Alternatives to Clickbank?

Ah man sounds like some tough biz!

I was actually just referred to this website, basically like clickbank except there's no payout threshold. You make a sale for $20 it goes straight to your paypal account. No waiting for payouts, it's slowly growing. I'd definitely keep an eye on it

CJ is definitely a pretty good alternative to CB... but I've never had a problem with CB, though, it's good to diversify a bit.

RAPBank is a nice alternative.

Plimus is also another alternative, and it seems to be a relatively good one at that

I don't think that clickbank bother with the dormant account rule too much and if you haven't experienced an affiliate sale through them in 90 days then, it's time to promote different products.

Did you write this just to get in a quick post?

Take a mooch around and you will find loads of people being robbed of their income - LOADS!

My friend has several accounts and this has happened on those that (particularly in one case), are mostly getting payments by PayPal. This account actually has over $8400 locked in. He can't get his money because there aren't enough 'qualifying' credit cards.

You shouldn't have to need to swtch products or services because your bank has greedy, selfish rules. You should be able to move on to more products and continue to let the old ones earn some money.

Or do you want to write a letter to Clickbank saying, "Please Mr Clickbank, may I possibly get any money I've earned, even if it's only little, and from whatever source?"

Hey Alan,
You know...Clickbank has it's advantages...but it has a lot of disadvantages also. I know for many...it's a cost thing for wanting to have a mechanism to have affiliates promote on the cheap...and receipt of instant commissions, etc.
But, overall, I feel one is probably better off hooking up into nanacast, or another shopping cart to handle affiliate stuff.
Not saying you can't do great on clickbank. I'm just saying everything has pluses and minuses, and it's a tough choice sometimes.

I'm not being a smartass or anything, just have an honest question...

What would he be selling that would bring in $4800, but not get 5 different credit cards? I suppose it could be something VERY high priced. Just curious. It's odd to see an amount that high and not have 5 different credit cards.

I checked with him.

It's a mixture of $97 - $47 sales across just under 300 sales. Allowing for 26 refunds, that's about 271 sales total.

Payments? Matercard 0, VISA 64, PayPal 207.

Paypal doesn't count, and with no MC sales the VISA only sales do not qualify for the ruling.

I think you're missing the point though. You've sold a product, even one; you've been 'paid', you should get YOUR money.

Some of this money is over a year old, and as sales are gradually slowing down, if they stop.

Clickbank treats it as a 'dormant account', and starts helping itself to your money!

Anyone agree, or is it just me being picky, and wanting my "bank' to let me withdraw my hard earned cash? :confused:

I really appreciate you starting this thread. I'm also looking for an affiliate solution and CB (after being with them as an affiliate and seeing my money still sitting there) doesn't impress me really. I don't actually sell a lot via them because it seems such a hassle.

I want to make it as painless and easy as possible for my affiliates to get their money and I agree, if affiliates take the time to promote the products and sell them they shouldn't have to put up with the restrictions that the likes of CB has.

And I really don't get their stance on the way people pay because obviously no other affiliate payment process seems to have this issue.

I've also seen debits on my CB account - they are tiny but still. :confused:

Apart from the mass exposure of a product I'm not quite sure what the benefit is to being a vendor with CB? Maybe I'm missing something. I'm just thinking of my future affiliates. Cuz it's no fun waiting to be paid.

Anyway cheers Alan. I'm looking at the options that people have presented to you here.

I'm not trying to come in here to pick a fight, but something just doesn't seem right with this.

Here is Clickbank's official customer distribution requirement, which is what is allegedly causing the withholding of payments (this is straight from Clickbank's website here - https://www.clickbank.com/accounting.html#A15):

ClickBank will withhold payment of any account balance until the following criteria is met:

Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers; and,
Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or European Direct Debit(ELV)). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.

So something isn't adding up. Either this person has raised their payment threshold from the $100 default, or these numbers aren't accurate.

With over 300 PayPal and Visa transactions, there is mathematically no way that they can't come from 5 or less different credit card numbers. It's just not possible.

Like I said, I am not intending to pick a fight here, but something just doesn't make sense.

Alan,

Choosing an affiliate network really depends on what
your objectives are.

If you want to get the widest possible exposure to a
large group of affiliates then Clickbank may be the
best choice for you. However, to be really successful
with Clickbank you need to invest in actively recruiting
affiliates rather than waiting for them to come to you.

If getting immediate access to your cash and paying your
affiliates with the minimum amount of fuss, then your best
bet is Andy Fletcher's DigiResults closely followed by an
investment in the RAP script plus submitting your products
to RAP Bank.

Josh Anderson's Nanacast is another good choice if you need
extended functionality such as member management.

As in all things, it's critical that you take the time to write
a specification and then find a solution that most closely
matches your specific needs.

Daniel is quite right. There has been a serious misrepresentation of Clickbank's policy in this thread. Clickbank requires payments from five different credit CARDS, not TYPES of card.
