Free Desktop Video Recording Software Like Camtasia!
I am FINALLY starting to create promotional videos for YouTube so I needed to obtain some software. I decided to create my presentations using free OpenOffice software. I am basically creating Powerpoint presentations and recording the desktop video with royalty free music playing.
So, I needed software like Camtasia to record the desktop video. I am not going to spend $300 for Camtasia so I found some cheap/free alternatives: Desktop Video Recording Software
I am testing a free one right now - BB FlashBack Express
It is pretty slick but I am finding a couple of glitches in the video when it attempts to record the transitions in the powerpoint presentations. But it is 100% free. They even emailed me a lifetime registration key.
I am a total n00b when it comes to this. I had to learn how to create powerpoint presentations. It took me about an hour to make a decent looking presentation. I cropped images in photoshop and pasted them into the presentation frames directly from photoshop.
On top of that I have never used desktop recording software. The software is self explanatory though so it only took a few minutes to figure it out. I've created 2 completed videos so far that are decent...but they both contain minute glitches. I still have some work to do.
I just figured I'd pass along the information about the desktop recording software and the free software from OpenOffice.org for those of you that haven't run into it.
