Anyone Plan On Buying Delta Squadron?

42 replies
I've been hearing alot of hype lately about this product that's supposed to be launched May 21st. Has anyone bought any of Michael Cheney's products before and were they any good?

I haven't bought a money making product in years but I plan on buying this one. It's supposed to be some good stuff, so I hear.

    Yeah, seriously dude.

    If you heard hype, then explain what the hype is?

    And you "suddenly" plan on buying after "YEARS"???

    Let's get serious here....well, since you won't let me break it down for ya.

    A. You jumped on the Affiliate BandWagon for Delta Squadron.
    (Obviously because you have the affiliate link in there)
    B. You ask people about hype & say you plan on buying it?
    --Well, I'd like to hear your reasons why.. You may know something we don't know.

    Seriously, all the BS plain & simply has to stop.
    I plan on outing anyone who tries to BS me & say things that make absolutely no sense.

      Is it against the forum rules to buy a product that I'm promoting in my sig? I didn't think so. I asked for an opinion on the product because I want to buy it. Damn right I hopped on the affiliate bandwagon and I'm going to ride it till the wheels fall off. I did signup by the way, thanks for your help.

      And thank you LarryC for saying the only thing that made sense.

    I got a few emails about this. Supposedly, it's already sold out. What made me hesitate -aside from the fact that it was gone before I got home today, lol- is that you only have to put up $1, but this includes a membership site that costs $97/month. The first 30 days are included, but you have to cancel or you'll be billed. Now I may be getting a little jaded, but how much new information can there be out there that's worth almost $100 monthly? Btw, the link that was in the original post is supposed to be a review site, but it was written before the product was released and is basically a rehashing of the sales page. I'd be curious to hear from anyone who actually bought the product. I'm sure it'll be available again soon. The "sold out" technique is sometimes part of the marketing strategy...wow, I am getting cynical.

    You're not being cynical Larry, you're being realistic- Can't say anything about the course or the content, but I've said this before in other posts and in other forums but-

    WATCH THE GURUS!

    Do what they DO, not what they SAY!

    It's sort of a hidden code, but actually is blatantly obvious if you know what you're looking for-

    The common marketing "tactics" - time running out; deadlines; limited quantities; having a "fire sale," a "tax" sale; a damaged merchandise sale; "flood sale" - Call it what you will, it's all marketing! (And I'm not criticizing it, I'm trying to highlight that what everybody here needs to do is go out and get some Dan Kennedy courses or something that will bring them quickly up to speed) - and Then, Again - DO what the Gurus DO - NOT what they SAY!

    I made my kids late for school so that I could buy it. I got it and even got some bonuses. I knew there would be a catch with the $1 thing and boy was there...a few hard sell OTO pages. Pricey too. I almost got one and had to clear my cache to get it out of my cart. I've been looking at a lot of his stuff lately and I think there's a lot of value in it. I haven't had a chance today to look at this program too much but so far it seems pretty good. I'll keep you posted as I get into it.

    I thought I'd invest the $1 to see what it was all about. Right now there are 18 videos to watch (12-44 minutes long, usually around 20 minutes) and an audio file. The videos are a documentary of the last launch (The Golden Thread, October 2008). He explains his principles and strategies and then shows how he implemented them.
    So, it's all about having your own product and launching it.

    For $1 it's very good value. There are more things to come, like live webcam sessions once a week, so that's what you'll get for the $97 he'll charge after the trial period.

    The claim of earning $1,000,000 in 7 days is a bit (well, more than a bit) misleading. He took that amount within the first seven days of launching his product, but then he worked for months on actually creating this product, organizing the prelaunch and networking like crazy.
    Also he has resources most of us have not, like full time staff, a huge list and an army of JV's.

    Anyway, if you have your own product, I would recommend this, as most of his tips are quite useful (at least for a month so you can watch the videos and see if you want to go on paying for the webcam sessions). Not sure if this makes sense for affiliate marketers.
    As I understand it, it's sold out already, but there's a waiting list for the next launch.

    Hope that helped a bit.

