Okay, I'm wanting to start learning how to build my "list" and though i have made money online with amazon sites...i now want to focus my business on a more sustainable business approach (i.e. list building and email marketing). I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS APPROACH...i must admit...and am looking for a good, COMPLETE training course. any thoughts? |

List building is pretty easy. You just need an ESP (email service provider) like Aweber to manage your lists, opt-in forms, etc. and then you need to get traffic to your offers. If you can set this up, get traffic and tweak you can quickly and easily build a huge list to sell to over and over and over. I don't know any specific courses out there but honestly, all the info. is available for free all over the web (and especially here).

There's the actual process of building and growing the list, and this involves setting up squeeze pages, a free or low cost offer, then getting traffic to it. Then there's the email marketing component, where you develop a relationship with your list via email. There's so many courses about generating traffic to build your list. I recommend James Penn's 100 Subscribers a Day. It's only $10. For email marketing, Andre Chaperon's Autoresponder Madness is heads and shoulders above the rest. |

List building is only one part of the equation. Many a marketer has built a huge list only to find that it is nowhere near as responsive as he or she had hoped. What is also needed is a deep understanding of what people want to receive from you and how to give them content that makes them look forward to receiving your emails. That is the route to newsletter profits! ![]() Hopefully I am allowed to mention that I have just released a very comprehensive (in fact, I've tried to make it the most comprehensive) course that teaches absolutely everything I know about building, writing and profiting from your own ezine. What makes me qualified? It is how I make my full time income and 1227 editions over ten years teaches you a lot of what really works! ![]() Martin |

You can get the basics for free and that may take you a few days to a few weeks to master the first time but once you get it, and it works for you, you can do it again and again. I agree that building a targetted list is the best long term approach to income. |

There's two parts to listbuilding. First part is getting leads which is basically driving taffic using free and paid methods. The second part is relationship building. Most people forget about this but in my opinion, this is the most important aspect as you can have a super responsive list of 1000 subscribers that can out perform a list of 10,000... Sounds crazy but it's very true. The best guy who taught me about list relationship was Frank Kern when he was selling his Mass Control course... Love that course man! Anyway you can't get that now but I guess what I'm saying is, try to look for a course that teaches you relationship building as well as actual listbuilding. Hope this helps! James Scholes |

In addition to the 2 parts mentioned, there is the right offer to the right list. I prefer to create very targetted lists so that they are much more responsive. Just like I prefer to get targetted traffic. And if people opt out of my lists right away, so be it. I always give people a lot immediately in direct response to what I promised them, but I also save a great big bonuses for people who stay on my list monthly. So, I'm ok if people get the stuff and opt out because I know they are not responsive. It is much more about quality then quantity for me. |
