Ultimate Video Curator - thoughts?

I'm seeing e-mails touting a new product from Alex Goad and another marketer called Ultimate Video Curator. It's a WP plug that automates the process of finding relevant videos to post at a site along with curated comments, plus a theme and a couple other items. It looks good, and it looks like something I could use for my .tv domains, but I'm wondering if anyone here has purchased this product and, if so, your thoughts on the product. Also, if you you did purchase, is there an OTO included.

Thanks.

    Blazon1,
I've seen it too. What I'd like to know that I didn't see in the video is how they're being monetized. Another thing that concerns me is Alex Goad. His reputation seems to be that he tends to abandon his software. Interestingly along that theme the offer does not have an about us page, or any way th contact Alex. Those things make me nervous, so I haven't decided on the software yet.
    Just my opinion...

Yes, I noticed that, too, also no mention of who the second person is that is involved with the launch, although his (I assume it's a he) illegible signature is on the sales page. Don't know much about Alex, but most IM'ers abandon their products fairly quickly, especially if they aren't the creators of the products, which is probably the case here.

I've followed video and content curating for a while. There seems to be a little more than point and click to these systems. You might want to check out other programs like Viral Video Content Pro - Hugh HItchcock or WP Video Sense - Peter Garety, Both have substantial search records. - Bill

Yeah, I wish this was a forum launch. Bryan is a young kid that has had some successful launches on the forum but sometimes his service can be slow. I own a few of his products and at times you need to keep on him to get the service you need. That said...he has launched some pretty cool products on here.

    Byran McConnahea - Profile

    View Profile: Bryan Mc

    Some of his launches:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...live-demo.html

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...arent-you.html

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...left-demo.html

Here is an interview Han Fan did with him regarding the Ultimate Video Creator and the OTO's.

I own the pro versions all of Hugh's curation products... VVC, VIC and ICC and in my experience he certainly is a bit more responsive than Bryan is --> but Hugh also works with other programmers so he does not always have all the answers...but he does reply to concerns, no doubt about that.

That said, Hugh's VVC is a desktop software and it will also send stuff to social media (twitter, facebook and pinterest) and he has a syndication module available for purchase as well...which is the only way to do self hosted with VVC --> UVC does not have the syndicator built in, but will do self hosted. Like Bryan's software Hugh's software will schedule posts but it does not have the related videos, RSS and YouTube comments stuff built in like Bryan's plugin does.

I have been working/playing around using Garety's RSS plugin (I don't have the pro version) and the free related videos plugin to do what Ultimate Video Creator does and it can do it...sorta...but it would be nice to have the UVC plugin. I am not positive but I believe for early buyers a couple of free bonuses are offered with the higher priced front end offer(s).

A few OTO's are available, one of them being some sort of video sitemap plugin...I have been using the free video sitemap plugin to see how how well it works.

Another OTO is available which is an expensive package of Bryan's plugins...and I think an info OTO is available as well.

I was glad to see the package of plugins offered as it should mean that he will continue to support some of the plugins that I already own.

I am still on the fence with UVC...I already have lots of curators and Mark D's Covert Player --> but UVC is very cool, and I want it, but ongoing service is also my concern.

    Hope that helps.

ForumGuru, is this the free video sitemap plugin you were referring to? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...ps-for-videos/

This is what Todd Gross said in one of his emails that I believe is the info OTO:
(There is an option to get 6 extra modules of advanced
training once you have the software - the price of which
will shock you - get that extra training, we want you
      in this group)

Jimp1, same concerns here regarding Alex Goad. He does seem to abandon his software, plus last year I tried numerous times to retrieve a substantial bonus offered by him (for a substantial purchase) using the support desk he provided. It was a joke: the 'support' desk literally sends you around in circles and had no where for bonus requests - only a drop-down for each of his products which you're eventually forced to use.
After finally creating an account there and putting in your request there isn't even an acknowledgement email. So good luck on that.
As far as monetizing I guess you just have to get the training modules, or stick in an Adsense or affiliate link where you can.

I'm still on the fence as well. If people are so glued to these videos, as the site infers, when ARE they going to click on anything else?

      Anyone else?

Edit: I located the link for Alex's help desk. I had to recreate an account so, of course, my previous tickets were not there. I put in a test ticket, with a small and polite gripe thrown in, and this time received an acknowledgement email which included this text:

Please note that we've just recently switched to a new support desk powered by Zendesk. If you're receiving this new ticket notification after replying to a ticket that is already open and existing, it is because your ticket has now been transferred to the new support desk. The agent you were communicating with will continue correspondence. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of transition.

Also note that the new support desk is located at http://supportchamps.zendesk.com -- any future support request can be made there, or you can simply email support as normal.
      ----

So, there is a way to contact him, and BTW....Ultimate Video Curator is in the drop down at the help desk, but this line in that email is laughable: Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of transition.

Let me just add my two cents to whether or not it's worth video curating on a site. Oh, yeah... big time. At least for getting page-ranked, your posts to appear in the serps, and a first page boost for your own YT videos.

Without using any of the later video curation "tools" I bought, I grabbed just one of the automated video posters I got in Tom Ness' Charity WSO for Addison Locke last spring... and on October 30th, started systematically adding about 10 videos per day to one niche site, using 15 categories.

Within one month, that site went from 4,000,000 to less than 1 million on Alexa, and now 3 1/2 months later, it's ranked around 400,000 globally and went from 0 Page Rank to a 2. It's not monetized yet (yeah, I NOW need to do that), but has a tone of page one rankings for individual posts.

In the midst of that back in December, when YouTube changed up quite a few things, ALL my 2500 videos disappeared! OMG! Had to go back and re-embed the codes on each post. So haven't had time to finish the process of what I had planned.

But get this... there is NOTHING on those posts except the VIDEO itself. Nothing. No description, no comments, no article, no nothing. Obviously, my plan was to go back AFTER it got indexed and ADD the associated article to the post. My thinking was I would get double the bang for my time by "updating" it in layers, rather than just in one long post.

Boy, was I shocked to see this site take off like a rocket. The unfortunate video plugin debacle with the missing embed codes took a month's work to fix (with 500 still to go) so I STILL have not added the articles to these posts. Still, I'm gaining rank daily, though the 3 month and 1 month data are beginning to level off.

Bottom line... is that when visitors stop by they view around 13 different pages, spend more than 24 minutes (leveling out from 30+ minutes) on the site with a consistent 69 seconds on each page they visit. The bounce rate was less than 40% but now is inching higher and I'm guessing it will level at around 50%. That's mainly because ALL the videos scroll on the front page and are completely viewable there, so they never really have to leave the front page.

So if I had it set up differently, where you had to leave the front page, who knows, those figures would probably be much higher and the bounce rate much lower.

When I add the articles and other additions, layering each for repeated serp impact, I think it will only get better.

My take on this is to forget about the SERPs... as I only get 6% of my traffic from Google. I concentrate on the niche, bring in my own traffic, and Alexa and SEMrush and Google and all the others take note of the traffic and the fact people are hanging out on my site a damn long time (based on average results elsewhere) and they don't give a flip on what's bringing that traffic there. They're just reflecting what IS and ranking accordingly.

So should you start adding or curating video content? A better question is... why are you waiting so long to do it?

          Just my thoughts...

