BeyondHosting vs Hostgator?

Hey all, so you all probably know about the change to tracking202 that it's being shut down and prosper202 will only exist.

I was speaking with a few friends in the IM scene and I'm trying to decide between BeyondHosting (which has prosper202 tracking built in already) or with hostgator. I've been told that hosting is pretty much all the same and I wanted to get some insights on who's used either one or both and your opinion.

My experience with HostGator has been excellent. I cannot comment on BeyondHosting, as I haven't tried them. I've had very few problems with HostGator and everything has been resolved immediately after chatting with a live customer rep online.

Hostgator in my experience. I've never had any issues with them.

Yes, Hostgator is the best imo, I like how they have live chat support.
Helped me a lot with the technical stuff especially when I just got started online.
I've also used ipage and it's also very good but it doesn't use cpanel so the learning curve can be a bit steeper.
I've never had any issues with either of them.
I never tried BeyondHosting though so I can't comment on that.

Thanks for the responses everyone. The reason I ask is b/c prosper202 requires hosting (since they're getting rid of tracking202).

And I want to be sure there aren't any issues with hostgator and prosper202.

There are many differences in hosting companies. There are few that have the respect that Hostgator has both in features and customer service.

Excuse the noob question but, what is this tracker202 and prosper202 stuff?

As for favorite host, at the moment, I'm digging nixihost, which is a new host company, now the only reason why I'm liking them is because of the promotion the admin is running on his home forum give you free hosting for a year (you need to chose the 1 year plan and register a domain), the coupon is "GOONHOST" and you get hosting for 1 year + domain for $9.95. They have a few other promotions for discounts on domains and a number of other as well, if you are interested, just google around and I'm sure you can find them.

Hostgator is still the best, they responses quickly with any issues and they never leave you until your issues are resolved. Although there are lot of hosting service that are cheaper.

There are cheaper companies, but when your lifestyle depends on your websites, you don't mind spending the extra cash.

We tell everyone not to use shared hosting from hostgator with Prosper202 because it either does work at all or works very poorly. We didn't design Prosper202 for shared hosting, and the majority of issues people have with installing and running prosper202 comes from a poor choice of hosting providers.
It may help in the article if you tried adding some tech details about why it would be better for a vps or dedicated server. I am just saying that because there are so many people who see the requirements for a script and see where the owners suggest a vps or dedicated server and just sweep it under the rug and think shared hosting will be just fine because they run similar scripts on it. Whereas if there was some more information about why it doesn't work then it could help deter people from trying to use it with shared hosting more.

Also, I don't think anyone is trying to shed negative light on the software, it's just that people don't understand that some software MUST be run on a vps or dedicated server. Not because it will run faster, but because it requires resources that wouldn't be available in a shared hosting environment

I have hostgator babycroc plan and I work with Prosper202 everyday without any issue.

Installing Prosper202 on your hostgator server requires knowing about how to create a mysql database and a database username, that's about it.

Beyondhosting on the other hand have Prosper202 already installed on their virtual server so it can be a plus for some people.

So, if you're a superaffiliate driving tons of clicks per day I'd recommend going with Beyondhosting VPS soluton, but if not and considering you were using Tracking202 previously I'd say you should be fine with Hostgator.

HostGator does have instructions on fixing the SQL partitioning issue but they still suggest a vps or dedicated server. I'm not saying it won't work with HostGator. BUT, both Prosper202 and HostGator officially suggest on their website that it be used on a vps or dedicated server.

Just because more people use a service/company, does not make it the best there is. Beyond Hosting is newer but has an excellent service. I currently have both HG and BH and am slowly transferring over completely to BH.

Don't bother installing Prosper202 to HG. It either won't work, or do so with a ton of headaches. BH, on the other hand, comes with integrated Prosper202 and they are a dream host for every affiliate marketer. Period.
