Default Blog Engage Review - What Do You Think?

Blog Engage Review? What Do You Think? Is It Worth The $29 Start Up Fee?

I was just Googling checking out some blogging communities and I stumbled across blog engage.

It looks pretty promising all paid members which is a good thing in my opinion. The few reviews I have read were pretty mixed reactions.

Any members there? Do you like Blog engage? Was it worth the small investment?

I am interested in hearing your thoughts.

I was thinking of trying BlogEngage, but it seems much like an antique mall to me.

By that I mean in an antique mall you have a landlord renting small spaces to people who have antiques to sell. The landlord gets his rent whether or not anything sells and may get a percentage of sales as well. In this scenario it's clearly better to be the landlord rather than the seller.

It might be a good business model to emulate but is it worthwhile for a blogger? Unclear.

I'm testing BlogGlue, which is a WP plug-in that hooks you up with other relevant blogs. Can't say I've gotten any additional traffic from it yet, but the internal linking it does is valuable. There's an SEO toolbox feature that checks your titles and descriptions and helps you optimize.

Thanks for explaining further, Brian. I think you've got a great little business going there.

I'm not terribly interested in becoming a member of yet another community, though, especially when the benefit is nebulous. BlogEngage sounds like it could consume considerable time. Here in the WF I have access to thousands of readers on a daily basis, most of whom would benefit by accessing my blog. I'm not sure how much other bloggers would benefit.

In order to decide if it is worth the one-time $30 you have to define what you are looking for in a social community. For me BlogEngage is good for SEO, the links hold value. In addition, I know some bloggers that managed to benefit from the community and got some kind of joint ventures.

Again, it all boils down to the benefits that you want to gain.
