Hey guys, as the title reads, Im looking for recommendations on software that will assist the delivery of my video content to paying customers. Ive put my videos together using Camtasia, and have about 200MB worth, all of which will be delivered within regular HTML pages. Ive just had a quick look at Amember. Does anyone here have experience with this application? At this point Im up for any suggestions on how best to deliver my content, whether it be using membership type software or any other alternatives. Thanks |

If you are going to have a lot of video you should really consider a full membership solution that has security features designed specifically for delivering that type of files. My top 3 recommendations would be Login Frequency Marketing, Rapid Residual Pro, and Viral Membership System. I mention these 3 because they have specific safeguards built directly into them for safely and securely delivering audio/video content. It is much better to go with a top of the line solution from the start than to use something now and figure out 6 months from now that it won't meet your growing needs and have to completely redo your entire site. |

I really dig Profits Theme. Great setup and it's a decent theme. The membership stuff integrates beautifully with ClickBank, Paypal and Aweber too. I don't think it's as advanced as Wishlist or aMember though. But check out the features at profitstheme.com. I offer a basic and advanced membership option and it works fine for that. |

There are several detailed threads about these type of solutions in the "product review" section of the forum. Check it out. Personally, I used Digital Access Pass and I'm very happy with it. I have DAP integrated with products on ClickBank, stand alone using PayPal, and now with WSO Pro. Works like a charm every time. I use PDF's, audios, and videos for my products and it works well using a membership site setup even if it's a one time payment. I use Wordpress but you can also use your HTML pages with DAP. And I host all my media files on my Amazon S3 account. |

Johnny, I'd strongly recommend Login Frequency Marketing. I've used it extensively for membership sites, it offers great content management functions, including drip feeding content, different membership levels, and has an easy to use template system. John |

As far as protecting the directory in which the video files are held- most membership site software systems do that. Or you can host them on amazon s3 and use a plugin like s3flowshield to serve it securely from a wordpress page, thats protected with a membership system.
Ive just had a quick look at Amember. Does anyone here have experience with this application?
Yep, been using it for many years. What else are you looking to do with the site technically? David |

@ramone_johnny, The combination of DigitalAccessPass (DAP) + WP + Amazon S3 + S3MediaVault.com (free with most licenses of DAP) will do the trick. Alternatives for S3MediaVault: Easy Video Player or S3FlowShield. With DAP, dripping videos or any other form of content also becomes really simple - you could drip, for eg., 1 video per week - or 2 videos per month, etc. And you can even use our Shortcodes to show a different video to non-members (could be a cliff-hanger where it stops abruptly at a juicy section), and the same page could be made to show a different video - the full version - after that same "visitor" has become a member. DAP provides lots of options that allow you to be as creative as you want with your content delivery. Anyway, regardless of which membership plugin you use, you should certainly consider hosting your videos on Amazon S3. For what it's worth, see this: Hosting Video & Audio On Amazon S3 vs Your Web Host — DAP Documentation And see this link about DAP Shortcodes: DAP Shortcodes — DAP Documentation - Ravi Jayagopal |

hey ramone_johnny, "I just wanna' be sedated" - love the moniker! anywhos - although i'm in the process of completely revamping my membership site - I have been quite satisfied using amember as the membership protection utility, amazons3 as storage for all large files and ezs3 for video management. I have a public access section that I've left up (although it hasn't been updated in a bit) for your (or anyone else's) perusal. It's at this url publicaccess I don't go nuts looking to save money - I found out a long time ago that "cheap" often implies more than just price. |

Go with: The Best Membership Script Online... Rapid Residual Pro You won't regret it. It is more robust than any WP solution out there. Well worth it. |

I personally used all of the above and they worked fine...but I settled on Nanacast because I wanted all my products and memberships centralized in one place (with upsells ofcourse). Now, any of my customers can "jump" between my products and memberships at Nanacast on the fly using their dashboard. My support costs, as a result, have virtually disappeared. But honestly...any of the above is fine. Each person has their own unique business plan and needs. That leads us to your more important question: how the hell do I protect my videos? There is only 1 solution that to this day that is uncrackable. Easy Video Player 2.0. There is no known way of downloading a streaming video from EVP. Josh Bartlett has truly nailed this solution. EVP obfuscates the HELL out of the embed code to prevent it from being downloaded with Video Download Helper. None of the other solutions offer this type protection. Sure they can secure sessions and expire after X amount of minutes via Amazon S3 and Secret keys...but the minute I hit "play" on those options, the plugin above will allow me to download it. EVP keeps the videos locked down...tight. The only way to download an EVP video is to literally press "play" and record the screen and audio while the video runs it's full length. That's pretty crazy for anyone to do considering the time investment involved. So to answer your question...use anything to secure the members area. But use EVP if you want your videos to be kept nice and safe. EVP can even control what domains are allowed to playback the video. Hope that helps. Good luck on the launch! If anyone knows of other solutions, please let me know so I can test their security. |

