When is Reseller Hosting Worth it? What is the Best Web Host Reseller?

I am interested in reseller web hosting but I'm hoping some Warriors can help me beat the learning curve and save money. I've done some research but it's so damn hard to find honest reviews.

I thought about Hostgator but I just have an uneasy feeling about them given some of the stuff I've read. I know there is no such thing as the perfect webhost but I read multiple accounts where they've left resellers high and dry.

The two I'm in the lead right now are Namecheap and HostPapa. I'm after a turnkey web host but I'm not sure whether some or all web hosts are like that.

Also, do I need WHMCS?

If any reseller would care to share their experience and where they got good pricing/how to get good deals, I'd love to hear some good old fashion honesty.

I use Hostgators Reseller package. I am very happy with the service. I don't know what you have been reading but Hostgator has one of the better names in hosting.

Their reseller packages are administered with WHMCS. There are tutorials via Hostgator and plenty on YouTube.

I build websites and offer hosting for my clients. Almost free money.

    Hope this helps.

Not sure about NameCheap I know some one used my affiliate link to buy a domain name and it didn't show in my account. Since the commission was only 10cents I didn't bother with it. But it means their system may not be perfect.

In the UK, I would recommend Heart Internet or Fasthosts.

I had a reseller account with Hostgator and they were great. I think that whatever host you use there will be some disatisfied customers out there somewhere.

I now have a VPS account with them and no complaints.

        I agree.

I would go with hostgator and like patricia mentioned there is
no service out there that is perfect.

I been with hostgator for years and never had a problem

In the past I used Blue Host and had no problems...Hostgator is very well liked by many on this forum. I can say a reseller acct is the way to go.

I also have a reseller account with hostgator for many years. The customer support, in my opinion is great.

And never have any problems with them so far. a lots of WF members here also recommend hostgator. No web host can please all of its customers, but many people I know are very satisfied with hostgator.

Why not give it a try for a month and see how it goes.

    Hope this helps.

    HostGator is our #1 recommendation...

The main reason for having a reseller or above account is to be able to manage multiple full domain accounts as opposed to the sub-domain structure required when you have multiple accounts on a regular hosting account such as blue host and many others. What you save in hosting costs you will more than pay for in search engine rankings. Despite what you may have read, stacked sub-domains hiding behind a single domain account will never rank as well as a true domain on a reseller account.

Additionally with a reseller account you can get your own custom DNS server identity as well, thereby establishing better creds.

with Hostgator as you grow your business you can easily walk up thru the different reseller levels, to the VPS (Virtual Private Server) levels then to the dedicated server levels and finally to the truly custom dedicated servers.

They will help you transition thru all this with few if any issues.

While we do have a couple of small reseller accounts with other services, we currently have a handful of reseller accounts, several VPS accounts, several dedicated servers, and 1 custom system that we run our email marketing from. All of these are thru HostGator and while we have had the occasional issue, over the past 8+ years, Hostgator has always come thru for us with the best, most responsive support and general assistance.

When there have been problems or issues, they have always been with specific individuals, and we have found that those problem people tend not to be there for very long.

    on a scale of 1 - 10 I give them an 11, easily.

go ahead and give their sales or support departments call and chat with them, ask your questions, and see what they say.

Although the other users recommend HostGator, I prefer UK2.NET's Reseller Service. It is extremely fast, reliable and you receive unlimited SSL Certificates from Comodo.

I have tried a few different hosts and always end up back at Hostgator... mainly for the support but I have never had issues with them, only ever moved as the deal seemed better elsewhere but pretty much always turns out that you get what you pay for....

You get a free copy of WHMCS with the package as well and this is great for keeping track of when your clients owe you money etc.

It's already been mentioned but worth saying again, you can set your own nameservers too which makes you look far more credible than telling clients to use ns1.hostgator12324.com or whatever as their DNS.

And it is really, really easy to move up levels (or down) should you outgrow what you have or need less.

So a very big +1 for Hostgator from me.

I use Hostgator reseller. They are great if you are flipping sites or building sites for clients. The WHMC is free and the script is simple to set up (or they will do that for you). Their support is top notch. Love them

I use Hostgator reseller hosting as well as their shared hosting. Hostgator hosting of any kind has never left me "high and dry". Their support is excellent.

I've been with www.totalchoicehosting.com (not an affiliate link) as a reseller and a dedicated server since 2002 and can vouch for their excellent 24hr support and 99.9% uptime. Pretty sure they are not the cheapest but they will not restrict your cPanel (like HG do) as far as catch all emails. I'm very happy with them.

        Hi,

I'd always recommend services operated by Warriors first and then the rest would come next in line.

Do a search for Host The Name via the forum search function. It is operated by Warrior OscarH and his team.

You'll find his offers and services outstanding. There are reseller package, business package and VPS. He is also offering discount coupons for warriors if you get it through the WSO.

Thats very true there is no perfect host around... you might find some host which is perfect for you which might not be the same for others. So first you need to set up your requirements ..and then look for your perfect hosting provider. WHMCS is a good choice to have as an addon if you are willing to go for reseller hosting, this will give a professional look to your business. If you are looking for reseller Hosting in bonus wish to get free WHMCS I can suggest the hosting company I am using for last 3 years, to be frank they are professional with quality service , you can take a look if interested : Web Hosting US | Best US Web Hosting, Cloud Hosting & Reseller Hosting

I'm looking at getting a reseller hosting account, I host my sites now with hostgator and I'm very happy with them but my needs have outgrown a personal account. The only thing I don't like about Hostgator is they take 2-3 months to pay out, are there any reseller hosting companies that pay out faster?

I have been using Dreamhost for a couple of years, and wish I had Hostgator.

The good news is that it looks like Hostgator is doing their awesome Black Friday sale again this year, so if you catch this in time and can sign up on Friday, it looks like the reseller sale will be $4.95 a month for 50GB of disk space and 500GB of bandwidth.

Heck, you can make more than ten times that if you get one client, or even if you just use that for your own accounts it's a good deal.