    Oh, and hello... I'm new to the forum ;-)

      I don't think selling out is what happened at all. It was a problem and he was forced to shut down by his payment processor. He said that himself. It looks like it was yet another big launch glitch. He shut it down to re-group.

    I almost got into Michael Cheney's Delta Squadron but when I check out the website, it was all sold out! I was a few hours too late.. One of the main reason I wanted to get it was because of Brian Johnson's bonus.

    Michael gave good videos during the prelaunch and when I saw the entry price of $1 and a recurring monthly of $97, I was quite surprised. When I visit the salespage a 2nd time a few hours later, it was all gone..

    I heard that there were some problems with payment processor or something.

          Although the recurring membership has been cancelled, I am sure there were tons of sales taken in on the one-time-offers. Merchant accounts have limits on the amount of sales that can be taken in within a certain time frame. This makes sense and explains the reasoning for the closing of Delta Squadron at the current moment. Michael has stated that this is only temporary. He has also stated that he will re-launch Delta Squadron again within a few weeks. This should add the recurring income back into the pockets of affiliates. Michael may actually charge for access to Delta Squadron once it is re-launched. Who knows...

    Yeah, the payment processor was a bit messed up and put out duplicate orders. But as a result the ones that got in don't have to pay the recurring billing. The downside is that the webcam sessions have been postponed.

    I imagine the gates will open quite soon again, so keep checking back and put yourself on the waiting list if you still want to get in.

    That's true, unless Mr Cheney thinks of something there. Also the question is how many would have stayed on after the trial. I don't think I would have (or will, should this free membership turn out to be untrue).

    I would like to give a little advice here and take it as you will. docmatt replied to this post with a comment stating the following:

    WATCH THE GURUS!

    Do what they DO, not what they SAY!

    In Internet Marketing, marketing changes with time. Although the same principles apply today as they had 100 years ago, we have to adapt with what is working now. The reason that the Gurus are making massive amounts of cash is due to them changing with the times. They also have built multi-million dollar businesses and have the money to test essential marketing strategies. If you are a beginning newbie, now is the time to begin watching what the GURUS do! I say this because as a beginner on the internet marketing scene, many have not made any money online and a very small percentage make a steady income each and every month. Without the money to test and track, marketing becomes obsolete. In essence, by watching what current GURUS are doing, you will learn what is working now. Areas to begin focusing attention on include how pre-launches are structured, emails sent during pre-launch, videos released during pre-launch, opt-in pages and copy structure to include headlines, overall opt-in page structure, redirection after opting in, and any live video webshows or teleseminars being conducted just to name a few. On launch day, take a look at the copy that sells the product and read it thoroughly. Notice how the copy flows -- What is the GURUS story? If you decide to purchase the product, and I suggests you do, notice what the sales process is. Analyze the complete sales process from salesletter through one-time offers to payment. Once you have completed payment, make note of the delivery of the product -- Is the product being offered through a membership site (most are today), or is it just a thank you page. Again, analyze everything and make a note of everything that comes to your attention. Although you will not see a lot of behind-the-scenes setup, you can get an overall view of how things progress through a major launch. This is just a small sampling of how you can learn from the gurus. Begin to pay attention and understand that the reason GURUS are using these strategies is due to the fact that they work.

    Yup, 'sold out' surely doesn't really apply here... True. Why else would he say on his website that he wouldn't do his webcam sessions (cashcasts or whatever) because there were not enough members to make them worthwhile?
    I was merely quoting the website with them big letters saying 'sold out'.

    I have to agree to John Hayes, you can actually learn a lot from this or any launch. If you just analyze the sales letter, emails and maybe make a list of different promotional stuff you see, there is a lot you can apply to your own internet enterprise.

      As much as I can see, Cheney's merchant account hit its limits probably through the upsells he provided. Once that happened, he had to close down the site and stop taking orders because his merchant couldn't handle any more requests. This is possibly why he used the words Sold Out on his site and would be my best assumption. As far as the cashcast go, his reasoning was there would not be enough participants to start them due to the error with his merchant account. He has then decided to postpone the cashcast for now. As I stated in previous post, Cheney has posted in the members area that he will be re-opening in a few weeks. It should be interesting what he does then. Now something that really showed his professionalism is that even though he Sold Out, he cancelled all recurring memberships and has provided all the Fast Action Bonuses to anyone who made it into the site. That was a good move on his part as the customers who purchased Delta Squadron got great value for $1 and also received bonuses that they were not suppose to receive. Again, as I said before, make note of how Cheney launched this product. You will gain a few tips and tricks.

