Host Change

Hello
I am with SiteSell, which has served me reasonably well (although I'm in a sticky spot with them just now - see "Name Change" thread).

Anyway, I've been advised to "move up" from SiteSell, because SiteSell is for beginners (so I'm told - I'm a beginner myself) and other hosts offer more (I'm not sure what the more is).

My question is - can I just sort of move my whole site over to another host, more or less intact? Or, if I change my host, will I have to rebuild my site from scratch - page by page. As I already have 100 pages on my site, that would be a daunting proposition.

Help!

    All you have to to is ftp your website to your computer. Then upload it to the other server. Easy as Cake. If you have databases you might want to download the back up. PM me and I can help you do it.

      And what do you mean if I have "databases"?

      You can see I'm pretty green! Like maybe a very deep shade of green!

          Hi Lazi
          Transferring the site from one host to another one is easy.Just download all the files and reupload to the new host.I hope that the site is simple with HTML files.
          If it is a wordpress,then download entire content folder.
          Export your posts,pages,comments,categories and tags as a xml file.You can do that under Tools section of wordpress dashboard.
          Reupload the content file to the new host after you have installed the wordpress.Import the xml file to the wordpress.

          That's it.

          By the way,You can pm anybodyby clicking the username.Pop up gives options for pm,email etc..
