Tissa,
My question would be - what do people get for the $29.95/mo. subscription? If you actually provided some type of value there it would be worthwhile and the rest of the system would work properly.

After 3 months (first one's free) I can see NO traffic and no sales. I understand that I can do promotion myself but if the person who designed the system takes my $30 a month and can't even provide enough traffic for me to make that much back it doesn't build my confidence in the business model.

Multiple requests for a refund fall on deaf ears.

Hello dlmartin,

The membership payment is for three things called the Tissa Trio which are:
1) 100% Display rate for your Search Engine - meaning you will get the credit each time when ppl get search results from your search engine. If your display rate is 65%, then not always your affiliate links are shown in your search engine, so u will be missing out on some commissions.

2) Full Access to Tissa' s GDI "Secret" Sign-up Sauce Ingredients - meaning if u turn it on, your referrals on step 2 will get only GDI as a hosting company. That can result in more GDI sign ups for u.

3) Your "Super Affiliate Switch offered as a FREE BONUS - after u qualify for your Super Affiliate switch to be flipped, you will be able to put in the Hostgator ID at Add/Edit ID tab to get the massive commissions from Hostgator.

Promoting the search engine isn't the only way to make money with Acme program (currenty there are 7 income streams, but in the near future there will be implemented another one). You still have GDI residual income stream, and your 3 referral links, to promote the bussiness oportunity.

The Step 3 payment is optinal, you can cancel it within 30 days after sign up. Well its better u spend those 29.95$ on learning how to earn at Whealthy affiliate, also there a dozen of free marketing methods that u can use to promote your referral links and your search engine.

You gotta risk it to get the biscuit!

Have a great evening,
Andrew

I signed up for Tissa's program last February and until now no earning even a single cent. This is my first affiliate program I joined so far and I know this is a very good program and perhaps one of the best online because lot of people are benefiting from it. Maybe one of the reason why I don't get anything is focused...I haven't focused on it and didn't do a single thing since then. So I think it's time to act! I envy those people. I don't know but I hope this one will work...I wrote an article about ACME people search a couple of days ago and starts submitting it to different article directories online linking to my blog and to my affiliate site...I also submitted my blog and my affiliate site to Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines. Well, let's wait and see!

Even though you have already invested in the program, you may want to try and find something that interests you, something you can get excited about.

Success will come easier if you believe in your product and it doesn't sound like this is your "thing."
I could be wrong, and if I am I apologize.

I signed up for this program a while back. When I realized I would have to buy another host (GDI), and pay for a monthly subscription, just to be able to participate, I said goodbye. (I already had a HostGator acct)

The market is bloated with "people finders" and the marketing costs to ...
Maybe see some profit was too steep. It is also not a very good vehicle for advertising, as any related niches are bloated as well.

My $$ are best spent elsewhere.

My only costs were a domain name which I parked. It has paid for itself.

as soon as my paypal paid this subscription automatically, I cancel the subscription.
I tried to contact tissa and ask for a refund, but no answer, and it's been months..
I read in the previous post that Alex could get a refund. does anyone know how to get a refund from Tissa?

I am have been with Tissa's program for about a year and it is totally legit. I have made commissions through Clickbank, HD Publishing, MyLife.com, Adsense, but mainly through referral bonuses from Tissa's affiliate program.

My question is this, how could you not know that you would be charged $29.95 a month. When you sign up for the subscription through PayPal it clearly states, "Free for 30 Days, then $29.95 a month".

Here is what I have found from many people posting questions here, on my site, phone calls, etc., many people simply do not understand what they are joining or promoting.

It clearly states in the back office of Acme People Search what the $29.95 a month is for.

This really is an awesome program and Tissa keeps making it better. He created his own forum (not as good as this one) where affiliates are sharing all kinds of great info on how to make more money with Acme People Search and affiliate marketing in general.

Take care all.

Hi Richard,
I test many programs to make recommendations to my clients...I tried his program..I requested a refund 7x and to no avail. I would be careful, study the fine print before investing your hard earned money on his program. Art

This is easily the best program online. Tissa has added GVO as the eighth income stream. I get paid from all income streams. Tissa holds 3 webinars weekly and one meet and greet at his office in Virginia for those who can go and meet him personally.

I met Tissa in Vegas at the PPC Classroom event in May. Tissa is classy and truly cares about his affiliates. His system just keeps getting better. The only thing wrong is people just do not know how to learn how to earn. While that is implemented in his training also many people just do not take action and they blame the system.

