Just found out about this browser, it is very fast, they claim that Quote:
here is the website Welcome to Maxthon, Your Full-Featured Browser | Maxthon Browser The only thing we cannot find yet is how to make it remember and keep open the pages you you are using, so they stay open next time you open the browser (Firefox does it).

Wow, thanks for the info. Will check it. Currently I'm comfortable with FF for its many advantages. But if there is better one, why not? |

Thank you for shareing it. It says it can draw web pages 200% faster than Google Chrome. If it truly does that, that would be really fast. I am going to install it and see how it works. Thanks.

My ex-husband, Ian (a Warrior, too) told me about it, he has tried it already and he says it is WOW fast, and works great. I just installed it, and boy, it is fast ![]() By the way, Ian found how to make sure that you can see the pages you used in the last session: Click on blue Smiley in the upper left corner, go to Options -> General -> Open on Startup -> Last Visited Pages |

I havn't used Maxthon in years but I used to like it before FF. It is a front end for IE (uses Internet Explorer engine). But had many options IE didn't and was definitely better than straight IE. Might go check it out again. Thanks On a side note: I used to use a few IE frontends like Greenbrowser and Maxthon that were Chinese or Asian developed and began wondering how much information these Chinese browser developers could potentially extract from me and get away with if they wanted to. I stopped using GB for that reason....Just a thought. But Maxthon has been around a looong time(2003) and I never heard of any shenanigans. |

Rubbish. Show me the test they did that shows it is double the speed of an internet browser developed by hundreds. Chrome filmed the test. Maxthon didn't, because it's clearly a blatant lie. Finally, and most importantly; It uses the Internet Explorer engine, which is just so stupid. The IE explorer by default is slower than Chrome. It is just Internet Explorer with a nicer theme wrapped around it. Sort of like that old marketing tip, "if you can't sell the product, sell the packaging". Thanks for sharing, totally understand where you're coming from, but as a Techie, I can promise you that this is a really bad browser. Stick with Firefox or Chrome. They're popular for a reason. edit: I just want to add something. Because Maxthon uses the IE engine, (just a lazy thing to do), it comes with many, many security problems which IE had/has. There are TWO major reasons people use Chrome/Firefox, and let's not forget them. ONE. They're secure. TWO. They have a lot of support already, with a large following, and Chrome/FF both have brilliant add-on libraries. |

I really don't think anything can be faster than Chrome... it is by far the fastest browser I have ever used and makes browsing the web an amazing experience. That said I will check this out, but won't hold my breath for blitz like speed. EDIT: Yeah definitely not faster than Chrome. I'll stick with big G's software for now. |

Even though if they are claiming to be the fastest Browser, I would love to stick with FF only. It has so many addons and plugins that make us experience the ease of browsing.

I knew that previously use a different name, myIE or something, but apparently it's been redeveloped since then. Thanks for the warnings, it is always good to know, especially from people who use Internet a lot and know the stuff inside-out. Quote:
![]() I usually trust what people say, and I thought I will share what looks good. Would you trust this test? I found it on Google: Maxthon 3 Beta Speed Test v/s Firefox, Chrome & IE–Maxthon3 Being Fastest of All | Technology Blog Maxthon Mobile Tops All Major Android Browsers in Comprehensive Memory Test: Greater Speed and Efficiency | Maxthon Browser I looked at the reviews online and it is from "great" to "hate", just like with some other things, I guess.

I downloaded both as a result of your post and Maxthon is an excellent performer, I guess I still have a lurking trust issue with it though. The Android browser? Wow! it looks way beyond any other I have seen so far. |

Thanks for the share! I've been using Chrome mostly. FF is great for plugins, but just too bulky for what I need. I'll have to try this one out!

I am glad that so many people found it helpful, and took time to make a comment, thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments from people who do not like it as well, that is the only way I can learn what is worth using, and what is better to stay away from. I still think that Maxthon is quite good. |

Thanks for the info Grazina. I already installed the browser Maxthon, and for comparison with chrome, it has some unique design. But between the two, I would still go for chrome as for the moment since I have been using this browser for a long time now. I am used to the features and speed of chrome that probably will use the Maxthon once in a while. Again, thanks for sharing the info about an alternative of a fast browser. |

I dropped Chrome a while back because I needed more functionality in FF but I still use it when FF bogs down. I'm practically forced to use IE for some things like my schools online classes and Maxthon may work good for that. I don't think Chrome is any faster than other browser I use and it is truly pathetic that Chrome cannot even make a browser for Android when they are the same company and FF is struggling to get out of Beta with an Android browser. I give props to Maxthon for making a great Android browser. |

Wow I just downloaded it and this thing is lightning fast. I feel like I upgraded my internet service to a premium package!!! I am surprised that google with the billions of dollars that they have, are not offering this type of browsing speed! Thank you so much I will start using this browser from now. Firefox seems sooo slow next to this beast! Thank you for the hook up! |
