I have spent about an hour and a half looking on this site for info and had no joy. What I am looking for is a decent UK based webhosting company. I have a hostgator account, blue host, etc but they are based mostly in the US. I have tried 123-reg and 1and1 hosting and found their services to be poor. I have a specific project that requires UK hosting so can anyone help me out as I dont trust review sites for obvious reasons. |

Hi bluetechseo, I'm UK based - I usually register my domain names with UK2.net - no problems at all with them - they host as well, bit I usually host elsewhere. Can I ask why UK hosting is important? |

I use Krystal.co.uk (not an affiliate link) for all my UK based hosting and have done for the last 3 years. Uptime excellent as is customer service, not the cheapest but equally not the most expensive |

The one I use is D9 hosting and I couldn't recommend the enough. They're reliable and their support is second to none. James Scholes |

It all depends what facilities you need but let me tell you this (from someone who knows a little bit about SEO). If you have a .co.uk or .org.uk domain and you wish to optimise your website for the UK audience then best to host in the UK. As you probably know Google is extremely hot on relevance and it all starts with the basics; a) .co.uk domain b) Genuine UK host on UK based servers c) UK IP address d) UK nameservers (if your domain is registered elsewhere). This can have an impact if your domain is registered with say Go Daddy instead of a UK seller such as 123-Reg Now finding a good host that satisfies all this is tough. I went through 20-30 of them before I got the right answers from a very good host. Again, I'm not affiliated in any way. They run cpanel and a fantastico equivalent so it's dead easy to upload new Wordpress sites. They also have servers in the US so you could host US specific sites there as well. Or you could run .coms from the UK This makes a big difference to SEO www dot unitedhosting dot co dot uk There are a lot of crappy resellers out there - here today gone tomorrow. United have been around about as long as hosting has. Best of luck |

Remember to consider all aspects of hosting. Most of these guys say they're UK based but they are not. Let me give you an example of a massive hosting company. Servers based in the US, 1st line support in US, 2nd line support in Khazakstan, billing support in india. Fine if nothing goes wrong but can be hell if it does and I'm speaking from personal experience. Website was down for 10 days lost over £1000 in sales... And this company pushes itself as a UK host in the UK... |

Hello, I'm sure each of these recommendations are solid as a rock. I would like you to take a look at 2020Media. The support is awesome...and to be honest, this is probably the most important thing after you ensure they spec out to your liking. Good luck!, Dave |

I have a server and reseller account with Heart (ducks) I've never had a problem with them, I often send in 1130pm support tickets and get a reply within 2min with either the problem fixed or a solution provided.
