Which is the best Antivirus?

Till date I was using Norton Internet Security Antivirus but now I think it has slowed down my computer these days. What is the best antivirus these days and does it offer trial period so that I can judge performance? Should I switch to other best option or should I still stick to Norton? Please give your advice. I value every suggestion.
