WYSIJA Wordpress newsletter plugin

Wysija: a Newsletter Plugin for WordPress

Does anyone have any experience with this plugin? I'm curious about delivery rates, ease of use, user friendliness, etc. A client of mine is dubious of using a third-party autoresponder despite my best effort to convince him of the benefits. So I'm thinking of trying this as a compromise.

Anyway, any insight into this plugin (or others like it) would be much appreciated. Thanks Warriors.

I just installed it on my site, looks easy to use.

If you use their default template that comes with install/activation, you can change background colors, text colors, link colors/sizes and add in your own headers and footers. Unsubscribe link at the bottom (that's a plus for me). They have a page to show you how to make your own theme too (a little much for me, I'll just reset the settings every time until I can find a pro for cheap).

It won't fit everybody, but it does exactly what I need: sends post excerpts with pic and links to the site.

In fact, all I really need is to find somebody who can make a cool subscribe box for me inexpensively. All subscribe boxes in these programs are plain rectangle and I have a different idea. Anyway, I'm on to find that person now...

    All the best.

I’d explain it to you, but your brain would explode.

Also they recommend using an smtp, not your webhost, for emailing. They say it will improve deliverability, and it's cheap.

      Elasticmail is one mentioned.

Wysija (or Mailpoet currently) is really one of the best plugins I have used and delivers more than you ask. You can use it for free under 2000 subscribers, so that's one big advantage. I should add that using third party SMTP mail delivery service with Wysija is very much recommended. One drawback is that if your hosting provider is GoDaddy, you can use only Elasticemail or Sendgrid SMTP mail delivery service with Wysija.
Other than that - I definitely recommend it.
