1click Upsells - Ultracart compared to 1Shoppingcart

Has anyone who uses 1shoppingcart, tried ultracart?

Many gurus tout 1shoppingcart as the best all in one solution out there, but if you look at ultracart it surpasses 1shoppingcart in almost every way.

Note: I am not associated with ultracart.

For example: OTO 1 click upsells.

There are many gurus who tout the benefit of 1 click upsells, where the customer doesn't have to re-enter their ordering information again...they just have to click a yes or no button to add an additional items or items to their original order.

Many businesses are made on this simple strategy of offering a low priced offer and then upselling the customer.

ultracart has this feature included. You can make as many upsells as you want...downsells, upsells triggered depending on which product was ordered, etc.

But when I try to mention ultracart to them in blogs or emails, I never ever get an answer.

Is it all about money? Being that they get affiliate commissions from 1shoppingcart or have private labels with them?

I can't figure it out. Does the ultracart.com cart (for some reason) just not bring in as many sales as the 1shoppingcart.com cart?

I'd love to hear comments and opinions on this

Ok, I changed the title of this thread to reflect on the main feature I am talking about that ultracart has that 1shoppingcart doesn't. I know someone else besides me has to have some experience with this.

I'm looking to find more info on Ultracart as well.

I know that Matt Furey switched from 1shoppingcart.com to using ultracart.com and Aweber for his email lists.

Now I'm wondering if this would be a good solution for me.

Anyone out there have some experience with ultracart?

      Thanks,

      Roger

Matt Furey still sends email through our system.

1shoppingcart has some large holes in it's upsell express system. The two biggest, they don't allow you to sell a quantity of an item.

For instance I added a gift certificate upsell today, it would be nice if the customer could select more than 1 gift certificates. They cannot. Second...

The second major issue is that if you don't have a down sale and the customer does not purchase the upsell, it automatically takes them to the next upsell. You cannot send them to a Thank You / Exit page after the first "NO."

          Their diagram looks like this:

Upsell - NO - Upsell - No - Upsell unlimited for as many upsells as you have - Thank you page

You would think you could automatically send it to an exit/ thank you page when you wanted such as this:

Upsell - NO - Thank you page

I'm not sure I will keep it. My current system is upsellmastery.com. It is 20.00 cheaper a month and does not have these limitations. I cannot figure out why they won't let you just send a person to an exit page instead of going through each upsell first... spoke to tech support and at this time, this is the way it is.

Warrior Guy, both great ideas, thanks for the comment. The primary reason for what our upsell module does, or doesn't do, at this point is simply that we built what was asked for.

We worked with a core group of major Internet marketers over the past 6 months to define and build exactly what Internet Marketers were looking for in a 1-Click upsell engine.

The good news is, our release on the 9th of Upsell Express is the beginning of a great product, not the end. We have already had a lot of great ideas for improvement come through our Ideas forum and you will see more features added as we move forward.

            thanks again!

              Hello WG,

Granted, we do not currently give the option for customers to buy an upsell in bulk, but this will definitely be considered in future updates.

You can indeed downsell, and you can choose to set up a upsell - no - downsell - Thank You scenario.

Each Upsell can have an associated downsell, or not. It is your choice.

The best part, with the split-testing, is you can run two separate channels and see which experience suits the customer best.

Upsell Express is considerably more flexible than you have indicated here.

We've run a few mil through Ultracart. The upsell after feature is robust, flexible and powerful. Probably 20% of our rev comes from upsell afters.

That, coupled with integration with the IVR for orders, keeps us using them vs. hiring 2 IT people to duplicate what U/C has.

I agree. we've been using ultracart for a few months now and their upsell/downsell system is awesome. I actually cancelled my 1sc account about 2 months before they released their upsell express engine so I didn't get a chance to test it out. However I'm more than happy to stick with ultracart now. It also integrates seamlessly with most major fulfillment houses which is perfect if you have any physical products in your sales funnel.

Best of all, it's HALF the price of 1sc!

If you go to http://www.ultra-cart.com (instead of ultracart.com) you can get a 60 day free trial instead of their usual 30 days (same service, just redirects to a different sign up page ).

1ShoppingCart released Upsell Express on December 9th; a robust multi-offer 1-Click upsell engine that allows upsells, downsells and even split testing.

We also included comprehensive reports that allow you to analyze the success (or failure) of your offers, helping you to make the best choices to improve ROI.
