What is the best FREE PDF compiler?

I'm looking for a good PDF compiler to start putting some free reports and guides together.

Do any exist? I'm assuming they do but didn't have luck using google. I have photoshop, but you can't save multiple pages together. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks! - Red

Not sure exactly what you mean by a compiler, but I use Apache OpenOffice - The Free and Open Productivity Suite to do all my pdf ebooks.

I use Adobe Acrobat 9 to merge PDFs together. It is really easy to use, and it gives you several options on how to do it.

Hi Red, one option maybe is to copy your images from PhotoShop into Word 2007 or 2010, and you can Save As to PDF or OpenOffice if you don't use Word. Otherwise you can use something like CutePDF to print to PDF, and use a free online service like pdfmerge[dot]com to merge your PDFs together?

I'm using LibreOffice. It's freeware and almost fully compatible with WordPress docs.

    Hi,
If you're using Word 07/2010 , you can save as pdf easily. However you will need a software to convert pdf to word because Word cannot open pdf directly.
I use this free Free PDF to Word Converter.
See screenshot at PDF to Word Converter

Usually I avoid the type that converts online which may take a long time.

For paid software, I'm using nuance.com which is really one of the best

    cheers,

I use PDF Creator... you basically open any Microsoft Office Suite product and hit print... and select PDF Creator as the printer and it prints it to PDF.... exactly. Amazing software and it's free!!

PDFCreator | Free Business & Enterprise software downloads at SourceForge.net

    Hope this helps,

The freely available Openoffice is great and so is newer versions of MS Word. There are many other options like Nitro PDF, Cute PDF and many more available online. Most of these have inactive links in the final product, so if you need to have working links, use Openoffice or MS Word.

Microsoft Word isn't able to create clickable hyperlinks in your PDF files. This is a very important thing to have in your PDFs in my opinion, so you can link to your site, your product, and/or affiliate offers in your PDF.

    Open Office does this flawlessly.
