I'm Firing Getresponse Autorepsonder Service

Hello,

I been using Getresponse service now a couple years now which is ok but now that I have products there is no way to hide the redirect link, anyone can lookup the source code and go directly to the download page.

I just got off the phone with Getresonse and they say there service can't hide the redirect links so when my term is over with them which you have to pay a year in advance they are fired.

I now have my own autoresponders, I know theres aweber and others but I what control of my own responders without paying anyone. I now have 4 of my own autoresponders, the one I really like is autoresponder unlimited, its really simple to use, doesn't show your sales links. more details here about autoresponder unlimited.

    Joe,
    Your post is confusing.

Whether you have your own autoresponder is not related to the issue at all.

You can share the download page link through the autoresponder, the "confirmation" page is what the name suggests. Or, you can encrypt the code in Javascript, a simple way to make it completely invisible for an average user.

You now control autoresponders without paying one? You'll see what that means when your host gets the first spam complaint, and when a big email service black lists you for the first time (for no apparent reason).

GR has some quirks - I always send my HTML emails in DUAL FORMAT.

I layout the HTML email the way I want it, paste it into the
editor as HTML code, then convert to text for the text emails.

I have never had a problem with the HTML links not appearing
as I want them to. Just use <a href="website.com">Click Here</a>
      and it works just fine.

Turn on "click tracking" and GR will modify the HTML code to
      track through their system.

A word of warning - if you send an HTML formatted email without
sending it as "dual format" with a text email as an alternate, the
HTML email will arrive with messed-up formatting - still readable
but tables are ignored for some reason.

I know the quirks of the system now and I just set emails
up so they work the way I want them to.

That's not always the case Intrepreneur. It depends from which email client you are reading the email.

Ok cool That means I'll have to go check my emails as well!
      Thanks for the heads up!

        Hi, Milan,

Having my own AR script fixed the related issue, you can't see the confirmation page when I use my own responder. Using Getresponse there no way to hide it, I did encrypt the code with the tool I have but it still showed the link.

As for spamming they must optin, I have different option how they do it and they can always unsubscribe. I'm still experimenting with all this testing 4 different scripts but right now I don't see a solution using getresponse service.

      Hey iddigger,

Take it from someone who has been there... DON'T use your own server and/or domain names if not using a commercial service for your autoresponder.

I worked for a sporting goods specialty operation, who did ONLY double opt-in from day 1. We only sent 2 emails a month (Bi-Weekly Actually) After a few months we ended up on a blacklist somewhere, and about 50% of the west coast would not get our newsletter e-mails. (Must be a bunch of that regions ISP's used that particular list ?)

We saw an instant drop in visits and conversions and it took me 6 months (no exageration) to get the problem resolved. Who knows how much lost revenue.

Suffice to say... we moved to a commercial e-mail provider for our e-mail list... but still did company e-mails in house.

I never wanna do that again.

Yea, you'r supposed to give them the download link via the email, not redirect them to it, you redirect them to a thank you page.

one thing I hate, is that you can't just have one field, like the email address, which sucks, aweber does though. I asked GR do to this about 6 months ago and they said they would add it to their next update, well, still no luck...

everyone in the marketing industry who does split tests know that having just the email field for visitor to enter increases opt-ins.