    Having gone through Michael Cheney's Golden Thread program I will attest to his professionalism and ability to deliver. I also think he may have overstepped himself this time with the annoying upsells and technical glitches which really ticked a lot of people off. I am sure he is reeling from the snafus and will no doubt re-group and come back with a good product. Let's wait and see......

    I didnt buy it because it lacked credibility. Why? Because the story behind this launch was that the guy was penniless a few years ago and then turned things around. However doing a search on his bio and he's been a reasonably successful IM for many years so which story is straight?

      Uh, yeah right. You apparently haven't bought too many IM products from 'gurus' like this.

      To cancel you have to submit a support ticket. Here is the response to a request to cancel:

      =============
      Message to Delta Squadron:

      "Please cancel my account.

      Thanks."
      ====================

      Message back from Delta Squadron:

      "Hi,

      Sorry to hear you want to cancel. I know it can be frustrating just starting out.

      As you know - we are always here to help you in the Support Desk if you get stuck with any of the weekly step-by-step training from Michael.

      Plus every month you remain a member you are getting $47 worth of Delta Dollars that you can cash in, see here;

      Delta Dollars

      But not to worry - if you are still thinking of cancelling please watch this short video Michael's recorded for you;

      Thinking of Cancelling?

      Thanks,

      John
      Delta Squadron Support"

      ==============

      In other words, you're not cancelled even if you cancel.

      I haven't bothered to watch the video - someone else can do that - although I have sent these jokers a stern message referencing the FTC.

      So typical of the IM 'guru crowd'.

      Do I think it's worth a buck? Sure. Is it worth $97 a month? Not anywhere close IMHO.

    Before seeing this thread, I put up a buck to test drive Delta Squadron. It appears to be a "retread" of a 2008 product launch of Golden Thread by Michael Cheney.

    So far... I'm not impressed. Lot's of sizzle,... but where's the beef?

    Canceling: I've got a sneaky way of being in total control of a "trial period". I used PayPal "Plug Ins" that generate a One time use only Secure Credit Card #. After the initial one dollar payment was completed, I went into PayPal and closed the card.

    Now there's really not a choice to cancel my subscription.... they are not going to get paid either way... or... if it's really worth it, I will redo another secure card for another month...

    However.... from what I've seen, Delta Squadron is for newbies, not worth $97/mo and right now, I plan on cancelling.

        Using PayPal "secure" card option. Look for and click on the link titled "PayPal Plug-In".

        On the next page you will see a full description of how PayPal's secure card works. There's also an option to have PayPal plugin work with FireFox which makes online ordering a snap.

        IMPORTANT: Once the order is completed, make absolutely sure you go in and "Close" the card, otherwise the retailer can charge that card before the card's expiration date, which is usually the next month from the day you initially created the secure card.

        I hope you find this information helpful.

      Well... I painlessly canceled my $1 Delta Squadron "trial" membership today.

      I submitted a ticket and within about 90 minutes, I received an email confirming that my membership had been canceled. So kudo's go to Michael Cheney for incorporating a simple cancellation system.

      Unfortunately, Delta Squadron was more about the psychology of internet marketing and failed to provide any true step-by-step plans. Maybe those plans are added as I progess month-by-month at $97/month... I didn't feel like paying almost a $100 to find out.

      So is Delta Squadron worth $97 a month?... Unless you're a total Internet Marketing (IM) newbie who does not understand IM at all, and are interested in the general sales strategies of online marketing, then maybe... but for this struggling intermediate IM'er, it's not worth $97 a month.

      The Good: I thought the website was well designed and I really appreciated the fact that Michael Cheney went the extra mile to create Adobe PDF documents of the videos which allowed me to read the module much, much faster than having to sit through hours of videos.

      I hope you find this information helpful.
