I have used Hostgator for about 5 years now and have never had any issues. Anything that went wrong, which is very little, was handled right away. Good review from here!

Hello Everyone, The current houston office while having a beautiful exterior is pretty dumpy in many ways. It has slow elevators, a terrible parking situation, and located adjacent to the freeway in a bad part of town. When we purchased this building we were a much smaller company that had little $$$ and a ton of growing pains to deal with. I risked everything when I signed the mortgage to acquire this building. The 290 location has served it's purpose allowing for us to grow to the size we are now, however it's time to retire it. We currently are building out a brand new office in houston that we hope to be moved into in less then 6 months. The new office is in nice part of town, parking will be solved, and it will have a $4m interior buildout. Part of this buildout will include an exterior slide on the building allowing for our employees to slide from the 5th floor of the building to the 3rd. I'd say at most we get a single customer visiting us every two months or so in houston. We don't get much foot traffic other then employees and interviews so yes the signs are indeed lacking. I'm the owner of hostgator and am typically found wearing shorts and sandals to the office. If we had a dress code I might even quit! =) -Brent |

I like HG, have 150+ accounts with them (counting reseller to cPanel accounts etc) and even though I run into some issues, if you call their tech support they're normally on the ball about getting stuff done. Give 'em a shot. Just remember if you run into an issue, don't freak out until after you talk to their support. |

Yes, I have been using them for years, and as a web designer I receive commissions by sending my clients there for their hosting. However, when it comes to dedicated servers, there are better deals out there.

| I am changing my mind about my review, hostgator owner get in touch with me by himself because of this review. Any company that its owner will take the time to trace one bad review on a forum to improve the service certainly rocks .

If Mc'Donalds is the king of fast food, then HostGator is the king of hosting services. Both serve their customers in a pleasurable and consistent way. I hope you liked my metaphor |

I've used Hostgator for years. I've dealt with so many hosting services over the past 15 years (yes, really), I don't even remember them all. (Bluebox was fun while it was under its original ownership, and it's the only one that stands out favorably in my memory.) Hostgator isn't perfect, but their support staff (usually bright, funny, English-speaking people located in Austin, Texas) are wonderful. They don't give me the brush-off, they answer even my pickiest questions, and they stay in the chat until the problem is fixed. (Other hosting services often say, "Try this and, if it doesn't work, get back in touch with us.") Once, back when I was on shared hosting, someone had injected spammy links that migrated through all of my sites. When I discovered it, Hostgator resolved the problem for me, overnight, at no charge. They didn't even reprimand me for not having current, secure WP installs on all of my sites. (I'd neglected a few, but desktop software now handles the updates across all of my sites.) Hostgator get major points for dealing with that issue quickly and gracefully, and they've secured my loyalty. I'm on a basic Reseller account, and I'll admit load time can be slow at times. For one of my largest sites that gets hit with heavy traffic, I use Omnis. However, I signed up with Omnis before I tried Hostgator. Today, I'd probably use Hostgator for that site as well... except I'm too lazy to move it and Omnis does a fine job. No hosting service is likely to be perfect. However, after using about a dozen major hosting services (including GoDaddy, very briefly) over ~15 years, I can confidently recommend Hostgator. |

I've been with Hostgator for about two years now and Love their customer support! I think it's one of the reasons why I haven't considered changing to a different provider. Definitely recommended.

Yeh, i would definitely recommend it. Unlimited domains for $9 a month, i've had a few problems, but they have 24/7 support so you just wait a few minutes for someone to be ready, then they are ready to help. Every problem has been fixed so far within 5 minutes |

Like eibhlin, I've tried sooo many hosts over the last 10 years. I've only been with HostGator for about 6 months now, but I've been very impressed with their service. The couple of times I've had to contact CS, the service was quick, friendly and professional. My issues were taken care of immediately. So... so far, so good! |

Hostgator has been affordable. I've owned 5 websites with them. Despite what others have said, hostgator is good if you want to use prosper202. You just have to learn to install it properly. |

I have found their phone support slower than it used to be. Often it is quicker to use chat. You seem to get the most knowledgeable responders when you leave an e-mail ticket but I don't have enough problems to know if that is always the case.

I see plenty of people have already answered this for you, but it can't hurt to add my experiences with Hostgator. I would never even consider using anyone but Hostgator for all of my sites. The deciding factor is their phenomenol 24/7 customer chat support which I've used so many times. I'm no webmaster by any means, but they have helped me every single time I've used their chat service. Without such help it could have taken hours to figure out certain things, that they were able to explain in just minutes. Hands down, Hostgator is my choice by a longshot! |

Hi, for my opinion Hostgator is simply the best. I'm running my business through it, and just yesterday I bought my second account to run even more websites and blogs on its platform. I've also tried others hosting like Midphase, JustHost, Site5 and BrainHost but the best is always the good and old Hostgator for me. I never had servers moving like crazy with websites offline (it happened a lot of times with 1 of 3 above...), and I always can count on Support the moment I need. More, it has CPanel. And that's really what I need for my Wordpress oriented business. Thanks and see you soon, Alessandro Zamboni |

I've been using HostGator since 2006. I did websites for clients hosted by my own HostGator hosting service and never got any complaints. Used many platforms like PHP, WordPress databases and more and they have great level of updates that makes it easier to be compatible with the industry of Internet websites. I'm using it now for my internet marketing niches and I rarely had some downtime. Cheers |

I don't recommend Hostgator Over the years I've had everything from shared hosting to dedicated servers with Hostgator lately I had problems with due to issues with Wordpress. They have suspended a few of my sites due to claims they are using to much of the cpu resources. Here is a few extracts that they advised me to implement. We noticed that this is a WordPress blog, and recommend a few different steps you can take to prevent this issue from recurring. First, try to reduce the total number of active plugins on your blog. The following types of plugins are known to cause high resource usage and should be avoided: All related posts plugins (WordPress Related Posts, YARPP) can cause significantly high load in most cases. - WPRobot3 and other auto-posters can also cause high load issues, and should be disabled if they are causing issues - StatPress and other wordpress statistics software should also be disabled, as these too can consume too much CPU in certain cases. Use Google Analytics instead for statistics as well as Awstats which already comes by default on your account. - WP Post Views is also a plugin that you'll want to avoid as it causes significant resource usage. - Any other plugins that are not vital to your Wordpress should be disabled. On one of the blogs not one of the listed plugin above apart from jet pack site stats was used I however disabled all of my plugins not needed to run my blog and as a consquence suffered a 30% reduction in traffic. Many of the plugins sold here on the warrior forum will not be able to be used with Hostgator I had this issue on a reseller account. I did a reverse ip check on the server and found 999 other sites on the same server so my suggestion would that is more likely the cause of server overload... Anyway moving hosts just thought I'd share an honest review reason why you see so may people recommending hostgator is probaby the $125 dollar affiliate payment. I notice Brent posting in here I rang support the first time this happened and tore a strip off them because a week prior I submitted a ticket to support when my site was loading extremely slow and asked if I could do anything about it... So as you can imagine I was a bit irate when after being told it was due to spammers and my site would be monitored that a week later it was suspended without notice due to causing high load due to plugins. Anyway time to move on ill take my $2k plus spent on hosting with hostgator to someone else who understands blogging requirements. |
