Hello All, As everyone knows, Mailchimp is a providing a free service (to a certain level) where as Aweber is the most popular Email marketing tool. I would like to see the comparison between these two, or rather , what is making Aweber superior than mail chimp? |

Aweber has been around for much longer. Mailchimp began not too long ago and only started in recent years. But if mailchimp keep up what they're doing now, they will take over aweber, it's so much easier to use and very simple. Who else has a chimp on their site that will share random links on youtube with you.

Mailchimp expressly precludes affiliate marketing in their terms of service, and if they find out that you've done any affiliate marketing, even if you don't use their service to do it, they'll still close down your account, and they even admit this openly, as explained here. Their frightening terms of service also prohibit so many other natural uses of autoresponders that it's by no means trivially easy to envisage who is allowed to use it. (Perhaps just someone promoting their own product, which has absolutely nothing to do with making money, and absolutely nothing to do with any other topic on Mailchimp's very large list of specifically excluded issues???). Anyway, it certainly seems - unsurprisingly - that large numbers of Warriors have lost their lists there. This thread illustrates some of the potential long-term hazards of using Mailchimp. This thread illustrates some more of them. This thread does, too. I strongly advise anyone wanting to develop long term income from internet marketing to stay away from "free" autoresponders. This subject is such a no-brainer. Still, as is often the case, some people "just get it" and others "just don't". |

![]() I can tell you, as a subscriber (and in some cases former subscriber) to some lists of marketers who use other "free autoresponders", that it's always a good idea to opt in to your own lists from one or two different email addresses and check carefully exactly what's being sent out, not quite "in your name" but "in your association", if you see what I mean. They may be "free" for the marketer to use, but they're monetized ... just not in a way that you might like very much, if you want to keep people opening and reading your emails! In fact, good advice for people wanting an autoresponder is to try to see what "the customer experience" is like before deciding to which one you want to entrust the security of your business's greatest asset! ![]() And then use something decent and respectable like Aweber or GetResponse instead.

mail chimp is no match for aweber IMHO Aweber is presently the top of the line in AR. If you need a decent one and are having issues with aweber you can try iContact. I tested it a few days ago and it's looking good. Though they don't have beautiful sign-up forms unlike aweber. |

iContact doesn't support the IM niche anymore either as per their new TOS! Don't believe me... Try to upgrade your account and see if you get banned after the next email...

I have used Mailchimp & Aweber for my restaurants. Aweber I gave up on because it was to confusing Mailchimp claims to be simple, but way too many features that I'd never use, just getting in the way. We just started using RedCappi which is really amazingly simple to use and I can easily and quickly create and send my newsletter without confusion. |

Hi Dotgiris, GetResponse offers a free service as well for a list of up to 100 subscribers with a limit of 500 emails per month. Create free account email marketing - GetResponse We've also just released a really cool email analytics package integrated into our dashboard and will shortly release an integrated inbox preview tool, which allows you to see how your email will render in the major email clients/services. Details on the new preview tool here: Inbox Preview is Coming Up! | Email Marketing Tips – Blog GetResponse Regards, Jim |

I think you're not allowed to promote affiliate offers with Mailchimp. There is another free one that has a thread in the "Review" section... Think it's called List Wire. James Scholes |

Another option is Imnica Mail - Email Marketing Service - Email Marketing Solved, but stay away from Mail Chimp. They HATE anything to do with marketing.

Mail chimp looks pretty, but they are complete d-bags. I had a list and in one of my mailings I mentioned that I would give 20% for any referrals. They shut down my account and refused to give me my list. Fortunately I had most of them already backed up. On this list, we had never even had one single opt out. As for aWebber, the great thing is everyone integrates with it. Personally I like Instant Customer better, nobody seems to integrate with it (yet) |

I've used Aweber, mailchimp, Icontact and Getresponse and have to say in my opinion Aweber is the best for inboxing out of all of them, Getresponse probably has the most flexible features such as allowing single optin for APIs if requested etc.

I prefer Aweber because it is one of the most well-known service providers for email marketing.

Alexa no wonder you have all those thanks! You really set an example with your personable, well thought out comments with social proof. Kinda on a sidenote I have been quite amazed when I go to my spam box just to double check that I did not let something important slip thru the cracks and I see all these Million Dollar Marketers in there! I know at least aweber has a test to see how your email would rate on the spam-o-meter but I am not sure how so many emails from prominent marketers are still heading straight to spam and it makes me wonder about my own emails I am sending out. I know we are all suppose to whitelist but how many of us actually take time to do it? Anyway this is a helpful thread and when there is a new kid on the block that is worthy I am sure aweber will respond accordingly. Another good thing I can say about aweber is that they will personally work with you to get your emails running smooth unlike an I- contact that bans you first (over importing your own previous buyers list) then talks to you after.