I suggest everyone join Tissa Godavitarne today.

Hm...well I did try the Tissa Acme program, unfortunately it wasn't to my style. Although, according to some of the posts here in this thread, I suppose it works for some people, just not for me.

Its too funny how people diss GDI. Just because you were unsuccessful don't mean its a scam. Most people think that money is going to just jump into your bank account. YOU HAVE TO PUT IN WORK WHICH 95% OF THE PUBLIC DON'T DO!!!!!!
Stop blaming GDI for your failures. That goes for any program as they don't work for everybody.

Please read the sig file rules

AffiliateMax, thanks for sharing your opinions. I found it interesting that you said this:

While Kitejunkiee said this:

Also see what Scott Smith had to say over at program-review.com. He documented his experiences using AdWords to promote his people search site. Interesting read.

Don't get me wrong AffiliateMax; I agree with you fully that newbies can get burned using AdWords if they don't know what they are doing. But that's not unique to my program; that applies to anyone who is learning how to use AdWords to promote any product. All the more reason to learn and educate oneself using the resources in your search engine's back office. Remember folks, you have to learn to earn.

About these statements of yours:

How is that different from any other affiliate program? If you promote a popular ClickBank product for example, your hoplink lands on the identical page that thousands of other affiliates are promoting. That doesn't mean there aren't any successful ClickBank affiliates. It means successful affiliates have found ways to distinguish themselves, like preselling via a review site, blog, etc.

I think you miss the point here:

I agree 100% - but then that's no longer affiliate marketing; that's building your own brand and business. One of the reasons people are attracted to affiliate programs is precisely because they DON'T have to build an entire business on their own. That's the beauty of affiliate marketing: Once you've perfected your marketing, you can make a lot of money without spending a lot of time at it. That's usually not the case when you grow your own business from the ground up.

I don't think you read that payments page closely enough:

Not quite. As mentioned on that page, those are the 125 MOST RECENT payments that included the guaranteed commission of $125. Far more than 30 people were paid that day, but they don't appear on the list because they were paid their $125 a while ago. In fact, so far I've paid my affiliates $175,845.00 in commissions, of which $31,500.00 was the guaranteed commission of at least $125. Not sure what you mean by "less the $125 prepayment"; I don't deduct $125 from my users - I give them $125 :-) And how would you know what expenses other folks incur to earn their commissions? The reality is, most users who earn the guaranteed commissions DON'T pay for AdWords advertising - they use free traffic methods (like blogs, Squidoo lenses, YouTube videos, articles, Facebook, Twitter etc.)

Ya, so? Aren't I entitled to make money with the same program I'm providing to others so they can make money? (By the way, I won a Segway from PPC Classroom, and anyone who stops by my office during my weekly meet-and-greets gets to ride it ;-)

This GDI horse has been beaten to death in countless forum threads over the years. Of course there are much cheaper places to register domain names and host Web sites. If that's all you need, then you should definitely go to a place like namecheap.com. I'd be the first one to tell you that. But if you want a residual income opportunity while offering those same services, then go with GDI. Just depends on your objectives.

Again, not true, and I'm proof: GDI has been around since 2000, but I only joined GDI in August of 2008. So as you can imagine, there are a LOT of people above me. Yet I've been able to climb to the top of the GDI Leaderboard in a few months, along with many of my users. (If you're in GDI, you'll recognize my name :-) All you need is a good system to grow your downline, which is exactly what my free referral program offers.

I also want to take this opportunity to respond to Risha222:

You're absolutely right. Lately it has taken MUCH longer than usual to reply to support tickets. It has been unacceptable, and I apologize. With all the success stories, people have been signing up in record numbers, and frankly it's been more than Trish and I can handle. The good news however is that I will be holding near-daily Webinars (with phone support) starting next week. That will make a huge difference in terms of getting timely answers, straight from the horse's mouth - me! (And Risha222, I just updated all the Display Rates so you should be at 100% now :-)

FYI, the next Meet-and-Greet at my office in Herndon, Virginia will be on March 10 - check my Web site for the address and times. I'll also be attending PPC Classroom LIVE at the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas, NV from May 28-30, as well as Affiliate Summit East in New York City, NY from Aug. 9-11, 2009. Stop by the Affiliatize Booth to say hello - I always look forward to meeting my affiliates in person!
Reunion would never let me sign up,for 15,000 reasons so I was never able to get this going. Did anyone else have the same problem? I read many of the prior posts but could not read all of them. Thanks.
