I found better result were obtained by supplementing the IPK-style sites with careful keyword research to produce additional pages that can rank. The higher competition for many of the popular products can make it difficult to rank the main pages. However, supplementary pages are easier to rank. By then providing backlinks, they can also be pushed higher up the SERPs. The real delay is with backlinking. I haven't outsourced these but this is a bottleneck where outsourcing would certainly be of benefit. The reason I didn't outsource was because I expanded the IPK concept to suit my requirements. I gave greater priority to building opt-in pages on these sites and then use PPC to send cheap traffic to the opt-in pages. The advantage being it is not only faster but also I can follow-up with messages to get visitors to go to the merchant's sales page. Once I have them on a list, I can also send pre-sell messages about other products throughout the year, making better use of those original visitors. This I find to be a more profitable approach than the pure IPK system. Incidentally, IPK updated some of their material on 14th Oct 09. Those who've purchased the product should return to the members area and download the latest version of their PDFs. Ivan |

The IPK site is continuing to release new information to update their recommendations in the lead up to Christmas. The latest additional PDF (Nov 2) comments on domain names and compares their relative importance to other SEO issues. It also describes in detail how to get relevant SHORT links for Amazon products. Those who have this product are advised to get these latest comments (downloads) to make their page building easier. Ivan |

HI: I started with the IPK strategy in mid October. at this point I am focused only on Christmas strategy. I had a mother site and 10 baby sites. I also started some squidoos, did some cragislist and bookmarked the sites on as well. The results so far are OK, just in November, I was able to send 369 people to amazon and only 7 of them pruchased a toy (a little less than 2% conversion). The only problem I am seeing is that the toys are not so expensive, so the total amount in comissions is very low for the effort and money invested so far. Hopefully, it will get better in December. Anyways, I believe if we focus on higher tiket items, and assuming similar numbers, the context would be better, but not outstanding. However, it would be a very good starting point. I am not so sure if continue focusing on Toys or move to promote more expensive items. Any suggestion? J |

Probably about 50% of the sales I make through Amazon are for products I wasn't promoting. So even if visitors start with a low cost item they may well buy something else which is more costly. Even so, I'd suggest having a look at some of the items which are in the $50+ range to supplement the lower cost items in your portfolio. Keep in mind that consumer electronics may have a restricted limit on commission. Nonetheless there are many other items popular at this time which can be targeted, such as video games, board games, outdoor toys, educational toys, etc. Ivan |

I started using this same exact idea a few weeks ago and it's been a little successful in terms of conversion but I have next to no one coming to my sites. Do you think it's too late to buy IPK and be successful with it for the holidays 2009?

The problem with getting started now lies in the delay for traffic using SEO methods. However, what you put into practice now holds you in good stead for year round site building. IPK offers a simple method of using PPC which can be profitable. That is probably the best source of traffic for anyone starting to build these sites at this time. Although not a standard part of the IPK system I've found that, if you send your traffic to an optin page first (if possible), you get several shots at making the sale and have a list of prospective buyers for the post-Christmas period. Not all products for IPK system lend themselves to this. However, as I follow this approach, I focus on those products which are suitable for an optin list. For instance, kids not only receive toys at Christmas, they also receive them for birthdays, etc. The ability to follow up can give you an edge after Christmas, as well as assisting with current sales. I have a question about site submission. Craig specifically says we should submit our IPK sites manually to Google, but doesn't mention using Webmaster Tools or submitting a sitemap. I have installed Webmaster Tools on all of my IPK sites (8) and submitted sitemaps through WT. Is there a downside to this? I figured I would get indexed quicker this way, and indeed many of my sites have been at least partially indexed within a day or two. WT also lets you know of any broken links, not founds, etc. Any thoughts on whether this is a good or bad idea? David |

If you have found from your experience that it works for you then go with it. I don't see any particular downside. I don't bother submitting any sites direct to Google and I can be sure of getting them indexed within a day or so. For instance, many of my sites also have blogs and these posts are indexed quickly. Blogs also produce site maps which are picked up almost immediately by Google after a posting. So I either post reviews of the product (as per IPK) or prepare a product page elsewhere on the site and link to it from the blog. Also, if there is a page which I especially want to see indexed I prepare an article which I submit to various article directories. Articlesbase will give me instant approval of articles I submit to them and these days I am getting approval from EzineArticles within 24 hours. These backlinks encourage Google to seriously consider a website page that I want indexed. Of course, articles that I prepare are also based on keywords that have been previously researched and that seem to offer a good chance of a high search engine ranking. Ivan |

I can't find the PDF called "Last Minute Shoppers PPC Strategy" in the members area. Did it change to something else? The closest thing could be that it is in: Video 6 - Low Cost Xmas PPC Strategy. (How to create easy to manage low cost PPC campaigns). Thanks ![]() Leon | |

Hi Leon, Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I've been experimenting with Twitter and it's been taking up my time. The video you mentioned covers the material I referred to. As well, at the very bottom of the IPK members' page is this PDF: Low-Cost Last Minute Christmas PPC Strategies (when you download, you'll find it's called "ipk-last-minute-shoppers-ppc-strategy"). I bought his product earlier in the year. I would like to know if there is anything new added in his revised product or would I be wasting my money as I already have the information?
