Default Reliable video-to-text transcription service?

Hi,

Does anyone here know of a good, reliable video transcription service?

I have a 63-min video that I want converted to a word document (ebook report).

- Thanks

Yeah that is going to be expensive, They usually charge about 1.00 to 1.50 a minute. You would probally do better finding someone on vworker or scriptlance or odesk, and dont forget to try to find someone here on the warriors. There is a section here for that, haven't been there though.

My service would charge you about 70 bucks for that.

If you have the time you can easily do it yourself using the speech recognition software that comes with Windows or if you have Dragon Naturally Speaking.

Play your video using the fast playback speed and you should be able to get through that pretty quick.

I just checked odesk and they have some that charge 5 bucks an hour for that, that is not a bad price. Here's the link, its under my login name so don't know if it will work if it doesn't, just go to odesk.com and search for video transcription.

I got someone on oDesk to do it for $2 an hour (about 900 words).

Or you can do it manually by slowing down the video speed with the Myspeed plugin: www.enounce.com/myspeed

You can also slow it down in quicktime. It sounds really funny, but it's easier to keep with for someone who doesn't do transcription on a regular basis. Listening to it through headphones can help also, if you choose to do it yourself.

Ishan, I hope you have found some help with the transcription of your video by now, but I wanted to let you know my rates are just $50 per audio hour, even for videos.

Don't let the affordable price fool you. Fast, affordable, and accurate - the perfect combination.

Best wishes,

Kim
