SocialMonkee.com Review

I've written a review of SocialMonkee here you can read in full.

Basically what you get is a bunch of links from a collection of PR0 sites that Socialmonkee has put up. They are not proper bookmarking sites. I bought the package of 100 backlinks and analysed the links.

I wouldn't recommend socialmonkee. Just thought I would share and save you all some time and money.

Thanks for the review, I was wondering whether to sign up for this service. Lots of options out there so I want to get feedback and reviews from WF members before I purchase services now.

I signed up to SocialMonkee months ago and I tried submitting my links. Nope, didn't see any positive effect on my blogs.

I am not thrilled with socialmonkee however when I check my site's backlinks I do find many of them indexed, and my site is ranking on page one of google for about 5 different competitive keywords. Socialmonkee did not get me there (an article blasting service did) but the socialmonkee links do *seem* to add some juice.

Not sure if it's worth the upgrade but the free version is probably worth it. I have seen it recommended by some very good marketers who are making thousands a month with their sites.

    UPDATE!
This was written 5 days before my sites TANKED with the Penguin update .

Was it SocialMonkee that caused it? I don't know for sure but from what I now know about Google hating spammy links, I'd say it def. played a part in my sites getting BANISHED by Google from p1 to like p30!

Also I have recently read other posts saying all of SocialMonkee's backlinking sites were de-indexed. I don't know if they have a new system in place now to deal with google's algorithms or not, but I am skeptical of using ANY automated link building.

Some SEO experts insist that using SEnuke and so on to blast links can still be beneficial - in fact my experience contacting severeal SEO service indicates they ALL do this. They say that these spammy backlinks to your TIER 2 sites are okay. I say "Okay, but how long before google punishes you for having Tier 2 sites that have hundreds or thousands of spammy links pointing at them?!"

Google is not stupid. They may be a-holes, but they're NOT stupid! So sooner or later (probably very soon!) ALL of these automated linking schemes are going to be de-indexed, and along with it will be your site(s) that you've linked using them.

Yeah I like others signed up a while ago and have been trying to use them religiously on an almost daily basis. I did get the one time upgrade and I can say I do see the links stick around for a while. But like others not sure if I can say an movement has occurred because of then. But I use SocialMonkee for getting my sites index etc as those links or sites get crawled A lot so it does help from that perspective.

Just analyse the links and you will see that Socialmonkee is basically a fake network they have set up. They don't use real sites such as Twitter, Google Plus, Delicious, Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon, etc.

I didn't get the paid version of social monkee. Having been using the free version. If you are on a budget it is probably best to go with the free version.

I have different results than everyone else. Maybe because I took it a step further.

The sites they use (SocialMonkee) maybe crappy but that's fine with me. If you read any of the industry SEO blogs they emphasize mixing your backlinks from various sources. They all don't have to be from good authoritative sites. They can be from crappy sites too!

Anyways, Social Monkee gives you a report of all the sites in their network that were used to bookmark your url. I take all the urls in that report ( usually 100 from the free version ) and ping them with pingfarm. This alerts the search engines quickly to index them.

Then I use one of my backlinking services to create backlinks to those 100 urls ( its a good idea to create backlinks to your backlinks). I manage to stay at the top for all my keywords doing this. At the time of writing this post, I checked one of my campaigns and they are slowly climbing the ranks.

The sites they use may not be the best but a backlink is a backlink. Not all of your backlinks will stay intact. It is almost inevitable that you will have some links de-indexed by Google. You just have to be diligent and always have a backlinking campaign going for your sites.

I didn't know you could get a report of backlinks when using the free version? I thought it was only for the paid version...?

Same here, but it only takes me a few minutes to throw in a few Hundred Links a day, there may be some benefit to it.

Sorry, you'll get no benefit. Every site that I checked of theirs has been completely de-indexed in Google. Plus they are all templated sites that they own, not mainstream widely used bookmarking sites.

My experience with social monkee wasn't a great one! I used social monkee to build backlinks to my backlinks about 2 months ago to my niche site and it ended up in the dog on "Google sandbox" lol... It had to be social monkee because I was at the top of the 2nd page of Google before I used SM.

But since Google has been making changes to their Algorithm that particular is now out the sandbox...

Overall, I most likely will not use social monkee again...

Social Monkee allows us to spin the Title / Description, I guess. We can't rely on only SM to get into 1st page of Google, but I hope this will give some results to power up your link juice.

All I am interested is if Google will de-index these kind of sites too? Because, they have our links are bookmarked using different profile accounts, different IPs, and spin versions of the title/description to look it natural.

Thanks for your review. I do not like to spend bucks on a product which I do not have control. We do not have any control where Social Monkee is creating the links for us. Moreover links on spam sites downgrade rank in the eye of search engine instead of bringing any true value.

I quit using SM too after analyzing the sites my backlinks were being put on. There for a while they were giving people the opportunity to own a social bookmarking site and SM was going to provide all the content.
I dont hear a lot said about social adr but they are free you just have to do the work of setting up all of the accounts, I think you get a better backlinking experience with them since your backlinks are being put on other peoples accounts instead of being spammed onto sites that nobody ever visits.

Yes, socialadr is a much better way to go imho, however it still isn't totally "white hat" and so I'm somewhat worried about using it. I am experimenting with it but am not ready to make a full on endorsement.

SocialMonkee is basically for getting your site indexed and building a randomized link profile. You should not rely on this for top rankings, but to add to your link profile. Plus, you need to upgrade to get your links automatically indexed; then download your list of URLs and send them through a back-linking service. (Note: You can have all this done automatically inside SocialMonkee's Elite package.)

If you want a really good social bookmarking service, then try SocailADR. Remember, you have to pay for the Good Stuff.

it's recommended by many, but I agree with you... it's a bit crap!
Plus, it's not very user-friendly (that's on top of the dodgy links it provides, of course).
I would also NOT recommend using it.

I purchased SocialMonkee, they made it sound I great, I even purchased the upgrade. Now after reading all the bad reviews I'm worried that I wasted my money and I have harmed my websites by using SM. They have been around a long time, so how do they continue to operate if they are a bad service?

Really? SocialMonkee was a con then, and is a con now. Far better to build your own high quality links rather than buy some cheap crappy links that add no value.

Writing a press release and submitting it to free press release directories would be a better option.