And by the way, that site is sloooooooooow as molasses and STILL people endure it and stay there anyway, lol. I mean... the stats tell me it is 86% slower than any other site on the internet, lol. And only a couple dozen posts even have meta tags or descriptions... almost ZERO seo at all! No kidding!

The point being... you CANNOT mess this up! Just put the dang videos on your site... NOW... and stop wasting time, lol.

But is this a fluke? Nope. I did this on a dozen brand new sites in various niches... same kind of thing happened. It's weird, bizarre, head-scratching stuff, I know. But... it works. Why? Who knows. I think that if you just pick a niche where people have lots of questions and want to get quick answers without a lot of reading... and you go grab a couple thousand videos that answer their questions very well... and organize those videos into categories that they can easily navigate... well, then... I think you've got yourself a traffic magnet that even Google can't screw up.

At least... those are my thoughts...

Thank you, ForumGuru...I think this was a classic forum mixup where I was making the edit while you were kindly including an answer to my question. While searching for Alex's help desk I also found the video site map plugin. Seems it would have popped right up in the search at wordpress . org. No, but there were 61 results. Went right to it at the same site by doing a Google search.
I had inadvertently placed my question within your quote....duh.

Well, technically I did purchase UVC and the sitemap and I do have the links to the funnel, OTO pages, and members area. The problem is I believe I purchased when they were testing the funnel because the prices were too good to be true! I got my receipts and JVZOO links but my links to the members area lead nowhere good. I hit the proper buy buttons --> but I guess they were late getting the proper funnel prices in-place. I was hoping it was one of those rare ultra-fast moving dime sales but I guess that was not the case as the prices do seem to be fixed.

Do you think I should send my transaction ID's to support and request my products?

D__n sure - For the life of me I don't know how you 'found' that funnel but wasn't it their fault for even having those links and prices in place? Unless you found it by, uh....unscrupulous methods, then go to the support desk. You have the receipts!

I accessed on the up and up. Han Fan the interview man had the sales page and links up. I had watched the interview the day before and hen came back to check the price. I made sure I was there at opening thinking it was going to be a dime sale.

Personally I'm not big on curated content because even though you use your "block quotes", etc, you still seem to not have great results in the search engines.
I say that with the Google Panda & Penguin, you are better off just either creating your own content from scratch or hiring low budget writers for this.

He said that it was a real pain to install it-he had to have his host enable "exec" whatever that is and they were very reluctant to do so. then he said after installing it they disabled it.

Anybody else have any issues installing it ?

So it has to run on your server? Any bandwidth issues if you host the videos on your site?

Yeah curation works for sure as I curated an image site back in 2005 (before they called it curation I think) that was doing almost a half-million page views a day, most all of them were from Google. I have not touched the site since (other than maintenance) and it's still doing 30,000 to 75,000 page views a day almost 8 years later.

Yeah, I sat on the number 1 or 2 ranks for a few very big keywords for a very long time, and the site ranked #1 or 2 on hundreds of key phrases...it's slipped to the bottom of page 1 due to pure neglect as it's on an old, old server that can't take any of the good stuff, and I will break the site if I update the server. I curated several other image sites that did well in 2006 and 2007 and are still alive today so I know curation does work, and it can be monitized, as I have had my share of $100 days and a $1000 day or two. I did not get rich off the sites but if I would have kept at it --> and monitized them better, who knows??

Unfortunately many years later videos have overtaken images in popularity and I still own 60+ photo and image domains...woops...gotta start picking up some new domain soon! I also need to pound the social media as back in the day it was not needed and I avoided it like the plague...dumb, dumb, dumb!

Anyway, curation works for lots of folks in many different ways!

@Robin --> I purchased that Tom Ness charity package and never used a thing in it. Darn it. Just for grins --> what is the autoposter you used from that WSO?

Edit: I just logged back in to the charity WSO and saw that it is AutoTube Press...I have tried that one out but have not used it for "real". In-fact I just pulled it out the other day and tried it on my test site.

I now make it a rule to come here and check out other peoples' ideas before buying something. So thanks, everyone for this! I originally heard about this via an Affiliorama email, so I assumed Mark Ling's people could answer questions.

They told me that I could contact the developers, and gave me a link - but it just wound up being the sales page. I couldn't discover anything else about Alex Goad except for what I read here.

But, I really like video, and just hearing what AtlantaRobin said, above, is enough to convince me that placing appropriate videos into my content is important.

Until I hear a lot more about this particular product, I'm going to hold off and just place them in manually. Thanks guys for all that insight!

    Hi guys,

Thanks for checking out UVC. I thought I would respond to a couple things here.

    1. In regards to the exec function, this is required for the UVC Quick Installer which installs and sets up the various UVC components for you. It is provided as a convenience, not required. The plugin and theme can be easily installed through the normal WP interface as any plugin/theme might. 95% of people do not have a problem using this because the exec function is enable by default. However 5% or so have hosts that disable this because they are ultra security hawks and of course they won't like enabling it. I'm not saying they don't have their reasons, but it's about the equivalent of demanding to hold your 16 year old's hand while crossing the road.

    2. ForumGuru, thanks for your inputs buddy

    3. atlantarobin, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with your posts. Curation, when done right is the future. However, most don't do it properly and that's what I hope to solve with UVC. But I just want to be clear to everybody, when atlantarobin says the site is slow, she is not referring to a site she built with UVC.

    4. maverick4u, David had a problem using the Quick Installer because of his hosting. However, most don't. And if it's impossible to use the Quick Installer, you can just install the theme and plugin by uploading them via WP like any other plugin, it's just a few clicks more. The Quick Installer is there as a convenience, it's not to say you are forced to use it. It probably takes your installation time for 5-7 minutes (counting downloading, uploading and clicking activate) to 2-3 minutes using the Quick Installer.

    Thanks guys,
    Bryan

I installed it yesterday on a domain I want to give a little life to. This will be for a local seo service, so building some ranking will be important over the next year. I had some issues with the install, but I'm also smart enough to use my host's control panel, so it wasn't an issue for long.

My favorite part of the app is the saved searches. Basically, I can grab the top category posts of the day by region and check that daily. There are lots of other search options available. Overall the site looks pretty sweet and I'm sure mine will look better with more content and tweaking on my part.

You will have to use the template. That's not a problem for me, because this was a new site, but if your in love with an existing template you might want to keep that in mind.

Overall, I think this delivers on being fast and easy to use. I'm glad I picked it up.

This is awesome! Just a little amendment. You don't have to use the theme. The plugin works with any theme. I do highly recommend you use the theme for best results and the best looking site as it is specially designed, but again, there is no requirement. UVC automatically adjusts itself based on what theme you're using. May I ask what was the installation issue you ran into? I'm always looking for feedback. It seems you've solved it pretty easily, but if we avoid it altogether for others who might have the same, the better.

        Thanks,
        Bryan

Well I'm in --> and I must say this system kicks a$$. I repeat...this system kicks serious a$$ and I am quite pleased to say the least!

      My initial thoughts and experiences.

#1 After downloading the installer plugin from the members area I literally had the plugins an theme installed and my first post curated within maybe FOUR minutes or less! WoW!

#2 Installation was very smooth on a HOSTGATOR SHARED server! No issues whatsoever.

#3 The system worked perfectly! Just as shown in the videos!

