Their phphmyadmin is horribly slow and always times out. It is only good simple .asp web pages. Cheers

    First, what are you requirements?

    What's your budget?

How many sites are you looking to host?

What are those sites based on?

How much traffic do they get?

    What features would you like?

I worked with mochahost for a year and it was really terrible expirience.
They promice 100% (99.99% before) uptime and compensation for service down - don't even expect to see something close to this. The worst month I had 70%(!) uptime. No DDoS attacs, no overload, no actions from my side at all - more likely mocha just maintained something. But when I raised a ticket for compensation - they proposed me 3% discount instead of 100% as the had to according to their SLA. Explanation was as simple as "everything was ok on our side". I had a proove from few monitoring services, but who cares if mocha is so excellent.
When service expired I had not time to deal with transferring so I created a new account on mocha and get a 180-day risk-free guarantee they have. That whas my mistake. Service quality became really awkward in 2 weeks. Finally when I got full of this s..t, I decided to move to another hosting and asked mocha support to cancel my new account and get my money back. Imagine my disappointment when they closed my account and put my refund to INTERNAL ACCOUNT BALANCE. So, instead of my money I got stupid $135 mocha credits I can't even use!
I didn't even expected some company can give so colorful promices to potential customers and so shamelessly disort agreements treating people bringing them money as a crap. Mocha gave me an expencive lesson on this.

I've had the same experience as Veton. Absolutely the worst hosting I've had. Standard answer when sites don't load "Everything looks fine from here". Forget about refund, forget about support, forget about uptime, to summarize FORGET Mochahost if you want to live happily ever after!

I made the mistake of signing up with Mochahost a few months ago and now I'm basically starting over looking for a new host.

Their cpanel lags considerably and is noticeably slower than all other hosts I've used.

Their lighting fast guarantee is rubbish. I had a 22 sec load time on my site just by installing a wordpress theme with dummy content and 30 second background video .

Their Unlimited Bandwidth is just plain untrue. I could not even install woocommerce to my purchased theme because the entire site would go down.

I contacted support and they couldn't care less to try to help me. Eventually they sent a support ticket and said it would be resolved within an hour and no one replied beyond asking me to provide them with woocommerce requirements. I provide such and never heard back.

    Here's my Server stats

    Server Stats
    CPU Usage 68 / 100 %
    Physical Memory Usage 220.3 / 500 MB
    Disk /dev/sda2 (/usr) 81 %
    Disk /dev/sda3 (/var) 82 %
    Disk /dev/sdc1 (/home) 95 %

What does all of this mean and can someone please recommend a much much better host?

It means that the server is nearing its capacity, of course, we don't know if that's average usage, below average or if it's spiked at the moment. Check it a few times and compare the results.

Thanks for the reply. It's just frustrating that I haven't even had my first visitor or been able to install a simple plugin like woocommerce without the site going blank.

    I keep getting Internal Server Error 500 Apache/2.2.24 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.24 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips DAV/2 mod_python/3.3.1 Python/2.7.5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_jk/1.2.35 mod_fcgid/2.3.6 mod_perl/2.0.6 Perl/v5.10.1

It might be best for you to find yourself a more reliable web host. Keep in mind though, problems do happen - what makes the difference is how they're dealt with.

I had them and then dropped them within the 30 day guarantee as it seemed impossible to get the site up and running correctly and even though it was issues on their side they would extend the guarantee another 30 day for me to see if they had resolved all issues or not. That being said I decided it would be best to go elsewhere.

Thank you for the reply rlm1966.

It has been 4 days now and my issue is still unresolved. All I needed to do was install 2 wp plugins that were required for my theme, Woocommerce and Contact Form 7.

I finally had the bandwidth to install woocommerce today and as soon as I installed Contact Form 7, the site went blank and I got this error.

    Apache/2.2.24 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.24 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips DAV/2 mod_python/3.3.1 Python/2.7.5 mod_bwlimited/1.4 mod_jk/1.2.35 mod_fcgid/2.3.6 mod_perl/2.0.6 Perl/v5.10.1

I can't even access my dashboard. I'm stuck and no help from support.

I have no faith in Mochahost after they claim that I have unlimited bandwidth and they claim lighting fast hosting and yet I can't even load a simple plugin without crashing my site.

Do you mind mentioning a better host since I'm not very savvy in this area?
