Best Autoresponder Software

Hi. Can anyone recommend me an autoresponder software. It can be either a free or paid autoresponder software and if it is a paid autoresponder software, it must allow debit cards or bank transfer as a payment method. Thanks

Aweber is a great one to start with. It's $1 your first month and $20 the months after. You can also sign up as an affiliate and refer the system to others. It's not that hard to use as well so it would be great to give it a shot.

Aweber is probably the most popular but there are a lot of people's thoughts about the other ones if you search this very website. And bear in mind that it might be a good idea not to put all of your eggs into one basket....

      Kind regards,

      John

The rates increase as your list grows. Once you get over 2500 subscribers, you pay $30/month and so on.

Assuming you mean best and not really good, cheap or free... then Aweber is up there. Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, Get Response etc., they're all good too.

If you don't mind getting emails once in awhile after signup, Listwire is free and it does what it claims.

I'm going to buck the trend a bit. I know Aweber seems to be the favorite with most IMers (I have an Aweber account also), but I have to say that I really like Mail Chimp too.

It's completely free for a list up to 2000 subscribers. If you're just starting out and you want to save the $20/month, it's a really good no-cost option. After 2000 subscribes, the pricing is very competitive.

From my experience, they are very reliable and seem to get the emails through the spam filiters just as effectively as Aweber.

I've tried a few and think that Aweber is the best because it is so easy and intuitive to use, and the support is good. I think that Mail Chimp is also good and is free, at least to begin with.

I would suggest you go with Aweber. Imnicamail is a good alternative and very much cheaper not sure if they accept credit cards easy to check
      though.
Just a heads up mail chimp dos not accept affiliates if that's the way you want to go.

I used Aweber, Getresponse and iContact (also Infusionsoft, but it's another price bracket), so I can speak for experience.

First: each service has its quirks.
Second: you CAN'T USE (anymore) iContact for "make money online" or "internet marketing" business.

HOW ICONTACT IS KILLING INTERNET MARKETERS

A friend of mine (no, it didn't happen to me, it's really another person) had built a few lists and managed them with iContact. They went from "make money online", to trading, to a few other things. The infoproducts + affiliate marketing online biz we know and love.

Two weeks ago (Jan 2012) he decided to upgrade to 35,000 contacts on iContact.
Bang! After a few days he got his sending blocked and a request to contact the delivery dept. (it probably triggered a list control, so much for privacy)

He contacted them and they sent an email saying:

I have reviewed your account and unfortunately the content you are sending falls under our prohibited content policy. We will no longer be able to send on your behalf. I have scheduled the account to cancel on 2-24-2012. We wish you the best of luck in your future email marketing efforts.

What is the prohibited content? Pornography? Slave trade? Drugs? 9-11 DVDs?
      No. It's "make money online".

      Here is from their website:

      7. pyramid schemes, multi-level channel and/or network marketing opportunities, including, but not limited to personal work-at-home offers promoting "get rich quick," "build your wealth," and "financial independence" offerings;

So you cannot use iContact to promote ways to get your "financial independence".

I called them to get a confirmation of this folly and the guy at the phone told me "we reserve to check your messages and approve them in case".

Maybe they want to become the Google of email marketing, but they are copying the wrong things.

AWEBER IS OK WITH IM BUT HAS ITS ISSUES

The limitation with Aweber is that you can add contacts to your list in any way you want if it's optin. :-)

This means that if you created an optin list in another system and want to go to Aweber you have to do the optin again (est: you lose 70% of contacts and even more if your business is not in English).

They go to the extreme that you cannot even move contacts you have on Aweber from one list to another! You have to go again thru the optin.

On the other hand, they are ok with "make money online" and IM. I expressely checked with their customer service. It's their bread and butter in fact. (they just don't like porn).

      GETRESPONSE IS SOMEWHAT MORE FLEXIBLE

I must say I haven't used Getresponse for 3 years now, probably they got better. I remember when they moved to the new interface in 2009 we had 1 month of disrupted service, I mean are you serious?

However, Getresponse are more flexible than Aweber (iContact is out).
I mean the people, they try to find solutions. Maybe because they are European, but you can actually talk and find solutions to new problems you can have (try to do it with Aweber).

For instance, if you have a list that you managed in another system (as a client of mine had a few years ago) they accepted an import without re-optin with some deliverability tests and information added to the list (IP and date of registration, that we had).

However, I just checked their website for any sign that they don't like Internet Marketers. BTW, there are less and less IM people using Getresponse from what I see in the lists I am subscribed to, so maybe they are losing grounds.

Here what I found in their Terms of Service:

      (h) offer or disseminate fraudulent goods, services, schemes, or promotions (e.g. make-money-fast schemes, chain letters, pyramid schemes) or engage in any unfair deceptive act or practice;

Ok it seems IM and "make money online" is almost safe with Getresponse (I wish it would be make-money-fast!) and their flexibility should be another factor to trust they won't shut off your IM lists.

But for a "IM loving" email provider, Aweber is the choice.
The only choice it seems. And this is never a nice feeling, I should add.

WE WARRIORS SHOULD MAKE AN EMAIL SERVICE

I mean, how is it possible we have our business managed by 2 companies? Less choice means less quality and higher prices.

I believe we warriors should create an email service for us, by us. There is surely the technical competence here in the forum. And as a collective project there could be the money too.

      What do you think?

