As I mentioned in your other thread, a lot of people here seem to like HostGator or Bluehost. These will be fine for your needs. More popular US web hosts are listed here. Andrew |

I like Hostgator because of their famous cPanel. But Yahoo Web Hosting is outstanding also. They give you all the tools you need to succeed, plus gives a $50 credit for Google Adwords and MSN Adcenter. Plus Yahoo Webhosting has 24/7 support, a great web design tool called Yahoo Sitebuilder, Verisign verification that you can put onto your website, and seamless wordpress blog installation. Everything is a piece of cake with Yahoo. |

I've been with BlueHost for about 7 years. Never had a problem with them. You can call support 24 hours a day and they are very helpful. I've never had to wait on hold for more than a couple of minutes. I like their c-panel as well. It's jam packed with features.

giga, Depends on what you need. In general, Hostgator and BlueHost are standard choices that are reliable and have lots of customers and developed support structure. However, they are not the fastest, cheapest or best at support. If you need blazing speed, super low cost or personalized support there are better options. Also, if you need a dedicated server or VPN or more sophisticated services there may be better choices. |

Hostgator is what I use and seems everyone likes them too so its what I will recommend. Their support is good and so does the up-time of the service. Its cheap too, so you can never go wrong with them, IMO. Ryuchi |

I've been through a ton of hosts trying to pinch pennies here and there. In the end it's not worth the hassle of having subpar hosting to save a buck. That being said, I use Hostgator. If you want Litespeed hosting, I think MDDHosting is the best.

Can you name a host that is faster/cheaper/has better support? I don't know about the fastest, but I haven't found a cheaper host for the benefits. I love HostGator and will stay with them. They were the only subscription I didn't cancel when I cut down on the membership sites. You claim there are hosts with better support, but I've used HostGator's Live Chat a lot, and they always have been very patient and helpful. Plus, in their newsletter, they pride themselves in customer service, a quality that not many companies seem to care about these days! My best advice when choosing a host is to know what you want from them and weigh your options from there. While I can't say for certain, it is probably fair to say that no host is going to be your-all-in-one solution. Sorry. Some will be better at speed, others at support, others at pricing. It just depends on what matters most to you. I do have a word of warning that no one seems to have addressed though. If your web host says they have unlimited this or that, even if it's HostGator, just know that it's never unlimited. If you dig deep enough, you'll find the limitations. Ciao. | |

Hostgator is a good choice. I am using it and am so far happy about their service. You can contact their customer service, for example, through chat any time of the day and get answers to your questions. As an affiliate of Hostgator web hosting, I have an exciting offer. PM me for details or visit my website, if you are interested. |

I also want to chime and say Hostgator is what I've used and they've been great. I like their customer support, and they're not very expensive either |

Will say it again, stay away from bluehost. Just google throttling and bluehost and you will see plenty of people with complaints about them. Matter of fact, there is even a website out there (bluehostsucks) compiling all the unhappy customers. I signed up because everybody was raving about them, but ever since last oct 2011, been throttled a few times, and my site is a basic, plain 15 pages wordpress site. Have about 6 plugins in it, and was using the socrates theme. They said that it was probably a problem on my end so i switched to a basic theme, and the throttling still going on. For about 8 months though, my site was running fine. But suddenly in oct/nov time frame, things went to hell. Also, others have had the same problem in that time frame. Can't say it enough, don't use blueshost. |

I use Vodahost and Hostgator. I started off with Vodahost due to their easy to use website builder (for newbies). Both give you more than enough goodies to help you be successful.

For the money - Rackspace.com's Cloud server for $149/month - gives you unlimited domains, real-time help from Server Admins included in the month. The best service level in the industry. Lastly - I would recommend everyone use CloudFlare - Home | CloudFlare | The web performance & security company they offer a free service - Where they Distribute your content around the world so it’s closer to your visitors (speeding up your site). The free service has all the important features and you don't see real-time results just 24hour old results. It's amazing how much of your website traffic is junk, hackers, script kiddies, etc. This tool let's you block unwanted threats. The increase in your website load time will also assist you in getting that higher ranking in the search engines. check it out and email me any questions. |

I would recommend Bluehost, I've been using them for 3 years now and they are good. Well, recently I've had a few glitches with them but nothing huge (their new support staff seems to be a bit too "red tapeish".) I've tried Hostgator but I cancelled my plan in 2 weeks and went back to Bluehost - I had to restore a backup for one of my blogs and I asked the support if they could do that. Sure, no problem, that would be $20 - to flip a switch. Hell no. Bluehost does it for free and efficiently - and when you need redundancy, it does matter. Anyway, this is my 2 cents. |