#4 Before curating I added a couple of Goggle Alert feeds which I already had setup in Google so this took me less than 1 minute.

#5 The entire curated post took maybe 1.5 minutes to do and a minute to add some of my own editorial text. The post I created added the video, related videos, YT comments, text I added, YT description, title, and the cool trending section. Very Nice!

        Hi Bryan,

This looks great - but just got a few questions before I decide:

Are there any issues with uploading other people's videos and then hosting them ourselves? I ask this only because I don't want to build sites and then find that later I get my site banned for using videos that don't have the Youtube Embed code, which I believe links back to YT (as part of their TOS).

I believe that YT videos can still be downloaded even if the creator of those videos has not allowed embedding. If this is the case and we download and them to our servers - am I right in thinking that this will be a copyright issue?

Don't get me wrong - but if someone took any of my videos and uploaded them to their server without my permission, then I would see that as theft of my property.

I know that on the sales page it states that permission is required from the owner - so I'm guessing that if it was my video that was getting a gazilion views a month - why would I want to give that traffic to someone else and not get a link back to my video. I'm not making any kind of accusations and maybe I've missed something - but I'm in for the long haul and don't want to waste my time and money only to get in bother with copyright or using other people's videos/content without permission issues. I certainly don't need any kind of law suits.

Also, if these videos are being uploaded to our web hosting servers, then won't it be using an enormous amount of bandwidth, as they are videos and if we're using video that are hot topics, then I'm sure that it will use huge amounts of bandwidth?

One other thing. I see the salespage states 'updates for life' but Alex Goad has been mentioned a few times on this thread and statements claiming that he abandons his software. That's not good! I have hard drives full of software that does work anymore and I will NEVER buy stuff from those sellers again. I realise that Goggle makes many changes which causes many softwares to stop working - but I do want some assurance that this is not going to happen with this. I'm just sick to death of throwing away money. I'm sure you can understand.

(I've got individual plugins that will do exactly what your all-in-one software and theme does and more - only it's time consuming and would much rather use a quicker solution.)

So, will this software be updated and if so, is included in the price of $47?

Lastly, are their any hidden OTO's?

These are just thoughts that I am concerned about and not accusations.

I look forward to any feedback about these issues.

        Thanks.

In the case where you download someone's video and post it on your site, you definitely need to get permission, there is no two ways about it. You also need to make sure that nothing in the video is copyrighted by another copyright holder. There's little risk they would actually find you and pursue you, more likely just send an email telling you to take it down ( you should have a working contact). This downloading is not the main functionality of the software though -- it's just possible. Do with it as you see fit and ethical.

Luckily, most people aren't marketers that you and me so they don't actually understand the value of their content. There's a very simple way to approach this and you will get a yes 9/10 times.

"Hey, we run a large site about ________. We search out all the best videos about ________ - I saw your video "video title" and would like to feature it on our site. I think our readers would really like it. Are you OK with this? Of course you would get credit and I could link back to your youtube channel or website. Here's our site: ___________"

You want to make sure the site looks high quality, which is easy with UVC. A lot of people will just feel like cool, I'm getting free exposure from high quality, targeted site. And that's the truth. This won't work with everyone, but it only takes one video and there are millions.

Also, if these videos are being uploaded to our web hosting servers, then won't it be using an enormous amount of bandwidth, as they are videos and if we're using video that are hot topics, then I'm sure that it will use huge amounts of bandwidth?

To be clear, ALL of the videos, except the ones you download and post are being served from Youtube, so it uses none of your bandwidth.

One other thing. I see the salespage states 'updates for life' but Alex Goad has been mentioned a few times on this thread and statements claiming that he abandons his software. I'm just sick to death of throwing away money. I'm sure you can understand.

This software is built based on the Youtube API, which has a deprecation policy where it should never stop working even if it's never updated again, ever. I can speak for Alex, have known him for years and can tell you he's a genuine guy who does care about his products. I can't be certain of what they're referring to, but do know that every software launched in the last 3 years is still being supported.

(I've got individual plugins that will do exactly what your all-in-one software and theme does and more - only it's time consuming and would much rather use a quicker solution.)

If it's time consuming and monotonous is it really more? I would beg to differ.

So, will this software be updated and if so, is included in the price of $47?

          Yes.

Lastly, are their any hidden OTO's?

No they are on full display after you purchase the main offer. If they were hidden how would anybody buy them

These are just thoughts that I am concerned about and not accusations.

I look forward to any feedback about these issues.

          Thanks.
          Thanks for your comments.

            Bryan,

Alex says in the video that you download the video and then upload it to your server. I didn't hear him say that it's being served from YT. Have I missed something?

In the first video on your sales page Alex states the following about the options:

"You can download this video and automatically upload it back to your server so it becomes your own video."

Sorry, but I don't get that. HOW CAN IT BE YOUR OWN VIDEO?

Think I'll give it a miss.

            Good luck!

That is one option. You can either do that or serve it directly from Youtube using their embed code. If you use the software to download a video to your server and then post it, it gets posted with the self-hosted, built in JW player. In that case, it's like it's become your own video because you're posting it in the same capacity on your site no matter whether YOU actually created the video. Google cannot say that it isn't. Proof positive. There are people who download existing youtube videos and then repost them on Youtube itself and get ranked higher than the original video that they ripped. It's slimy but it's a fact..

In any case, this is not the core of the system at all, not even close. It's a feature, it works, do with it what you will. I personally just don't download videos and repost them like that. I almost exclusively use UVC with the Youtube embed code serving the videos and so does everyone else.

              Anyway, good luck yourself

                Cheers for That Bryan,

I'm happy that I can just embed the YT vids.

I changed my mind and jumped in.

Just don't wanna be giving anyone reason to get in bother.

I'm seeing some changes taking place online lately and sites getting shut down for copyright infringement.

                Thanks.

                Hey Bryan
I bought this a few days ago and now find that I can't download any videos at all to my server.
I added the IP address as instructed in the overview video but I keep getting the "no down load link found message".
Yet, I can download all the videos I wanted using free online software with no problems at all.
Another thing I noticed is that there doesn't appear to be "save as Draft" option and the default wp save draft' doesn't seem to work either.
This means that if you forget to do something (like add a feed or your ISP drops out) and need to go back before it's published, you lose your post and need to start again.

Something else which could be improved upon is the content box which only shows the last couple of sentences of your text. It seems there is no way to view the whole article before it's published and there's no default "preview" button included with the theme.

I bought the elite upsell and other than the above issues, I really like it.

I installed this on 3 different sites, not one of them allows me to upload the videos directly.

But if I just use the youtube installer, it works fine, and looks great!

I am off to join the focus group.

Very Nice!

TBS has been around longer than SpinRewriter an is integrated into almost all plugins that use third party spinners. Your plugin is the first (or second) that I have seen that uses just Spin ReWriter and not TBS or both.

The Best Spinner is actually cheaper than SpinReWriter if you purchase through a Warrior Forum classified ad link at just less than $50 bucks a year.

I don't spin much either as most spun stuff is crap...but I do use it with VVC as it allows simple spinning to rotate descriptions on bookmarks sent to social sites.

So if it's not too much trouble it would be a nice addition. I purchased SpinReWriter when it first came out and then let my subscription expire after 6 months. When I wanted to use a spinner with VVC and a couple of other tools I decided to go with TBS and forked over the cash because more tools use TBS than SPRW .