Google "GWA Autoresponder". Its a "one-off" payment WP Plugin that has no limits. You can promote whatever you want... no monthly payments... no list limits... its a cool plugin that does what it's supposed to do.

The plugin has "add-ons" that you can buy (for like $8 at the time I bought it) that you can track open rates and CTR, but its still a decent plugin.

You can also import a list without having to make people re-optin. There's a free version of the plugin but you're only able to run 1 campaign with the free one.

The problem with a Wordpress plugin or with ANY script on your server is twofold.
      1) How you manage load with a shared server (you need a dedicated one or a professional SMTP solution)
      2) How you manage the whitelist and blacklist problems (your doman will be blacklisted very easily and then your deliverability goes to zero and your system is ineffective).

This is horrible advice. Those autoresponders will run into all kinds of delivery issues and are not worthy of setting up for a business. The OP is better off taking a trial run of Getresponse, Aweber, or using Imnica Mail.

I've testing most of the major autoresponder softwares out there and they work fine for a little while, until you start building larger lists and running into false positives and other spam-filtering issues.

HI, This only works when you have a dedicated account, your own IP and still the load of a server to consider. For this you pay anything between the amount you would pay for a VPS and autoresponder. up to a hundred dollar just like that.

    Hi Emmedi,

We now have a 30 day trial. Thanks for the kind words about us being flexible and accessible! Even with the huge growth we've been seeing, this is still very important to us and always will be. Personally I think it's cool that someone can reach out to me via PMs or Twitter or email and give me feedback or suggestions.

As Emmedi stated, you can bring a list to us and avoid the confirmation process via our compliancy department. Just contact support and we can test the list...if it's healthy we can waive the confirmations.

    Regards,

This is a little deviation from the thread topic,

I use interspire. As I want the autoresponder installed in my webhosting and I provide service to my clients too. Aweber would be too costly for my clients with over 10,000 subscribers.

    I have a question:

Does autoresponder on my own hosting is a problem ? Like I have heard that web hosts don't allow. I don't have a problem till now, however I'm concerned about what may happen ..

    Your thoughts please.

Depends. If you're running adult, gambling or other high-risk lists, then they will be a problem.

With normal mainstream niches, you'll be ok as long as you have a VPS or Dedicated server to handle the load. Shared hosting always limit the amount of emails you can send.

If the VPS or Dedicated host doesn't let you use their SMTP server, you can always "plugin" to SMTP.com and relay (send) all your messages through them using Interspire. Then you'll be ok. Just make sure you monitor blacklists and stay off them. You'll want to setup "Feedback Loops" with all the major email providers. Feedback loop (email) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Finally, setup SPF records and DomainKeys. If it sounds complicated...it's because it is. That's why I use GetResponse despite knowing how to do all this stuff.

ListWire is free and is good if you have no money.

I used TrafficWave but I didnt like the 1999 looking interface they had and it seemed to be geared more towards MLM people. They also dont allow payment through Paypal (without the use of a debit card) so I left it, and lost all my subscribers with them because support didnt let me export my subscribers.

I then moved onto ImnicaMail but their deliverability was crap, and the majority of my emails ended up in spam. Not sure if their better now...

I am now currently using eBizAc and I am in love! The supports great, the deliverabilitys great, the features are great, and so is the pricing. And they allow payment with Paypal, Clickbank and credit cards, etc.

I highly recommend checking them out!

    Aweber.

When starting out I tested quite a number.

When I first logged in I thought the backend looked a little old school - but now find it so refreshing in contrast to the "uber" new designs of the likes of Mail Chimp.

Aweber is about pure functionality and getting exactly what you need to get done as fast as possible.

Their compliance with can-spam will also ensure you deliverability rate is not compromised.

    100% recommended.

MailChimp HATES affiliates, so I wouldn't use them. If you search the forum you'll find a lot of folks have been burned by them. You'll also find their TOS expressly forbidding affiliate marketing. I'll second Imnica. They've really got things squared away, emails come fast and don't get labeled as spam by gmail etc. Worth it most definitely.

I have been checking three different Autoresponders recently, I will start with the free one since so many people will like to start free and as they grow, upgrade to be a paid member:
    SimplyCast.
Excellent for a freemium offer, you can send your e-mail to up to 2,000 e-mails for free! Then if you have more subscribers, be sure to upgrade, it also offers affiliate marketing options so if you want to join, you can use my link (or do a google search!)
    http://affiliate.simplycast.com/affi...?a_aid=6244375
    The second option is RocketResponder
This is not free but they do have a very interesting way of pricing. They will charge $20 USD for every 10,000 subscribers! So it is very competitive and very easy to do the math on how much you will have to pay. The offer a free 30 day trial. Here is the link:
    Rocket Responder - Landing
The last one is one of the most comprehensive I have seen yet, it is called Trafficwave. It has a very simple pricing plan: $17.95 per month to up to 10,000 subscribers. It also has the opportunity for a business if you can refer more affiliates. I have seen plenty of IM just joining to sell TW affiliate program. Here's the link:

I have been using trafficwave for the last 2 years. However their delivery rate and mail open rate seems to have reduced to very low level during the last 2 months. I have around 7500 subscribers and on average 1000 subscribers will click on the links in mails but now it has lowered to the level of just few hundred. They are claiming that this problem is now common for all auto responders, but I am not sure about that.
