How Good is the Pureleverage Autoresponder?

Hi folks.

I need a fairly good autoresponder for building multiple lists. I do have the one with GVO. I notice that it does things like promote Joel's business to everyone who signs up - albeit with a small link at the bottom of the confirmation message. Also with the hosting, 404s go to promote his company.

The price is good for the autoresponder in pureleverage, but does it suffer from this issue also? Is it an acceptable option to build a serious list?

Question 2:

The web conferencing in GVO does not work well from Australia, and I am wondering if it works any better in PL. At least the GVO one did not work when I tested meetcheap and the current one I have in GVO. I think it probably works well for people in the States. It has to do with the internet itself more, but I notice that gotowebinar works fine here in Australia.

Has this improved?

My main question is: will the cost of NOT having a professional autoresponder like mailchimp be greater than the savings of using the PureLeverage product?

Here's the "bigger picture" problem with that "small link at the bottom of the message" of any autoresponder company.

As cheapie-seekers start sending spammy messages, the big autoresponders will start creating "thumbprints" and signatures to identify the senders of these emails and junk them. The easiest way to do this, of course, is with that "small link at the bottom of the message" (among other things). If PureLeverage doesn't keep tight control over the quality of the outgoing messages, their entire business can end up in the spam folder.

So be wary of new email companies. Larger companies like Aweber and GetResponse might cost a bit more, but they're 10 years ahead of the crowd in experience and industry relationships.

I use both PureLeverage (GVO) as well as Aweber autoresponders, and I find Aweber better than GVO in many fronts.

From templates, to forms, to look and feel, and sometimes I feel deliverability (open rate) as well.

So, I would prefer Aweber over GVO.

    Hope this info helps you.

I'm not sure if this is still a problem with GVO but their autoresponder wouldn't always register all leads sent through their opt-in forms.

Like i might have 100 leads that come through but GVO only reports like 70 - 80 of them which is a HUGE problem when you work with larger numbers.

GVO tends to only be good (useful) when you're looking to backup your lists from other AR's. But really though, I've tried it and i wouldn't use it again.
