How Is 2Checkout Compared To Paypal In Being Finicky With IM Sales?

I am really getting fed up with Paypal and their finicky behavior with IM sales. In 2007 they killed all of my sales sites by freezing my account because of a purchase I made with a vendor they deemed as "suspicious" It took some doing but I opened another account and eventually fixed all of my sales pages to the new account.

Well just this past weekend Paypal decided to arbitrarily disable my debit card I have with them because their security team decided I was "using it too much", I used it like once every other day or so for about two weeks and thats too much? My regular bank debit card I use almost everyday and sometimes multiple times a day.

So needless to say my patience is wearing thin with them and I'm afraid if I ever did have a product launch that was super successful they could really scr*w me if they did another one of those "freeze for investigation" deals.

So whats the deal with 2Checkout are they a viable alternative to Paypal or are they just as difficult to deal with?

I read that 2Checkout has an even stricter policy on prohibited products, many of which internet marketers sell...

A better alternative is AlertPay, or if your selling software, look into shareit.com.

The problem with 2CO is they are still a little archaic in the way they do things. When you first start out with them they will want to call a percentage of your customers to make sure they have received the product exactly as described. This can't be great for your reputation... it's like having your mum check up on you.

I've used both and paypal is far more lax on their rules then 2co.

Does anyone think that an IM product offering will "convert" less if you don't offer paypal? Just wondering what people's willingness to use anything other than PayPal is...wonder if anyone has done any tests on this...

I just found a solution using an affiliate program that supports multiple shopping carts.

I am now in the process of setting up my sites in these affiliate programs and I had a WP Plugin developed that would allow me to rotate the different payment processors buttons on my sales page.

It could be done manually-see sig... but the plugin automates the process.

Now I send payments to various accounts, so if one gets frozen, there's still money in the others, and I even had the plugin developed to include a 'static' button so that if you want to 'show' Paypal as an 'alternative' to whatever button is showing on the page, you can do that for those picky customers who will only trust PayPal.

So the gist I'm getting from the replies is that 2CO is in some ways worse in dealing with Internet Marketers and digital product sales. I use Alertpay occasionally but the only problem with them is that have so much trouble with credit card processing especially if the credit card is a mastercard.

I guess the hunt goes on.
