I remember seeing complaints about this company YEARS ago. How are they still doing so well...or are they?

The agents are incompetent, the supervisor is "not in a position to do ANYthing", and they're slow as molasses. Rarely do I allow myself to get so bothered by a company I'm dealing with but I just gt off the phone with them for the fourth time in 3 days...and

Has anyone had good experiences with them as of late?

Unfortunately for me this past year I made the mistake of trying to deal with 1and1. I have dealt with several web hosts and domain service providers over the past 17 years but never again will I deal with 1and1. It was only a small domain name order...but somehow they managed to F it up.

Lol wow I almost placed a huge order with them couple of days ago. Thank god all my domain orders defaulted to "2 years subscription" and I was too lazy to change them 1 by 1 so I decided to go with another registrar instead.

I dropped 1&1 several years ago. I could not get them to stop billing my CC. I got so made I said screw it all and left the domains there as well. They can have them.

I go with namecheap and hostgator. Works for me.

I've had 70+ domains with them for 5+ years and never had any issues. I like the free privacy with the domains. This year, however, they raised the prices to $14.99 so I'll be slowly transferring them over to Namecheap going forward.

Best is to find a reliable provider for shared hosting accounts 1&1 wont provide any good support or service as there servers are overstuffed with unlimited package.. first we should learn to avoid provider offering unlimited hosting.. if you do you are asking for trouble.

This company has never been good. It had legit complaints a decade ago.

    Never use:
    - Godaddy
    - Yahoo
    - 1&1
    - the 50+ EIG brands, including Hostgator, Bluehost, Justhost, iPage, Fatcow, and a crapload others.

Find a better host. (example: Veerotech, Stablehost)

Yep, mine was a very small domain order as well. 17 years? So you would def know good from bad.

Hostgator for me too...for hosting. I've had no problem with godaddy for domain registration.

You could be right. On the other hand, i haven't tried many hosting companies so I can't attest to this 100%. I do know...one tends to get what they pay for in most cases.

Haven't had any problem with hostgator's customer service yet, but I'm still operating on a small scale so...
