My Phone Riches anyone?

I just got an email promoting a product called My Phone Riches by Charlie Parker. Anyone know anything about him or this product? It supposedly teaches you how to create and sell iPhone Apps.

    I've been trying to do a little research and one of my questions is do you have to have a license with Apple to allow the app to download on their iPhone, or can anyone with an iPhone download any app on there even if it is not owned by Apple? In looking through the current apps in the Apple Store there seem to be ones that are owned by Apple and others that are owned by others. So I guess those owned by others had to have gotten some kind of licensing agreement w/ Apple to be in the Store for an available download.
    It seems like an awesome idea, but want to make sure it is feasible. The price is not bad, so I may just buy it and see. If I do, I'll will write a review. But in the meantime, if anyone buys it first, let me know.

      Yep, I bought this a few hours back and I am extremely disappointed. First of all, the author seems to have very little knowledge in the software development process, languages and tools. (Ex: He calls Objective C as a 'facility' more than once in the book.) All he does is takes us through a bunch of screenshots on how to signup for iPhone developer program . The screenshots are taken on a Windows PC, so you know how much exposure the guy has when it comes to Mac development.

      Then there is some discussion on how to do market research for a potential application - As warrior forum members, we could have done a much better job at it. The book is filled with several screenshots, just to fill the pages. The author doesnt even seem to know the difference between Individual and corporate licences for iPhone App development.

      Then surprise of all, the last few pages contain information on how to make money with Adsense. I think this is the most useful information on the Book because if you follow his advise, you will finally go back to building websites with Adsense. I didnt bother to open the bonus materials as I dont want to waste anymore time on this. Please stay away from this. You are warned. If you do a one day google search on iPhone app development, you will get much of the information on this for free.

      I am filing for a refund now.

        Ha! sounds like a right load of bo11ox. First off to create iPhone apps you need to use XCode and iPhone SDK which (no surprise) only runs on OS X. You need to be pretty familiar with ObjectiveC to get anything up and running.

        As to one of the other posters mentioning third party apps yes this is allowed. You can get the iPhone SDK and tools for free (which comes with an iPhone simulator) but to actually put your apps on the device and submit them fro approval to the app store you have to join the developers programme which is $99 per year.

        If you really want to do iPhone development either hire someone to do it (as mentioned above) or if you have some programming knowledge buy yourself a decent book and really the best one on the market at the moment is 'Beginning iPhone Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK (Paperback)' by Dave Mark and Jeff LaMarche.

    I don't know about it but what I know is that iPhone is the device that every people love. Its apps are also getting popularity day by day. Developers of many apps are going for developing iPhone apps now.I found objectdevcorp.com/ who creat apps for iPhone and they did splendid job.

      Yes but again makes claims that 'anyone can do it' that simply is not true. The only way you have a fighting chance of doing an app if you have limited programming knowledge is to produce mobile content on a web page or you will have to go through the learning curve of ObjectiveC, Cocoa Touch, Quartz 2D, Open GL etc.

        I brainstormed with many smart engineers, marketers, and lawyers about this and bottom line is finding a good iPhone developer. That's how some of the top apps (like the Fart one from Joel Comm) were created...

      If anyone here wants to learn iPhone Programming, then please consider what the guys at EDUmobile.ORG are offering. Here's a quick note -

        I still believe anyone can do it - provided you have the right mindset and understand the mobile software market. You can hire very good programmers and market your product in a short time.

        But the info products on the market about this niche are not quite upto the mark. Not written with any actual experience of marketing a mobile phone app, they fail pathetically in conveying any useful information.

    I know about that guy. He sends me a bunch of stuff about marketing on the internet. His suggestions are generally pretty good. Have you come up with anything on the I-phone front yet?

    I am a new internet marketer myself so I am curious if you have any ideas.
