Hi Guys! I'm just trying to decide which smart phone to get. I need something to keep me connected to my business. I mostly need e-mail and texts but I'd also appreciate a decent browser. I'm currently with Verizon and would like to stay as I'm on a really cheap family plan. I'm considering: Blackberry Storm (Verizon) Blackberry Curve (Verizon) or iPhone (AT&T) but it would run me about $40 per month more which I am not really willing to spend. Any other suggestions? Which one do you use and why? |

I haven't really looked too much into any other brands then the Apple and Blackberry simply because the smaller brands will most likely not get very many custom apps built. The Berry's so far don't really have a good app store but that will pick up soon. |

get on tmobile and get an unlocked iphone 2g, trust me on this and if my name isnt "iphone cash machines" 3g iphones are a bitch if you are trying to go the unlocking route. If you actually want to get a plan with them then go ahead and get the att 3g iphone plan. Thanks. |

Is there any way I can get an iPhone on Verizon? I'm on an incredibly cheap family plan atm and don't really want to change that.

Well here are my thoughs and hopefully somebody can fill in the gaps: iPhone: Great phone, keyboard not perfect but good enough. Great browsers and excellent apps: Storm: Next best to the iPhone but so riddled with bugs that it ends up being a piece of junk Curve: Great keyboard, EXCELLENT price (by far the cheapest to buy and lowest monthly cost next to the storm), has all the e-mail features I want. Browser is a big negative. As it is looking now, I'll go for the curve. Lowest cost and best keyboard with the e-mail feature make it the top choice as far as I can see. |

Hi ~ I have a Blackberry, I think it's an 8800(T-mobile) that is connected to all of my business email and contacts. I love it, it's great. Recently the company switched providers to Verizon (I don't really care for them for a variety of reasons) but I then got a Blackberry Storm which I find difficult to manage, to operate, to find applications in addition to the fact that it often shuts itself off for no reason. So while I love the 8800 that I still have with T-Mobile, I don't care for the Storm. The only other phone I would recommend is the iPhone but as far as I am aware you can only get it through at&t. The only reason I don't have an iPhone is because I live in Maine, and AT&T has lousy connections here. Good luck with your decision. Jim |

Guess I missed this first time around. I'm also on Verizon and wasn't willing to give up the carrier for ATT's inferior network. I got the Samsung Omnia and love it. I was due for a 2 yr upgrade and they happened to be running a special on Samsung phones, so I ended up getting it for free. John |

I love my Blackberry Curve. One key difference with the Storm is that the Storm has an integrated keyboard while the Curve is split like a computer's keyboard; i.e., numbers in one panel and letters in another. My son has an iPhone and loves it. It does seem better for web browsing but the Blackberry's ability to receive my work emails makes it my choice. I hope you try the keyboards for all three before you buy (visit the various mall phone stores) so you can see if one fits your hands and typing style better. |

Samsung Omnia has 8GB on board, plus it can handle an 8GB microSD card. I use it as an MP3 player, have it loaded up with a ton of audio, and am not anywhere near the 8GB capacity yet. John |

iphones are cool, but in my opinion overpriced. And typical Apple they have not made it work for more than one network. And I despise AT&T on so many levels. Blackberries are now outselling iphones. Get the blackberry you like. |

Glad you found the phone you liked. Just my 2 cents on the Storm, I have several personal friends who have gotten them and are not happy with them for various reasons. One even returned his, I think he went with the perl or curve, don't remember. But he's happy with it now. I've heard quite a few negative things about the storm. It seems like the coolest one out of all the berry's available, but also seems to be the one with the most issues. Even the rep at the verizon store told my buddy that they had had quite a few returns on it. I finally went over to ATT because I've been wanting the iphone. I was definitely nervous and took me forever to do it but now that I did, I don't see myself ever going back. I love this iphone. If verizon were to ever pick up the iphone, I would switch just because everyone I know is on verizon, otherwise I'm very happy with it. |

The storm sucks.its no comparison with the iphone w.r.t the touch screen. If you text a lot or send emails, the storm will jus drive you nuts. At work my friend got a storm and he just hates it. I tried sending a couple of mails and it was no fun. I got the 8900 blackberry 3 weeks back and love it. The keyboard is awesome.I have my yahoo and gmail accounts coming to it and its just so easy. I wanted to get the iphone, but the cost was what kept me back. I got 2 8900's for 100$ from tmobile. |

You should probably wait till June 12, which is when Apple will (hopefully) announce a new iPhone. If it does happen, the current iPhone might become cheaper. iPhone is the smartest phone out there.

Hey guys thanks for all the replies! @inman Well the big issue I have with the iPhone is less the cost of buying it (which sucks) and more the problem that they have ridiculously expensive contracts. There is just now way I'm going to spend $100 a month on a phone bill if a Blackberry will do nearly as good then the iPhone. Here my opinion after having it for a few days: The browser sucks. If you look to browse a lot, get an iPhone The e-mail is kick ass. Incredibly easy to install and FAST. My phone has the e-mail faster then my computer and the PC refreshes every minute. The keyboard is great. If you want to type a lot, the Curve is an excellent choice. Overall: Really cool phone at a great price! |

iphone is awesome, had mine for 6 months and it just gets better and the amount of apps is incredible. By the way as this is money making/IM forum if you want to generate some serious cash come up with an idea for an app/game get it made and get it on the app store, some companies/individuals creaming in the cash doing that.

I have an iPhone and it really is a great product. It's just awsome. I think that the iPhone is one of the smartest phones out there and it also has a nice design. I had a blackberry once but I don't.. the iPhone suites better to me. |

Just letting you know, if you get a phone with a good keyboard and a decent-sized screen, you can create documents, write webpages, create graphics etc. right on your phone! I have a HTC Touch Pro (the screeen is a bit small, but excellent keyboard) and I now do the majority of product creation, planning, web page editing, and promotion on my phone, not my computer (so I can take my work with my wherever I go). I went with a windows-mobile phone because I could buy FTP, graphics, mindmap and HTML editing software for it for my marketing business.... Just my 2 cents worth... Nick |
