Hi Everyone,

On Friday Flippa suspended mine account. A user whome i sold site a year ago ruquested for it. They stated for violating the guidlines. This was a new site and i delivered each and everything promised in the listing. Infact user left positive feedback for transaction, and even a positive feedback for the quality of site (after 8 months).

I kept on providing even extra services (many hours of work), which were not mentioned in mine listing, but user kept on asking more and more. At certain point i was not able to do further, as done enough in courtesy.

User went to flippa and flippa suspended mine account even without taking my version. I mailed to flippa stating my case and today they updated status of request as solved, without even answering mine query and keeping my account suspended.

I provided everything i promised in listing, user left positive feedback for the transaction and quality (after 8 months). Now if someone file a complain, atleast flippa should have took my version or reply to my query.

I am finding it highly unfair and unethical treatment. I have everything to pove that i provided way more than i listed plus more than a year support, but they even did't took my version. If this is the way they operate, everyone can go and get their competitors down ???

Any similar Experiences ??

    Wow..

I guess the reason that they did not take your version is because the side with the nuyers, very much like paypal.

if you have the energy, hire a lawyer, explain him the situation and ask him to read all flippas terms and conditions to see if he can find anything to sue on.

    if not? well...

It may be a technical issue but if not then there must have been something wrong somewhere along the line. if you really have not done anything wrong anywhere then you should keep contacting customer support

    Good luck!

Thanks, i will keep doing that. But there should be some procedure before suspending someone account, specially when a listing is live.

What i am not able to pick is that, they are considering request of the buyer who himself left positive feedbacks for transaction and quality. Atleast take mine version and then decide, as i have everything to prove. This way a competitor can very easily get anyone down..

I just replied them again, requesting to indicate me their "Term & Condition" clause which states to suspend user account just on a single buyer request without taking version of seller even when the buyer himself left positive transaction and quality feedbacks in the past for the same transactions.

Hi IMGem -- your account has now been reinstated.

Some sellers ask why we're quick to suspend accounts and auctions when there is evidence of fraud. We have to help protect our buyers -- if suspending listings while we investigate the fraud accusation means that buyers don't buy fraudulent websites, that's a choice we'll make every time.

In this case, there were other issues at stake beyond the report of fraud, which I can't discuss in public but should be clear from your email interactions with our support team. Once those were cleared up, we were able to reinstate your account.

      Thanks OLechat,

Actually there is been a little misunderstanding from my part also, i seen issue resolved in support ticket yet seeing account suspended and no communication in response. Actually issue was resolved but account kept suspended due an invoice which became over due in suspension time. And i persumed it as initial suspension.

Thanks everyone for help and next time will try to be less panic in similar situation and a better title for the thread.. ;-)

Glad you got things cleared up. While Flippa sometimes gets a bad reputation, I've found that they are extremely fair to sellers and their customer support is top-notch. My initial thought was unpaid invoice -- glad you got things set up.

Regarding the buyer -- it happens. I had one buyer in particular who didn't even check out the site he bid on and won from me. After he won the site, he realized the website didn't have a specific functionality to it and told me the site was broken. I made the mistake of trying to help the guy out by hiring a programmer at my own expense to set up the functionality he wanted and explained to him that it was a favor since I wanted to keep all of my customers happy.

Anyway, he continued to complain incessantly about something being "fishy", so I gave him a full refund, contacted Flippa and was able to re-list at no charge with no issues. Then sold at a higher value. Oddly enough, I caught the guy leaving negative comments on other people's legitimate auctions -- I think he's suspended now. Major thumbs up to Flippa customer service.

Hope this doesn't keep you away from Flippa selling going forward. Pay your bills and, if someone gets out of line, pass it on to Flippa customer service and don't take things personally. They've helped me deal with bad buyers multiple times.

  • Until now I got an excellent feedback from Flippa, and everytime I've contacted support for problems with non-paying buyers, I've got all fixed up in a day.
Awesome support, really one of the best.

I'm happy you solved your problem ImGem!

    See you soon,

Once again account been suspended. I checked and found that there was created a link in mine profile to a suspended account. I have no link whatsoever to that account and as linked account was suspended mine account was also suspended.

Upon contacting they mentioned that they detected the same mail from "who is" info of one of listed site of the user in past. I checked and discovered that i sold a site a year ago to the user and he did't updated his "who is" info.

Posting just to educate you people that when you transfer your domain after sale, please make user update "who is" info of the domain too.

I think flippa doing best on their part to provide whatever information they have of seller, writing here just to give my two cents to better this particular criterea as many times it cannot be accurate and can harm the itegrity of a seller, as buyer start to suspect the seller if account suspended.

Great to see someone from Flippa come on, even if it's just to acknowledge a thread like that.

With these sorts of threads, I usually assume there is more to it than is immediately apparent. I believe egregious 'wrongs' are pretty rare, even more so when they involve substantial known entities.

A great deal of business on Flippa comes directly or indirectly through Warriors and this forum. I've personally done hundreds of thousands in deals on Flippa, plus taught a few hundred others to do so.

Often, it's companies that don't make the time to chime in that end up leaving a 'bad taste', almost regardless of the issues at hand.

Especially at this end of the IM industry, too many people see companies and individuals 'go silent' as validation of complaints.
