Justhost VS Hostgator?

I am currently at Justhost for all my websites, but am thinking about moving all my websites and addon domains to Hostgator.

I guess it is a lot of trouble that I have to go through to move all my sites and their contents to hostgator. Is this a smart option, or should I just stick with Justhost?

I want to be with one of the biggest and well known hosting sites to ensure the stability of my internet business.

Anyone who have experience with any of these hosting companies?

THanks.

I've used Hostgator and all I have is great things to say about it.

The service is priced well, it has cpanel, it is easy to use... but that is not the biggest selling point to me. The customer and tech support is EXCELLENT! The reps always stay with you long enough to make sure you understand the solutions and have fixed your issues. They have tons of videos they can link you to if you are having trouble doing something. Any issue I had, they helped me through it and stayed with me until it was fixed and their instructions were always easy to understand.

Surely this would be better asked in the Internet Marketing Product Reviews & Ratings forum?

My site is with JustHost and it keeps on going down or slowing down - the support team takes ages to get back to you and then says there is no problem.

The following is not a push for a service as I have no connection to them other than signing up

Thanks for all the insightful comments so far.

So, how much trouble would I have to go through to transfer all my domains etc?

HostGator will transfer your sites over from JustHost to your Hostgator cPanel account for you. All you'll have to do is create a full cPanel backup of your JustHost cPanel account and upload it to you new HostGator home directory. From there request that HostGator restore the backup for you and you'll be all set. Best of luck to you!

I am a Hostgator fan. I have been with two other companies and hands down they win. Customer support is unmatched. I have spent over an hour with a chat technician at one time to help with a Wordpress problem even though that is beyond what their scope is.

I would recommend getting a VPS. Not necessary, but then you can have a unique IP rather than a shared one.

    Both

    Hostgator
I can't really fault them for services etc., except for one thing - support. Although there is a ticket support system 24/7, if it's a more complex problem, you can only call Freefone from USA

    JustHost
All my sites/blogs are with JusHost now, because I have found the support excellent at any time, and I can call Free from the UK.

I think it's a geographical thing here. My recommendation would be:

    Hostgator if you're in the Americas time zone;
JustHost if you're in the UK/European zone.

It's when things go wrong for you and you need help that the leaders in service rise to the surface. Whenever I have needed their help they have provided exceptional service. This is a very professional company that sets the benchmark for customer service.

I have been with Hostgator for years and will be with them for many more.

I am confident that if you make the move you will never regret it; and they will make your move easy for you too!

I have both JustHost and Hostgator accounts and dealing with tech support issues have been quick and easy chat with hostgator problem solved in minutes. On the other hand when I had a problem with JustHost, chat went nowhere and it was almost 36 hours before the problem was solved. I haven't really had any problems other then one small setup issue each. I just added a Hostgator reseller account and that has been fun setting up, I am very grateful for their chat support it took him 5 minutes to point out the two periods I was missing, I just wish I had asked for help a few hours earlier. My thoughts are they are both good I just prefer Hostgator's tech support.
