Webfire - anyone bought and used this?

Too bad - I just viewed the video and looks very interesting for the price - just the ability to create quick videos from your content is worth the monthly price - one thing I did NOT like is that the sales page stated $29.99 - but then when you hit the next page you find out it is $49.99 unless you pay for the year in advance - and sorry, but not paying for a year in advance before I have a chance to try out the platform.

Deceptive sales practice kind of left me feeling 'iffy' about the product in spite of the positives so was hoping some of the beta testers might be in the WF??

Well, in spite of the pricing practice - which I do deplore - I am going to try it out today - it's web based so my hubby and I can both use it (he's PC - I am Mac) and I found a couple of reviews that gave a good list of what the software does, and it does a lot for the price.

The prices are all listed as three choices -- monthly, every 6 months, or yearly, where there's discounts obviously for going every 6 months or yearly, but it's all dirt cheap compared to everything that it does.

There's not only a ton of stuff in there now, but new stuff and updates are being rolled out all the time (including some new stuff later today). Some of the tools like the lead tools I think you'll like a lot.

I was on the call yesterday as well. Bought the 6 month option and didn't start messing around with it until this morning. Haven't looked at all the features yet, but as Melody pointed out, to me just the video feature alone is worth the 6 months I paid for.

I'm not a huge fan of buying anything before I read some reviews but after a couple of hours of having access to the control panel I believe this Brian, Brad, Brett (cant recall his name) guy has over delivered on this product. That's just my opinion.

Melody, great suggestions in that we should try to summarize everything again. We do it in the video but there's A LOT of stuff to sum up without confusing people. We actually tested that (going over in a lot more detail everything we had) and found that it seemed to confuse people because there's simply so much in it.

But I talked recently to my partner in that about maybe having a short summary above the link to buy when it pops in, but in all honesty, that will change all the time because we have an entire team of local coders rolling out stuff all the time. That's why we wanted a simple message that we simply get free traffic, higher rankings, more leads, and more exposure.

We're not actually going for a "launch mode" type product -- we're making it more evergreen and the focus is on long term members instead of quick one time money.

And we try to show off several of the features in the video itself. In fact, that's why we actually show several of the tools in a demo in the video too to show off some of the features (something most guys don't do).

We also sometimes do webinars where we show off a lot more of the tools and features.

But to give you an idea, the video is about 18 minutes long and shows off a few of the more popular tools and then lists off several of the other more popular ones.

The webinar shows off a lot more but probably takes closer to 90 minutes and we still don't show off everything (but again there, just like the video, we try to list off the main tools / features). But again, that's a good suggestion and we'll see how we can more easily list off everything.

I'm back! Have not had as much time as I had hoped to play with this yet - but so far, I really like it. Slick, easy to use interface, very intuitive - you do not an engineering degree to figure it out - and honestly, that is a nice change of pace! I am tired of services that take hours to get up and running - this seems to work pretty much 'out of the box'!

So - will report back Sunday or Monday as I have more time to run through it but so far - it's a Mercedes with a Kia price tag

This is nothing short of awesome, I picked it up yesterday and worked on a friends site that is only a few months old, it is NOT an EMD, it wasn't in the top 1000 sites for a super targeted keyword that we wanted,and today is FRONT PAGE position 5 right behind 4 . gov sites that are 12 yrs old AND we got an article into the # 8 position for that same KW....I look like a friggin superstar, and honestly I kinda feel like one...lol

Aries, you can use our tools on any sites that you want (we don't limit it to just one or anything). And as for your question on a blog network, we actually have one already done that we're just tweaking and testing before releasing inside the members area as yet another tool shortly.

And yes, there are some OTO's / offers that you can see after you purchase, but all the 22+ tools you get full access to regardless. We're not making it so you need to upgrade to make anything work.

I've been using Webfire for a few weeks now. Its actually not bad. A bit expensive for what you pay for, but not entirely a waste of money. Get it if you desperate, but other than that...hmmm not too sure...

Would WebFire slow down a computer or run on a rather slow broadband connection (say with a 1 - 2MB speed) ? Thanks.

ebuyer, WebFire won't slow down a computer, and it will run just fine on a slower internet connection. The only thing with a slower internet will be that some of the tools and such might work slightly slower, but it's just like how any website, videos, etc. out there would also load slower for you.

Thanks for your post! As for the java thing, we actually have a note about that in our members area under the news, and you are right that some 10.7 users will need to download that free plugin (but as a side note, we're actually making some changes that might make that not needed even there in the near future).

As for the internet, for the majority of users, any wireless internet should be more than fine. I actually run it wirelessly myself at home. However, some of the tools that are more intensive do run faster with faster internet. Some countries like Australia don't have as fast of a connection as the U.S. and other places so doing what you say could definitely help if you're in one of those slower net areas.

The last time I was in Australia, it took me about an hour just to check a few e-mails (although that was due to the hotel's net probably being even slower than the normal net there). Us Americans don't know how lucky we are with how fast our net is here.

First, thanks for the positive comments in the other thread.

Second, as for your question, we're fine with people having workers in their account to outsource work too, but just be careful who you give access to so they don't mess up stuff in there. And on that same note, we're okay with outsource workers but we do have security settings in place to get alerted to abnormal use / behavior (like if there's a ton of people using it) to basically prevent people from giving away their accounts or selling them to others that have nothing to do with them.

So to sum it up, we're okay with all outsource workers and ethical stuff as far as all that goes.

The Video Firestorm tool in WebFire does not work correctly. I've gotten very little to no response from their Support Department (Ticket: #FYA-996-25537). I wasted my weekend trying to get it to work. They claim to give you a refund within 60 days. Well, it's been less than a week since I started my subscription. I submitted a new Support Ticket demanding a refund. Let's see if they respond quicker to that.

I also had them go ahead and refund your $49 already, but would still be happy to personally help you if you want to give it a try (and would still like to know more details so we can look into it). And you can certainly go use other video submitters out there that will cost more than double what all of WebFire costs (not just for our video tool which is one of over 22 tools as we do a lot more than just submitting tools) and don't have all the features.

Buzz, as I mentioned in the e-mail, normally the video submitter goes out every 10 minutes so it's very quick to get your videos out. If you e-mail me the original file (not something up on YouTube) for the video, I'd be happy to take a look so we can test it out to see if there's some issue or simple setting missed.

And as any of our WebFire members can vouch for, on the rare occasion that there's an issue anyone experiences, we try to resolve it fast as long as we have enough info to troubleshoot it.

As for your other comment, you shouldn't view WebFire as a video distribution service, as our focus is on tons of tools to get you free traffic, better rankings, more leads, and more free exposure through any legit, white hat means out there. But we definitely do have tools in the video area like the ability to easily create videos, submit them, etc..

We purposely only submit to the top video sites instead of dozens of other video sites because we find that it gets us and our clients better results. It wouldn't be too hard for us to submit to a lot more, but especially after the panda update, Google is coming down on sites that have unnatural links and unnaturally mentioned all over. We've seen this even with just videos too.

If you show up on a bunch of crap article directories or video sites, it can hurt you a lot more, but it can help you a lot to just be on the main ones. That's why we do what we do. At the end of the day, we want to get results for our clients from our tools so we focus on the results rather than on the number of sites to submit to.

6feet5 -- not sure what you mean by "no posts on this for 4 years." The software is less than a year old, and there are lots of posts even on this thread in the last few months, so not sure where you're seeing that or how you're thinking that.
