to deliver my products after purchase.

For those who aren't familiar with it, DPD is similar to services like DLGuard and DeliverMyFile...

I love both Imnica & DPD but I really need them to work together.

I have contacted both parties about it and they are kinda lazy about it (can't blame them, I know they are busy)...

DPD acts like they are scared to contact Imnica, lol. I even went as far as to find the Imnica API info and send it to DPD but they said it still wasn't enough...

As it is I have to send the buyers to an opt-in after purchase, which is fine for the IM niche, but other niches don't understand why they have to opt-in or have trouble with simple stuff like that...

So can any tech peeps out there help me with this?

Here is the recent email I got from DPD about this:

================================================== =======
Jacob: Coby, May-04 15:09 (EDT):Coby,
We do not currently support Imnica. I responded to your previous support ticket - the API information you sent wasn't enough for us to add an integration and we have been unable to find any documentation on their site about how to integrate with their system.

One option would be to use the notification URL feature and hook up a script on your server that would add your customer to the list. We send the buyer's email and name in the notification parameters.

You could also replace your current buy now button with a link to the opt-in form. Once they complete (or skip) the opt-in, send them to the DPD buy now URL which will then allow them to complete the purchase.
And, as you mentioned, the return URL can send your customers to the opt-in form once they start a download.
================================================== =======

Their suggestion was to send them to an opt-in form first before purchase... I tried this on a niche site (non-IM) and it absolutely killed the conversions... I admit too, it looks kinda scammy to ask for the opt-in first, but I thought I would test that option...

Any help with this? Maybe suggest how to make a script like they are talking about to integrate them?

Maybe Richelo will drop in and shed some light on this...

Thanks for the help

(p.s. I sent them a somewhat nasty reply letter for being lazy and not updating me on this also)

    Hi Coby,

Pity that they are so lazy around this. We would love to work with them to integrate.

They mention this though: One option would be to use the notification URL feature and hook up a script on your server that would add your customer to the list. We send the buyer's email and name in the notification parameters.

I'll have one of my dev team whip up a script to handle this. It will be crude, and you will need to edit the script to input your Imnica Mail username and password, but, it will work.

One thing though, their notification url thing ... I will need an example of it, and it HAS to pass the ORIGINAL signup IP!

Please open a ticket with us to take this further, and also get the example from DPD on what they will pass, and how they will pass it.

Thanks Richelo! I will do this now :-)

Sure is good to use a company run by another IMer... You understand

Coby- I'm sorry for the confusion, please let me clear up a couple things here.

Any new features we decided to add to DPD today will be behind 2-3 months of new features that we're currently working on. This means that if it was approved today it wouldn't be ready for months as we complete other projects that are already actively being developed (including merchant account support, new cart and checkout, a new integrations system to support requests like this, etc).

Jacob was attempting to give you a way to integrate with Imnica without waiting for our development cycle by using our IPN system that we developed for just this sort of case. If this came off as lazy or dismissive I apologize- that wasn't our intent.

That said, we'd be happy to do anything we can to assist Richelo and his devs with integrating with DPD using our IPN system.

The IPN documentation can be found here: IPN Notification URL : DPD Help Desk (we do send the buyer IP)

Richelo, if you or your devs need a test account with DPD we'd be happy to oblige- simply sign up for a trial account with an @imnicamail.com email address, send us a support ticket, and I'll comp a paid subscription for your use and make sure you get hooked up with a DPD developer to get any questions you may have addressed.

Likewise, if you need a field added to the IPN system or some other minor change, I'll do my best to get one of our devs to patch it out on live and get the integration going.

No the laziness was felt when I asked about this before several months ago and I was forced to do the research myself and find the API for y'all and the only response I got back was the API wasn't enough information and I was left wondering...

I'm not a techy person, thats why I have tools like yours to help me... If I was smart enough to figure out a script to integrate Imnica with DPD I'd just make a script to deliver the product while in the process...

We have discussed this over email several times... If you had take my suggestions when I suggest them then based on your time line the integration would be complete....

      Just sayin...

I love DPD and recommend to everyone, but as a growing company you should stay on top of trends...

And Imnica Mail is one of those trends that are here to stay...

In order to try to fit within your system I used Mail Chimp for my buyers list and ended up losing a few buyers after mail chimp found out I was an affiliate marketer...

So stop the excuses, you dropped the ball, no biggie pick it up and run with it... I'll still be here

When Imnica really blows up you'll be glad you integrated with them... and while your at it yall should take a look at iContact and GetResponse too

Can anyone (Coby/Richard/dpd) please post the solution to this integration problem?

I am going completely nuts trying to integrate e-junkie with imnica and will happily switch to dpd if they can integrate. While I got my partner to try to code the api it didn't work... and while Richard has been nice about responding to my freaked-out PM, my Imnica support tickets still have "unassigned" ownership for almost 4 days now.

DPD's Imnica integration will be going out in the next 24 hours and we'll make a blog post letting everyone know it's live.

We've been delayed by an overhaul of our shopping cart and a complete rewrite of the entire integration system that has taken much longer than we thought, but we're cranking out integrations in the order they've been requested now. We released GetResponse yesterday, Imnica should go out this afternoon, and iContact and Vertical Response are soon to follow.

Congrats Coby and Chance on getting that sorted -
I have similar issue with Imnica and Sitemanpro - part of an email from Imnica support

If they(Sitemanpro) only support autoresponders that sign up via email, THEN it would be a issue because we do not support that feature.

I have sent a few emails to support at Sitemanpro without response so would be interested to learn how it can be done

    cheers
