I did not order, but have been on their list since before the launch.

Here's my take: it seems like an interesting product. I realize that you can do yourself with a little effort (after all, most of these programs are really just paying for convenience). But, they seem to make it much easier.

My plan was to set this aside and buy it later, but I dont know when. I just got their relauch video saying a few slots are open. I'll probably wait for the next one.

If any one else actually bought, I'd like to hear your comments too.

Before buying anything (especially something that costs $1,000 up front + monthly hosting) it is wise to do due diligence on the people involved and their previous products. The people behind it, Marc Horne and Hollis Carter, were 2 of the people behind Autopilot FX.

I think that, unless you have an unlimited budget, the next step should be to explore other products on the market that perform a similar function but at a better price. In this case I would advise looking at the free Dolphin script by Boonex and their free Ray enhancements.

SNEmpire is not a social networking site like Facebook. It is the script to run a social networking site. The idea is that you find a niche community and then use their script to build a social network site to appeal to that community.

If I remember correctly, the sites they give as examples on their video are mostly generic sites for women.

It seems to me that the success or failure of new social networking sites rests mainly on the choice of niche.

I would strongly advise anyone thinking about starting a social networking site to test the waters with free forum or content management software before investing $1,000. Look into Dolphin, or even Joomla or Drupal or forum software like phpbb. The point is to do your niche research before you open your wallet.

While working to promote niche products on social networking sites, I have come across sooooo many ghosttown-like social networking sites!

It can be very difficult to get one of these things going. Nothing is quite as forlorn looking as an empty community site. If you doubt that, google "paid forum post." There is a hoard of social network webmasters out there so utterly desperate to attract users that there is a very lively market for fake posts to give the appearance of an active community.

(The paid poster phenomenon is something you should probably keep in mind when looking at sample social network sites. Paid posters are often used to puff up sample sites or sites that people are trying to flip.)

So first make sure your niche idea is really as hot as you think it is by testing it out with free software. If you don't already have something in mind that you think is red hot, you probably should not proceed with this. (in my opinion.)

I got SNE back in November and...

You seem to have a pretty good understanding of the product as the niche is very important.

but I think you might be confused about a few things if you want to learn more about the product you can see the package info and FAQ + demos and more at the bottom of all the snempire pages.

        or direct link: snempire.com/packageinfo
also the price during the launch is only $497 not $1000

And it is very much like a facebook style social networking site and not just a script. They built the code from the ground up and the customization process is supper cool. (main thing that is different is it is built around helping the user make money easily)

It is pretty easy to see money form the ads 1st, but the other potentials even bigger, I am still in the early stages as I have not got to dive in to much with all the other life stuff out there.

and the other providers you mentioned are honestly nothing like this.
there are a lot of options to create free or cheap SNS sites but you never get the whole thing and they are not built to make the owner money.

The training built around entrepreneurs wanting to build a profitable business around their community is one of the key differentiating elements about snempire.

There are a companies who provide a similar services but all of them cost more than sne if you are looking to make money.

the example you gave of dolpine if you look to get the business pack is $998 + the additional fees such as hosting.

I looked at what i think is all the other options and do belive this is the best option.

        thats my 2 cents anyway..

          Hello john17,

I see this is your first post. Welcome to the community.

It was my understanding that sedap_malam was asking if snempire was a social networking site like facebook. My reply was to clarify that snempire was not itself a social networking site but was a tool to enable the purchaser to create a social networking site.

From what I have seen of the sites they have built, the snempire product was made with Seagull, a free open source website builder. You can read more about Seagull here: seagullproject DOT org

hmm... It does appear that they are now selling it for $497 + monthly hosting. I could have sworn that the price I saw when watching the movie was originally $997. But that is of course the problem with video sales pages... you don't have any record of what you were promised. I am watching the move again and it does seem to be a very different movie, so who knows?

OK, I got to the end of the movie and I see that now the movie does say $497 (today only!) but the purchase buttons take you to a 1shoppingcart page that charges you $997. Here is the link I am using: ***link removed by request***

Dolphin is free. You can get the upgraded version for $39. You must be thinking of the full package of upgraded enhancements in the Ray package which is something different. More info about Dolphin and Ray can be found here: boonex DOT com/products/dolphin/

The snempire product is pitched to newbies. The point that they keep making is that you don't need any skills or experience to set it up or run it.

My point is that if you are a newbie you would be wise to take the time to research the whole subject of social networking sites and then research your niche and then test a simple social networking site in your chosen niche before you spend a lot of money on it.

The product sells for $497. That's the same price they were asking for it the last time they launched it a few months ago.

Are you familiar with GCD I'd be blown away if you're not? Doesn't this do the same thing as what you've got set up in the demo, only it costs 2000 for it?

Okay so I got the SnEmpire and it wasn't what I was wanting at all. BUT.....
It is definitely a good product if you like their template.

Don't get the Snempire if you want to be the next facebook. But If you want a great social site that is geared towards forums and video chat and you have a great niche to do it in than you definitely should get it. In my opinion.

It was $500 when I did it and it gave you two sites to use the SNEmpire template.