At the end of the day I think TBS is the cheaper option by $12.10 per year.

    Bryan Mc,
A couple of questions, if I may.So do I understand this correctly, you can use videos from YT that still stay on YT. You don't have to load them to your own server at all? If so do I still need permission from the originator? Also if I purchase the UV Curator package to try it out, Can I use on several sub-domains of the master domain? Also what is the contact information for support or refunds as nothing seems to be given on the sales page? Lastly, can I then upgrade to one of the other packages in the future for the price differential? Thank you...

I posted a bit of info on the OTO's above and Bryan touches a bit on them in the video. They are not necessarily required to make the front end product work. OTO 1) Information package. 2) Video Sitemap. 3) Plugin package

      Yes.

      True.

If so do I still need permission from the originator?

This is not legal advice but as I understand YT ToS YT users that are curating can embed videos that are shared on YT. If you download and or alter a video you should use Creative Commons licensed videos or get permission from the video creator. Not all marketers follow these rules, however, and some vendors may even allow their affiliates the use of (downloading) their videos for sales and marketing purposes.

Also if I purchase the UV Curator package to try it out, Can I use on several sub-domains of the master domain?

      Yes

Also what is the contact information for support or refunds as nothing seems to be given on the sales page?

Support info is available in the members area and the sales page shows a 60 day satisfaction guarantee.

Lastly, can I then upgrade to one of the other packages in the future for the price differential? Thank you...

Probably so but Bryan would need to answer that more directly.

Build a targeted niche site and use affiliate offers for niche products targetted to that segment.
      Hope that helps.

          Hi,

I just installed quick adsense and inserted a single ad and it's working with the UVC plugin on a third party theme as well as with the UVC theme.

          Looks like it's a go.

I am in arms with what to purchase: UVC or Garity's Video Sense Pro. What i see with Garity's is easy monetization and with UVC there does not see to be any unless you add some plugins to get it in.

If you have some dead wp blogs do you just set this up, change themes and then keep adding content or do you set up a subdomain and then add the video's?

@A-Robin, your post inspires me, but still not exactly sure how you do it, just set up the plugin and let it run.

I'm sitting on two fences and need some advice before I jump off and jump in knee deep. Appreciate any help I can get here.

I have set this up straight on existing blog url with my existing theme and it works fine.

The theme that comes with it has an option for an ad block in the header but for some reason it's not displaying my adsense block. I have inserted 468x60 code and it's not showing up. I have scanned the settings and so far I have not come up with anything.

That said the system seems to be working fine with my original theme.

Not sure yet on the adblock issue I am seeing...I'll do some more checking.

Thanks a ton for the reponse, I really appreciate it. Might I ask which themes you are having luck with? I have some of the old MFA themes and when I tried switching to something else it distorts the crap out of the site and I don't want to waste a day fixing it so I just go back to the old theme.

I have one curated site from Hugh and I am using the magazine theme that is free and wondering how this would work for that.

I'm starting to get a hang of this and when you compare this UVC to Gariety's it's kind of like, this option for that option. I like his theme better, but he doesn't include all the stuff that UVC offers.

I am sitting here deciding because I want the unlimited version not the $10 one site option. The price difference between the 2 is $20, so that isn't much of a big deal just don't want to end up purchasing both. LOL

    @coach

I edited my post above just a tad after reviewing the theme and some video documentation. It seems this UVC theme IS quite different than any other theme I have used --> and it appears as if it does not do a traditional site header and top menu setup.

So if you are looking for a more traditional looking front page then you may want to go on a subdomain. If you want a straight video site then using this at top level may be OK if you can get used to the sorta non-traditional look.

The built in theme is highly recommended by Bryan and I sorta see why...it's video, video, video and more video...everywhere. All of it's features are designed to place videos and I noticed it does not play that well with non-video posts as several of the key features seem to be looking for videos to show a thumb. It's not that you can't do ordinary non-video posts...you can but then you may not want to use some of the features that are built into the theme. At least that's what I think I am seeing so far.

The built in theme is fairly customizable...but again it's not a "traditional looking" theme. I think I am going to run with it on a few sites top level and see how I like it. I am also gonna try some other ads in the ad block to see if I can make those work...not sure yet on why that ad block not working with my adsense ad. I have not tried any ad plugins yet but will be trying a couple soon enough. I have also not tried some of my other often used plugins so I don't know how nice they will play if used.

As far as using other themes go --> what I am using is Photocrati that runs about $90...it's a "photographers" theme. I have also tried a few ThemeShock themes and the plugin seemed to be working on those that I tried as well.

If you give me a link to the specific Magazine theme you are using I can check it out for you as long as it's available to download.

I went ahead and purchased it. I loaded it on a traditional theme and it does put video inside but the related content is kind of goofy. I also loaded their theme on a site (subfolder) and put in a couple of posts but nothing is working properly. I will have to go watch the video's to see if I can get it to work properly.

As for the adsense on their theme????? 4getaboutit. it doesn't work no matter what I tried. I will just use quick adsense like I have on many other sites. That is one of the reasons why I struggled with this purchase--gariety has a more user friendly theme package from what I saw. Oh well, I'll give this a honest try and if I can't get the theme to work like they show, it's refund time.

Warrior davidalpha1 has his site running on a subdomain so it's possible...his site looks like mine except his RSS feeds were not running. I am not sure what the deal was with that. Maybe he did not have them setup properly or long enough to pull data from the RSS. But for sure his theme looked like it should.

Yeah, I also gave up on the built in adsense block for now and am going to use my own plugins for ads as well.

I own a couple of Garety plugins...RSS Curator I really like but I was hating my inbox filling up with his damn emails. I asked him if I could get on a support only list and he told me to go jump...if I want good prices then I must eat the emails! We went round and round on that. I'm off his list now! I believe his last email to me was to read the "7 Habits of Highly Effective People". Luckily, I have had that book on my shelves for probably a decade! Anyway, I just tried to get a deal on an RSS Curator upgrade to pro a couple of days ago...but his only deal available was $47. Bummer!

I hope you get satisfaction on this! Good luck!

There's definitely a problem here because to be honest, people are pumping out awesome looking sites with ease, whether using the UVC theme or not. Please write into support and they will help you figure it out.

There is a minor bug with the header adsense code that's been fixed, will be in tomorrow's update. The theme was built to do one thing really well which is structure your site. As mentioned, in terms of adding banners, adsense, what have you, you can use any of the many plugins which all should be compatible. I know that people are not having trouble adding adsense to their sites because I have seen several customer sites with adsense blocks.

3 OTO's all worth the money, none required to make the frontend work or valuable.

Also wanted to note that David was using the wrong kinds of feeds initially which is why they weren't showing. He's fixed that now and everything looks great.

To be honest, people are loving UVC. I have so many awesome testimonials and very few and minor issues, which are only to be expected until you work through the endless possible server settings.

On another note, if you join, you should really also join our UVC Focus Group which is already taking off. It's free, nothing to pay and is turning into a great community of people willing to help in any way, including myself.

            Thanks for all your questions.

