Cloak Companion - Anyone used it?

5 replies
Hi guys

With the Clickaudit/Firefox problem I am looking for a way to cloak and track my affiliate links in emails. Just came across Affiliate Link Generator - Hide and Track Your Affiliate URL Links with Cloak Companion (not an aff link)

Looks really good (especially for the price).

Anyone know anything about the product or who is behind it? Some outfit called 'Black Cat Technologies?' (If you say it quick it might give you cause for concern)!

Don't want to start using it only to find they disappear and I have to change all my links again.

Feedback anyone?

Roy

    Hi Roy,

    I guess I always feel why bother with a script like this, when you have full control yourself.

    Lets say the domain is :

    www.roysdoman.com

    Just make a directory such as "trusts" so

    www.roysdomain.com/trusts/

    Then set up subdirectories for each affiliate product with an index file in each so for example.

    www.roysdomain.com/trusts/megaproduct/index.html

    Then make your index file like this :

    <html>
    <head>
    <title></title>
    <meta name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow">
    <meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="0;
    URL=http://YOUR AFFILITE LINK HERE/">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"></head>
    </html>

    And away you go, no need for any software, you have full control, it cost you nothing and you can make your links be called whatever you want.

    Cheers
    SH

        Hi Roy,

        Good point, as I'm a CB whore, I of course simply use the TID tracking extension on the URL's in my redirects and then I can see in Clickbank what's working and what isn't.

        I'm presuming what ever affiliate network you use has some kind of tracking codes you can append to the standard affiliate URL.

        I guess..

        Sorry can't be much more help on that.
