Alertpay - Who is Using Them?

There's been a lot of talk lately about Paypal alternatives. Alertpay is mentioned a lot, and I have to admit they look appealing, but I'd like to hear from people who are actually using them.

Anyone here want to share their experiences?

    Hey LB,

I used them once for a payment that came out of the UK. They will send a check or do a wire transfer. I went with the check due to the fact that the wire transfer was about $15 to do. Ouch!

AlertPay I think takes $4 for each transaction but not sure.

I got the check pretty quick however.

They are not very compatible with banks/cards in my opinion. Everyone complains about Paypal but tell me this..Which payment processor offer as much convenience and variations like Paypal does?

I've been using AlertPay on and off (just as an occasional substitute for PayPal) for nearly 3 years now. I'm a very "light user", I'm not a vendor/merchant.

However, I'm impressed with them. I have no difficulty using them, and no difficulty withdrawing to the bank. And compared with PayPal I must say their customer service is a pleasure.

      They really do try harder.

    Good to hear feedback.

Are any of you using them for decent size volume (xx,xxx monthly)?

I don't want to put tens of thousands of dollars into them and then have issues getting access to those funds. I have read some stories online of people getting locked out of larger funds and honestly, it gives me some concern.

I think the WF was using Alertpay for awhile but I no longer see that payment option, I'm not sure if there's a reason for that.

      Hi Chris!

My partner and I met with Chris Tisdall and Elsworth Weekes at Chicago XBiz - very impressed with them! AlertPay has built a solid rep in the industry!

  • I know that Alertpay, like other minor ones like Moneybookers and so on, are commonly used inside the PTC (Pay to Click) area and on a lot of list builders, ad exchanges and some others traffic exchange services.

For my opinion, all will stay around Paypal for a lot of time again, essentially because it is well known and connected to eBay.
But Alertpay can be a good second source for who was banned or has problems with the big P, or again for who wants to propose a double payment system

    See you soon.

I just had a meeting in Chicago with their Sales Director and COO, and I would have to say that they were one of the more professional and knowledgeable groups we met with. The platform is entirely built in-house, and they seem to be determined to become a major player in the 'alternative' payments space.

Definitely not a fly-by-night company - they have invested a great deal in their platform, and they were highly recommended by others at the conference.

I use them for a network marketing program which requires alertpay both to pay (join) and to be paid through. I've had no problems and good customer support.

One or two of the things that were "annoying" to me in the moment actually were indicative of good security measures. They seem to take security very seriously.

The simplest answer is usually the correct one.

I use Alertpay as an alternative so I can cater to non-Paypal users or Paypal boy-cotters.