Thanks for stopping by. What drives me nuts about video training is you have to watch the whole dam thing to get one question answered. To bad you didn't have an outline so we could quickly go to it. Like:

How to get rid of comments once you post
Feeds and how to make them work
Why I can't change Main Body Background Color
Why I can't change any of the site colors
Why only have the theme options will work
Why I can't add tags to posts

    Yada, yada, yada.

I know I am old, I know I can't read, but why is this about the only place you can get some help within a relative short amount of time.

Not sure if you were still having trouble or were just making the comment so I'll offer a bit of input just in-case you are still having issues.

Feeds - Login to your Google account and set up the feeds --> set them to "as it happens".

Google Alerts - Monitor the Web for interesting new content

Background Color - Not sure what's going on there. It's working for me just drag the little circle to the color you want and then click the color wheel and save.

Site Colors - My color options are working by using the same procedure I described above.

Tags - Tags are working for me and I can also add tags via the edit post option.

Theme Options - For me all seem to be working except for the ad block Bryan addressed.

Comments - Those may not be so easy to get rid of once posted.

Hope that helps a little. If not you then you should probably contact support.

      Best of luck.

I finally figured this one out, but the feeds are not showing up. Does the theme need to use a widget to get the feeds going?

OK, here is where I am having fits, 4 hours worth:

Where do you find the colors for the bars (that bar directly above the video and the bars in the side panel.

Tags - Tags are working for me and I can also add tags via the edit post option.

I had to delete a plugin to get them to work and now they do.

Theme Options - For me all seem to be working except for the ad block Bryan addressed.

I used quick adsense but they are not appearing right now. That's the least of my problems right now.

Comments - Those may not be so easy to get rid of once posted.

no kidding I had to the posts and then re post but now my url's all have keyword-2 on the url.

I have not been here in a loooong time. Spent way too much money and it was time to make some $$. BUT, having said that, I got an email just a few days ago which I would normally have deleted but it grabbed my attention. There are two places I spend WAYYY too much time on and that is Pinterest and Youtube . I have over 180 websites and some of them are on a shelf getting dusty. Right away I thought, heck if people spent that much time on my site that would be phenomenal!! You group all your videos under topics. Are you looking for inspirational videos, weight loss, everything about Jack Canfield or some tear jerking speeches by Nick Vujicic
      1. This software is amazing. I put my first site up in minutes, found videos for my niche fast, put up my first post in a short time and thought WOW. Set up another one, and another one... and that was even faster. It was 1:00 in the morning and I thought holy crap.
      2. Support for this program 10+. We have our own private facebook group and there are seasoned veterans to newbies in there who are all helping each other!!
      3. I even switched an old site to this theme to see what would it would like. Just a few minor changes and BAM no problem
      4. As for issues, sure there will be hiccups with any software. Come on guys..look at Windows. Nothing is perfect right out the gate but I am loving what i see right now.
      5. I have been online since 1998 and buying a lot of programs and this one has not disappointed me Bryan McConnahea.
      6. And WHOEVER said hey it is just some young guy. So was the developer of Facebook. Good to see a new face and one that I can trust to put out solid stuff
For the critics ~~ seriously? If you have not tried it and only try it to critic that something does not work you are losing out on the magic of this.

Now back to figuring what other site I am going to put this magic dust on

Well, I was certainly looking forward to this...but am now going to have to ask for a refund.

I purchased this yesterday and found that my web host, Dreamhost, does not offer IonCube. Per the UVC developer's suggestion, I asked Dreamhost to install IonCube on my sites.

Dreamhost sent me a reply with a wiki attached telling my how to do this myself. Unfortunately, the instructions are incomprehensible. Dreamhost, even, recognizes the difficulty in understanding the instructions and posts this warning on the wiki:

"The instructions provided in this article or section are considered advanced.

You are expected to be knowledgeable in the UNIX shell.

Support for these instructions is not available from DreamHost tech support.

Server changes may cause this to break. Be prepared to troubleshoot this yourself if this happens.

We seriously aren't kidding about this."

I know NOTHING about UNIX shell and am unwilling to attempt this.

For anyone else considering UVC (which sounds great, btw) who uses Dreamhost, you should know going in about this.

I just hope the developers honor the 60-day refund. Sigh...

      An update:

I tried to send a message to "support@fueledpublishing.com" - the address supplied to me in may welcome/thank you for buying email, and it was returned as undeliverable.

Does anyone know how to reach support for this product?

Cool theme but, man the support sucks. I upgraded from single site license to multi-site nearly 4 days ago and they told me they would have to upgrade my account.

But still I have not received the upgrade!

I have submitted 3 support tickets and still NADA!

I'm starting to think I should just get a refund on the whole shebang and find another solution. If the lack of support is any indication of things to come - it does not bode well for this theme's future.

*** Update: 3/11 - It looks like the problems with the software looks like it's pretty well resolved... I think the combination of the latest version, plus de-activating any and all plugins (on existing sites) before uploading the software and then re-activating them after is doing the trick for me now.

Support can be a bit slow at times but the gal I have been working with (oksana) always tries to help and does a good job.

I'm really getting to like it... even more so if/when I start seeing more traffic. One option I'd really like to see added if possible is if we could copy & paste in a particular video instead of going through tons of pages until it's found... this would save a lot of time and be a real butt kicker.

Don't know for sure but my feeling is that I believe Bryan is going to keep adding to this software and keep it updated... if he does that, I'll be a happy camper.

Is anyone seeing any boost in traffic yet? Or... maybe you'd want to share a tip or two?

            ===========================================

I got this 12 days ago and I'm still going back and forth with support... I have hostgator, uploaded ok on 3 sites and then for the last 5-6 days I can't get it to download on any other sites... so support said do it manually (as support recommended) and I tried that many times and still not uploading and all I get is the same every time:

Installing Theme from uploaded file: uvc-installer.zip
            Unpacking the package…
            Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
            Theme install failed.

Using the installer or manually installing each file and I still can't get it uploaded.

I've wasted so much time with this and support and bad license keys etc.

Bryan sounds like a great guy and I'd really like to use this but with 12 days of going back and forth with support has really put a toll on my nerves and unfortunately I'm at wits end and ready to get a refund.

I LOVE UVC!! And the support is PHENOMENAL!! CoachBob and others you need to set up a site with 5 video's BEFORE you are allowed to join the private FB focus group. For a good reason. If you are not willing to watch the training and do the work then why should you be allowed to participate?

And the Elite Coaching is GREAT!! I have spent tens of thousands of dollars over the last decade on WSO's and other marketing tools. This is BY FAR AND AWAY THE VERY BEST!!

Harlan has partnered with Hugh in the past...and he's right, Hugh's personalized support can be pretty good at times.

That being said...I purchased Instant Content Curator Pro, Viral Image Creator Pro, Viral Video Creator Pro, and Instant Content Curator Express ---> all of which were released by Hugh Hitchcock.

ICC Express does most of the work of the others so if you were purchasing only one program it would probably be your best choice as far as Hugh's lineup goes. I would not recommend ICC Pro as it does not do much when compared to ICC Express.

I think the developer license for ICC Express runs $97 but it can be found "on sale" occasionally for $67. He also has single site and multi-site licenses available. Below are links to ICC Express as well links to one of his YT pages and one of his FB groups.

Some of the other curation software that I use are Curation Soft, Page One Curator and a few of the wordpress curation plugins that I use are Curation Fire, Buzz Burner, and Ultimate Video Curator.

