I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I am looking for a video program where you can make a video showing your video screen, but it's not with a camera pointed at it. I've seen some where someone shows how to do something on the screen and then maybe has a talking head at the bottom describing what they are doing. I'm hoping this is a free download sort of thing because there are a few I'd like to make that I can use to show people how to use a few of the function on my website. Any suggestions? |

You can do a free trial of Camtasia...it's definitely a good option, but expensive. You could get a lot done in that 30 days though I guess. Then for free, you can try Jing, which is a little more limited. |

I have camstudio and it is FREE. Camtasia cost me major money. For editing I use sony vegas. It is also expensive. However, well worth the money.

I'm going to try camstudio now. It looks like it'll meet my needs. I don't need a big production. I just get tired of telling people how to fill out a form. |

You may want to try the rapid niche video system. Do a search on here and you'll find it. Amazing piece of kit LOTS of training vids and resources.

I looked at the rapid fire video system and it looks interesting. The forum kept locking up for some reason so I did an internet search for it. I was a little unclear if it makes screenshot videos. I need videos for two reasons: One is so I can show people how to fill out some of the forms. I'd like to have a voice-over, but it looked like I would have to record it first and then upload? Or can I do it as I'm moving my cursor around so people can see? Also, I want to stick my face on there. For some reason, my group really wants to see my mug up there talking. I'd like to be able to maybe have a webcam or something so I can record and then maybe make it look all snazzy in the background or something. Does the program do that? I was a bit unclear after reading everything and watching the videos. The videos all seemed to be just still pictures. That would be okay, but not quite what I need. Reviews? |

I'm going to give a shot at Jing. I tried the camstudio and I couldn't get it to play back anything and it also kept giving my whole computer a weird green blinking thing. It looks like the Jing pro might be in order too, but I'll try the free one first to see if it works. |
