With the new forum setup I really don't know where I should be posting this question. Anyway here it is: I'm looking for a secure way to have a download page for my ebook product. I came across the 'smartdd' software. Google it to find the link. Looks promising. What are your experiences if any with this? Any other good alternatives? Thanks bz |

I have a copy and find it to be excellent value. Vs 3 will soon be replaced by vs 4 and you'll get a free upgrade with the extra features that will make it competitive with much higher priced programs. Even the present version very capably handles sales, distributions and downloads. Ivan |

My partner installed this for our product sales. So far, so good. Maybe I can get him to comment in more detail. This ain't my greatest strength!

I own this, really like the product and recommend it to all my private customers. I've used it since the first incarnation. It will deliver paid and free goods, digital and physical products and interfaces to Kunaki to boot. With the automatic followups and OTO capacity, it really is a nice secure digital delivery system / shopping cart. Most importantly, Frank listens to his customers. He always adds great features to his line up of useful products. (Several of my personal suggestions have appeared in subsequent releases.) I can't wait to see what he has cooked up for version 4! You cannot to wrong with SmartDD or any of Frank Haywood's products. |

Hi bz, I started using SmartDD ver. 2.0 with my ebay sales some time ago. Recently, in order to automate the sales and fulfillment process of our new physical product, Front Door Pages 2.0, I took advantage of the special offer that Frank was running. Now using version 3.0 and beleive it's worth every penny. SmartDD completely automate the process from the buyer submiting payment at PayPal to send the order for our Product to Kunaki. It has even thwarted some attempts at "spoofed" orders. The documentation seems to be spread out in different areas, but if you go through it step by step you should find it very useful. We are not currently using the digital download feature at this time. We may start using it to deliver our special free report on Local Business Promotion, soon. Hope this helps. |

I use a ton of different scripts (I love to play around with them), including SmartDD. It's a solid performer, pretty easy to install and it will protect your digital downloads. It also has a nice little feature. It can automatically email a follow up message to your customer 24 hours after their purchase. You can customize the email to be whatever you want. A courtest call that they managed to download ok, or a special offer. DL Guard is another great script, but it's currently a little bit more expensive than SmartDD. You can even protect your digital download with the $7 Secrets scripts, if you use the system properly. That's only $7. Amin |

I've been corresponding with Frank (the publisher of SmartDD) and he's told me of many improvements being added to the program for the new release of vs 4. This includes membership, subscriptions handling and an affiliate management scheme. Those who buy vs 3, the current release, will get a free upgrade. Ivan |

This looks like what I've been looking for, especially the digital and physical through Kunaki. Thanks, all.

| I need some very basic help with SmartDD. Just had ii installed. I can discuss payment for a possible template/example of a Free Giveaway setup to run (but I will not actually use it). And perhaps Ttemplate example also of the Capture-Page and Redirect from that. You see, I have a considerable vision problem along with a very non-technical background. I do not know code and make countless syntax errors and mistakes in trying to do this sort of thing on my own. I can use a Template or working sample and substitute my own data many times. I'm the ad copy, marketing guy. I am just starting out and I am not quite ready to pay for outsourcing of these hings yet. My prgammer did installl the script but that ends his part of the project. If anyone can be of help to get me going with this from square one I am open to discussing fair terms with them. Please let me know message at WF or email. |

According to the manual of vs 3, if you attempt to install it when you already have an earlier version installed: "If you're doing an upgrade, you should cancel now to prevent all your data being overwritten. There is a separate installer for upgrades in the SmartDD.com members area." There is your answer - go to the members area of SmartDD and download the special installer required for upgrades. Ivan |

I am almost done with the v3 sMARTDD Install. The license seems to generate OK but when I uploaded the file to the server the continue to Database Configuration brings up an error message that it does not find a valida license. I have saved the license file as an html file and then a text file but neither worked. Support has not responded and the FAQ do not refer to a fix for this specific problem. Can anyone help? Thanks |

Hi, Snowcat. I don't want to claim that I can do Frank's (the author) job. You may get results, or at least more information, by contacting him through his forum. He has set up one for SmartDD and other products that he promotes. I notice that he's made recent comments on the SmartDD forum. There were some problems with his server recently but I just tested the link and it is working fine now. You can access the forum here: Vendiva Community Forum - Index Ivan |