          Hope that helps.

I have been seriously studying UVC, particularly about whether the theme will display Adsense ads.

The following is surely a turn off:

    "Jimp1
One other thing I forgot, in the sample site shown I didn't see it being monetized. How do you see yhat being done (besides Adsense)?

Build a targeted niche site and use affiliate offers for niche products targetted to that segment."

If I heard it right, no Adsense ads will be displayed. Very important to me since the Adsense Program had been paying my modest living expenses.

    Hi Bryan,

I watched the sales video as well as other Youtube videos on UVC (including yours). However, none of them has touched on how to monetize the sites. I appreciate if you could shed some light on these questions:

    1. How have you monetized the sites you have already built?

    2. What is the monthly (bare minimum) income that one can expect from one site? How much videos are needed to accomplish this?

    3. How long does it usually take to start some income from a brand new site?

    Thank you,
    Sincerely,

    Shawn

I'm soooooooo happy to come back here and see sooooo many people taking advantage of Bryan MacConnahea's awesome Ultimate Video Curator! Had a few computer problems that delayed my return, but also busy putting Bryan's multi-faceted tools to work.

    FIRST THINGS FIRST
Though I need to disclose that I signed on as an affiliate, I did so as a devout user of this product... a product that I will NOT go without using on a daily basis from here until time ends, lol. It's that good.

    NUMEROUS UNTOLD USES
UVC has numerous untold uses that no one has even touched on yet. Its use as a pure search engine, allowing you to save videos, keywords, feeds, etc. for future use is a pure goldmine. It can help you tap into your niche and save hundreds of videos one day to keep you busy for the next year using only what you researched in one day. Think about this for a minute... and ask yourself how that could help YOU with your next niche video website or local client vlog.

    BRYAN'S BABY
This is Bryan's baby and Daddy Bryan is sure to take care of, nurture, and help his baby grow for years to come. Meaning... Bryan has spawned a treasure here, a goldmine creator all on its own, so he has every financial interest in making sure he updates it and keeps it running in top form for HIS OWN USE, as well as our use. I cannot imagine he would ever abandon his baby, lol, as it is surely a child star that will feed his family until Google decides to shut down YouTube altogether.

    BEFORE YOU REFUND... JUST DON'T
Hey, just like you, I get tired of buying things and struggling to make them work, fighting against incompatibility problems which I can't begin to understand, haunted by a fleeting notion that maybe I'M the problem instead of the software, and finally exasperated with my own shortcomings, embarrassingly tuck tail and ask for a refund.

DO NOT DO THAT HERE! Bryan has made things sooooooooooo simple to install ALL the plugins at once. So simple, in fact, that I tried to make it harder than it was. I slept on it, did it again the next day, and voila, became an instant fan of his simplicity! And of his simple plugin/theme installer!

I understand that there may be a few difficulties in the beginning with those who have self-hosted servers, but even those problems can be overcome and you've got a LOT of helpful users now that can help you once you come onboard. I'm just saying... you will be missing out on one of the most useful, multi-faceted, viewer-attracting video blog post machines that's come along in a loooooooong time if you say goodbye to this prematurely. And I say that KNOWING that if you get a refund now, you WILL be back to re-purchase it again later.

So keep an eye on this thread, if you simply must, knowing that one day you'll "get it" and be back to pick up where you and Bryan left off. You may lose a bit of time (and a lot of potential income) in that process, but sometimes we all need to just let a good thing soak in before we really "get it."

    COPYRIGHT SAFEGUARDS
I think @ForumGuru and I pretty much stand in alliance on this issue in the Warrior Forum... as we both have little tolerance for infringers and the theft of intellectual property and creative works. However, you'll see we are BOTH avid users of UVC.

This is a tool, a machine, that can be used like all other machines... to be used for good or not good uses. But Bryan -- like Hugh Hitchcock in his Viral Video, Content, and Image Curators -- has built in an easy-button way for you to research the origins and licensing of each video so YOU can carry out your own code of ethics and choose to respect all applicable laws or not. Your choice.

The fact that you are embedding the YouTube code to each video on a blog post on YOUR site does NOT mean you have "stolen" the video, unless you have physically downloaded the video and reuploaded it to your own servers or back to YouTube WITHOUT permission from the copyright holder or owner. The pretty TV frame on your blog post is more like a television sitting in your living room. Either way, you're just viewing the video on a pretty screen made for such purposes. Your post is just the screen on which the YouTube video temporarily plays with permission from the copyright owner via them checking the box "allow embedding" when they uploaded their video to YouTube. (Check copyright laws and YT policies for exact details and specific instances where that does not apply).

If you copy a TV show onto a DVD and take that DVD to play for paying customers at your business or as background "muzac" at your commercial business, then yes, you would need to get permission from the copyright owner or buy a commercial license to redistribute their "creative works." The same analogy goes for your website blog where you create a post with a video screen that plays a video you uploaded that was not owned by you.

Both ForumGuru and I have given LOTS of examples elsewhere on the Warrior Forum regarding how you can prevent yourself from accidentally crossing the line with copyright issues. But this is NOT the place to go into detail about that. Suffice it to say that your focus here should be to THANK BRYAN for including such an easy way to HELP YOU do your due diligence and research the origins and copyright licensing of ALL the videos he helps you access. Bryan is helping REDUCE copyright infringement, not the other way around. Thanks, Bryan!

VERSATILE MIX AND MATCH THEME/PLUGIN CAPABILITIES
It's UVC's theme and plugin mix and match capabilities that have exponentially made this particular video curation tool THE BEST CHOICE for video curators. You are NOT limited to using one theme or plugin for curation. You can use Bryan's UVC plugin with whatever theme you like OR you can use it with the UVC theme OR you can use UVC along WITH other curation plugins (something I'm experimentally successfully with now).

So if I were just starting out, I would make UVC my FIRST choice, followed by other free or paid curation tools, using free Wordpress themes first, THEN buying other themes. This ONE video curation tool allows you to search by keyword, pull in videos for viewing-saving-posting-curating AND pull in both video and written source material via your hand-picked RSS feeds so you'll have boocoodles of niche-targeted snippets to choose from that you can then quickly edit and curate.

Folks, that is powerful stuff! And there is NO other video curation tool right now that serves all that up together in the way that Bryan's tool does. Add his "video gallery" to the mix and you've got a visually diverse array of post materials to choose from, instead of being limited to one video per post or one video plus other videos or a long slew of videos that look messy on your page.

Meaning... Bryan's tool allows you to make short, tight, info-packed, visually pleasing posts that viewers can digest WITHOUT getting visually or mentally overwhelmed. Result? They'll quickly get interested in one post, then another, and another and forget they need to leave after the first half hour or more. No kidding! No amount of curated "written" content can ever have this video-trance effect!

Fewer words would probably have been appreciated... but just had to add my two-cent update to what's already been said about this awesome little tool.

Stellar video curation tool, Bryan! I really like your brain and your eye for what looks good on a page!

I bought UVC and have been messing around with it for days. I've had issues with my hosting because of the exec thing; that never worked. I installed manually and thought I was getting somewhere but then the videos do not display on the homepage or on the sidebar. I can't post directly from UVC when I find a video I want; I get 'page can't be displayed' and even though I'm sure that's some failure of my own, I have looked and watched the training until I seriously can't stand the sound of Bryan's voice any longer.