Hi To be honest any membership script should be ok. You have 2 options 1 have a script that you can load the downloads making the downloads part of the script. 2 have the downloads in another download area and have the link in the script. You have many scripts out there but purchase a php script You have advantages both ways 1 if the download is hosted else where it will save space 2 if you have the space then use the script for everything Pick a script that you can change to different member types being used at the same time. So you can have items going to 1 members type and not to another unless they upgrade. I do hope this helps Robert Bridgen |

I have been playing around with RRP for a couple of weeks now, and I like it a lot. And for the price, (it's only one time payment and no recurring fee) and support, I can only give both thumbs up ![]() Hit me up with a pm if you want to know more about it. --- Stefan

Hi James, If I understand correctly, one installation of Rapid Residual Pro is all that is necessary to sell an unlimited number of products? So if I have 100 products on 100 different domains in the IM niche, one installation of RRP will service all my customers and products? In this respect, is RRP similar to Delavo and Sitemanpro? Will RRP do OTOs, upsells and downsells? Will RRP do 1-click upsells? Thanks for your time and information, Allan Quote:

From what I can see on the features page, they do not offer Upsells or OTO's. Also, as of this post, it's $197 for 1 domain license, $497 for a 10 domain license.

Thank you Jesus, I appreciate the information. Yeah, I didn't notice anything on the salespage about upsells or OTO's. RRP has a robust feature set and appears to be easy to implement. Admittedly, the cost when compared to the unlimited license of DAP at $297 is a deterrent. That being said, cost for me isn't the ultimate deciding factor, there are more important factors such as security, ease of use, reliability, SUPPORT, etc. that are significantly more important in my buying decisions. In the case of RRP, if 1 installation can reliably serve as the hub for 'running' a large number of sites and serving customers, an unlimited site license may not be necessary. Thanks to the wealth of information from you and the rest of the Warriors, I have my choices narrowed down to RAP, DAP and RRP. Are there any other 'ABC' platforms I should consider? lol Thanks and Take Care, Allan |

Of the 3 solutions you personally mentioned, only 2 have upsell capabilities. RAP and DAP. Between RAP and DAP, only DAP + Authorize.net + SSL certificate have true "1-Click" upsell ability. What are true 1-Click Upsells? 1-Click upsells occur when a person buys something and immediately after clicking "Place Order", they are presented with an opportunity to add something else to their order. They can click "Add to Order" or "No Thanks". If they click "Add to Order", the item is immediately billed to their card. Then the process repeats...or ends with a Thank You page that includes all the items they purchased. There are only 5 membership-based solutions I'm aware of that perform true 1-Click upsells with a merchant account. 1) Nanacast, 2) InfusionSoft (with LOTS of necessary extras $$$ and headaches), 3) DAP, 4) Login Frequency Marketing and 5) Butterfly Marketing Script. Now let's go back to Business 101. The 3 ways to increase profits are:
I can personally recommend 1, 3 and 4. 2 is ridiculously overpriced and a nightmare to setup with 1-click upsells. I've never used 5 because it was pretty buggy back in the day. Not sure about now with the new 'open source' community he released. Good luck, Allan!

RRP has OTO with unlimited upsell and downsell options. You can have an unlimited number of products and each one can have as many upsells/downsells as you want to add to them. Each installation of RRP can handle an unlimited number of products, but they are all on one domain, one single site. |

Just want to add that CustomerHub offers video membership sites out-of-the-box with Infusionsoft. It's an option if you're looking to centralize your billing, access and marketing into one system. (CustomerHub was recently acquired by Infusionsoft in late 2011.)

It is very challenging to get large video files up onto the web. For all of the great improvement in bandwidth of the Internet, this still seems to remain a weakness.