I have a ticket submitted, and have had one response and am still waiting for how to fix this. I'm sick of it and am not even trying again until I hear more from support. It really shouldn't be this hard should it? I bought the unlimited as well as the elite package because the concept sounds awesome. I've wasted far too much time on something that was made to sound simple. Oh well.

    Bryan,

Like all the wso's the money always comes in with alittle work.
    Monetization is not spoken about.

How do you kickstart the traffic ... wait for google or what?

Whats the bewst way to monetize - banner adds adwords, text adds - links to your own affiliate links?

That sort of stuff would have been better for an oto.

The sales page says upload videos ... make money but we are in the real world.

btw it says $27 for unlimited sites in video but the buy button says 5 sites - which is correct?

    Thanks

Not sure what you mean by this. We have a group with currently 130 or so UVC users and I'm in there daily. It's a great environment. I'm the one that setup the group. I didn't have to do that, of course. And it always open to those that meet the requirements. Have you submitted your site yet by following the instructions in the video?

Why are we losing google alerts again? There's no confirmation of that anywhere. If it ever should happen (which right now there is no point in worrying about it), the software will be adjusted.

Sorry, but these kinds of posts are exactly why I stay away from the WF. So much cynicism. It's understandable considering the state of the market and the players within it. It just saddens me. Btw, I don't have any new projects for the moment and UVC has been regularly updated since it's release. Not sure where you got this info.

Guys, so much negativity. You guys recently spent too much $ on good-for-nothing WSOs? I don't recall myself being so skeptic when I "found" a promising products and then "try" to see if it is working and then "refund" when I think it is not working at all (at least for me). I see no productivity at saying something like:

This product is still new, people are still testing and tweaking with it. Some are already posting results in the closed group and a few are already posting results of themselves making money from this system.

As a member of this system (UVC) I would like to say this system is really awesome. I am a newbie in IM and I have 2 years experience of buying a product and only to see they're not working for me or just full of empty promises, but UVC really is one good product! (even made me spent $10 to join and start posting replies to this thread )

You may friend are 100% wrong - at least with UVC - Bryan's case. Me and 3 of my SEO team members are in the FB group and we are using it daily - on contrary of what you are probably used to, it is positive and efficient place for getting assistance and sharing unbiased and no hyped data and experience! I cant see how you got to idea of Bryan dumping UVC ...

As a satisfied user of UVC including the OTO's I can honestly say the quality of the product has been above my expectations, lots of great features and suburb training.

It is one of the better investments I have made, of course it requires some work and action.
There were challenges, as I worked through the course, these were quickly resolved with help through our very interactive Facebook group.

Brian's support is unquestionable, honest and straight forward all the way.
I am proud to be associated with UVC and it's members.

I would also like to chime in here in favor of UVC! I've bought a lot of WSO products and, unfortunately, many of them were not worth even the low cost I paid.

On the contrary, UVC has been a profound exception! It's been a ray of light in a dark storm. Not only is the product itself exceptional (it works), but the support is equally exceptional! I can honestly say that I've learned more about IM in general and UVC in particular than through ANY other product I've purchsed anywhere!!!

Bryan Mc has been exceptionally helpful and, in my opinion, has provided probably the best product support I've ever experienced. Moreover, his OTO is the most inclusive and well-developed I've seen.

Seriously? I do not buy a lot of WSO's but I am getting traffic with this one and LOVE it!! Bryan is in the private group pretty well every day. He does have a life outside of Facebook and the WF as we all do right? If you do NOT have the experience then you should NOT buy anything from here. It does what he says it will do, it is a smart idea. The training has been great. The problem MOST people have had is a conflict with plug ins, lack of experience. I have been online since 1998 and rarely do I ask for a refund. But read the ad copy of all of them. Bryan was honest, he has kept his word, he responds in the facebook group. What more would you want. Kudos Bryan, for a brand new site many of mine are getting traffic but it depends on the niche you have chosen, the keywords, and the offer you make with the videos. Bryan does not deserve this flack. I am Patsy from the private Facebook group

I bought UVC a month or so back and even with very little time I had a GREAT looking site.

Personally, I think it is one of the best things I have bought lately!

Bryan and his team respond ASAP to any issues and work around the clock to sort any problems out!

On top of that the training is great!

The FB community is strong and responsive.

I have tried to join the mastermind group since the beginning and still have not received permission. How many times do you have to ask before you give up?

@Bryan just yesterday I set up a new UVC and when I set up the alerts the google box came up and told me on July 1, 2013 the alerts will not longer exist.

      Hey,

OK, are you sure that his wasn't for Google Reader? If you are using google reader feed links (ie. clicking on the orange icon takes your to Google Reader) then you may have mistaken them for Google Alerts. Google feed reader is closing, Google Alerts is not. UVC doesn't use anything related to Google Feed Reader.

Also, I have scoured both of my FB message boxes. I don't have anything older than 1 day. If you resend your request, maybe I'll get it this time. http://facebook.com/fueledbryan - and don't forget the requirements laid out in the video and the instructions for applying for access to the group.

Also when you send your request, please remind me that it is your from the WF. I don't know what else I can do for you, bud.

      Thanks,

I usually check the WF before buying any program and I did
so with this program. After reading a few of the earlier
posts I had pretty much made up my mind to pass this one
because there seemed to be so many unhappy folks. Also I
had just recently purchased another video curation product
and felt I did not need another.

Fortunately I stuck around long enough to read the posts
from others who were happy with this product. I am glad
that I did. I purchased this product two days ago and have
added it to three of my domains which are hosted at Hostgator.

It is an instant install of theme and all the necessary
plugins using the install plugin. While I have not
completely set up any of the sites yet I feel that this
program produces everything it has promised and more.

The only problem I encountered was one of the sites had no
header and I scratched my head a while till I figured out
that it was because I deleted the standard default post
that comes with Wordpress as I always do before doing any
other work on the site. I added a test post and the header
        appeared as it should.

I believe this is a definite "keeper"

I'll just add my six pennyworth if I may... I also bought the original UVC package and the Elite training course which I have yet to finish BTW. As a professional trainer I have to say that I have never found any other training as in-depth and as scientifically organised as this - this is the real deal as far as I'm concerned. To be honest, I don't care how old Bryan is - my kids are in their 30s - this guy knows his stuff and I respect him for it.

As for conflicts, I have had no issues so far apart from one which I am sure was caused by a dodgy plug-in I bought and installed - and have now removed. I even have another curation tool installed on the same site without any problems. So, as I believe you can only speak as you find, UVC gets the thumbs-up from me and I will be building a lot of these sites in the future.

On the sales page the Single Site and Multisite options each state Personal Use while Enterprise says "For Personal or Commercial".

Flipping isn't specifically mentioned, but I imagine that would be considered a valid and reasonable Commercial use.

While I am disappointed with the after sales service, lack of updates, etc, UVC remains a useful tool.

              BUT...

Like all tools it needs to be used...and used properly.

Using it how I have been it will take me quite a while to make back my initial outlay. Using it "smarter" will shorten that time.

I have not added a single thing to my UVC-enabled sites for weeks. There are probably a bunch of reasons, perhaps including laziness. But the main two are...
              1. I'm working on a couple of other projects.
              2. I'm not "passionate" about the subjects/niches of my original UVC-enabled sites.

Installed and used on niche vlogs where the vlogger has a genuine interest, preferably a passion and perhaps some solid knowledge, I believe that UVC would be a worthwhile investment. I will certainly contiinue to keep it close by as I move forward.

      G'day,

I registered just minutes ago. This is my very first post.

I grabbed UVC Elite ($77 I think I paid) and the Video Sitemap Plugin ($27? $17? whatever) about two months ago.

These were amongst the best decisions I've made in a long time.

      Anyway..my observations...
      1. UVC does what the sales videos said it would.
      2. I have it running on a few domains hosted with HostGator.
      3. Installation is a breeze.
      4. Adsense or other ads/affiliate banners can be implemented via Widgets, etc. I haven't had a lot of trouble with implementing the required code for Adsense to display.
      5. Do not leave AutoPlay checked unless you want visitors stumbling across Category pages, etc with multiple videos all starting at once. Good for you if they click an ad to get away. Bad for you if they hit the Back button. Always bad for the visitor.
      6. I've had mixed success implementing Google Alerts. However, I was 100% new to Google Alerts...I'm still pretty new.
      7. I take a bit of time creating new posts because I want to be sure the content actually has some value. I am interested though in what I read on about page one about a site with very little written content ranking well. Do we not need writtten content? I'll keep trying anyway as I'm pretty sure Adsense requires content.

There's plenty more I can add, but it's neary 1:30am here and I am overdue for some beauty sleep.

Something I would like to get clarification on though is the issue of updates.

Bryan wrote: "UVC has been regularly updated since it's release"
I haven't noticed any. I regularly check the UVC Installer plugin and make sure it's up to date. It always is. Do I need to re-use it every week or two just to be sure? Or, have there been no updates for two months?

To Bryan or anyone else using UVC...

I was really looking forward to joining the Facebook support group for UVC. Followed the instructions on creating a site with 5 posts and submitting them to Bryan a few days ago.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for people to get access to the group? That was one of the big selling features for me with UVC, the community aspect. Disappointed so far to have no access...

Bryan if you see this post before the other messages I've sent you on FB and WF, please check your FB inbox for a recent request to join the group. That's where you asked us to submit it. It might have gone to your "Other" folder because it includes a link - the one you requested - and because we weren't friends yet when I sent it.

I always wonder whether it's possible to Rank this curated content effectively. Has anyone with this plugin managed to get sites Ranking (not just indexed)?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8112216].message }}
    • Profile picture of the author greenaus
Call me a newbie to the terms if you want, but I can't be sure what you meant by ranking vs beig indexed.

The very first site I used UVC on was brand new created specifically for using UVC on. It ranks on page one in position 6 AND 7 for the three word term I created the site for.

The second site I used it on was already indexed and ranking, so no guarantee of the effect of UVC. It ranks on page one in positions 9 and 10 for the three word term included in the domain name.

I don't know what I can and can't post here as far as links and stuff. The former site was created to promote UVC and the second was created originally using and to promote a UVC competitor in the viral content genre that wasn't quite as magical as UVC.

I don't know how or why people are getting the idea that this has been abandoned as it certainly has not!
For one thing it has been updated from the original version a couple of times with talk in the Facebook group of a completely new updated version within the wings.
I get notification from members of the Facebook focus group .. a few of which are posting about new and various ways in which to use UVC almost daily.
There have been a couple of hicups over the past few months when the main site has not been available but this have been server related and nothing to do with the site itself or the owner Bryan McConnahea.
I'm currently using it to build an adsense site but there's no reason sites built with it can't include any affiliate programs you want and as many as you want.
I have one site which has Clickbank, Amazon and Adsense which is ticking over quite well particularly with Adsense.
For what it's worth, I recommend it.

If you weren't able to get into the Facebook focus group initially, I'd try again as there appears to be new members every time I look in.

Good to read your post kellio! As a UVC user since May, I haven't been able to get into the FB group either. I've been looking forward to being part of that community for about 6 months now and so far have been unable to.

The problem is, Bryan only gives a link to his personal FB profile inside the UVC members area - not to the group page itself - and he tells people to PM him on Facebook to be let into the group.

I did exactly that and submitted the info he requested, exactly in the way he asked, but never heard from him, and therefore was never given access to the group.

I have the feeling that by May it was too late after the launch - he no longer checked for, or paid attention to, UVC users requesting access to the UVC FB community.

His support staff weren't able to help with this either.

If you have any info on how we can view the FB group page in order to request to join, I would greatly appreciate it. Nice to hear it's still active.

Perhaps, since you're still an active member of the community there, you could help bring a join request to the attention of one of the admins.

Your refund for any product on JVZoo depends on the guarantee of that product. UVCurator has I think a 60-90 day refund window. If you miss it, you miss it, that simple.

This plugin originally came with Google Alerts functionality and then the function was removed from the plugin when Google killed the Google Alert feeds. The Google Alert feeds are back so when will the plugin be updated so that we can use them again?

    Please advise.

Nope, not a word. I was told months ago by the support desk Bryan would be putting Google Alerts back in a "couple of weeks" but it did not happen. I was told by Bryan TBS support would be added just a few days from original launch but that never happened either.

I have not got any emails updating me and the last time I downloaded the latest version, TBS was not supported and GAlerts had not been put back in.

I have not checked for new updates for a while...I will check and see if things have changed and I will report back if they have.

        Regards.

If you are looking to use UVC, you should take a look at Vozeal. It does pretty much the same thing and guess what? It's free. Not just that, you can also make money using vozeal. It's backed by one of the largest Internet and Media company in the world(Times Internet of India) and currently used by indiatimes.com(40 million pageviews) sportskeeda.com(10 millionpageviews) amont many others.

Just did a fresh install to WP3.8.1 using php 5.4. I didn't install the the video mapper plugin. I did install everything else. The site spits out warnings and then a fatal error. I was able to fix the fatal error by changing "&$attr" to "$attr" in the source. Now I'm able to view the dashboard and the other wonderful warnings. I notice there are updates to the plugins that were installed by UVC installer. Three of them have updates... updating them now. Currently there are warnings such as: "Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/consumer/public_html/healthyliving/wp-content/plugins/bounce-control/licensing.php on line 25" (x5) and Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/consumer/public_html/healthyliving/wp-content/plugins/bounce-control/licensing.php:25) in /home/consumer/public_html/healthyliving/wp-includes/option.php on line 563(x2). This is after the updated. The source on some of the files seem encrypted, so I'm unable to make any changes.

If there are any updates to the plugin, it'd be good to know how to address this issue. I've muddled through to activate the plugin and I consider it still unstable for production use.

      Anyone else having better results?

Has anyone having problems with this plugin?

I am trying to setup with installer, but it failed seriously.

Later I deactived and deleted all the plupins and theme and started all over again, it's even worse.

I am using version 1.04, and after the installer, I got below messages and can't do anything, can't even deactivate it. worpress default page does'nt showed up on my site, and my site has this message too.

Did the ever update the product? Because now I am stucked with it and can't do anything, maybe have to ask hostgator to delete everything for me. Beware of this kind of all in one installer, if something wrong with it, you can't even delete it..
