Weebly Pro in HostGator - Is it Worth It?

Hi,

I just opened up an account with HostGator. I'm wondering if the Weebly Pro Sitebuilder is worth the $9 per month. I've worked hard on my seed capital, so I know I have enough money for it.
Is it really worth it, though? Are the Pro features really that great, and would I need them? I'm the type of guy who likes FULL customization of a site, so I think that the Pro might be a good fit.
Does anybody use it? What's your opinion?

Weebly is a nice platform when you are first starting out but given that you can set up a weebly account and have 10 sites for 2.99 a month I don't see how it is great value. If you are doing it for customers you can run it through a weebly reseller program and only get charged when you build a client site, which you just pass through.

That being said, while weebly is a great starter, I personally would learn and use a content management system that will give you much more control over look and feel. If you are doing this for yourself, take the time to learn wordpress, it is not that hard. If you are ambitious and want to get deeper into code, Drupal.

This being from a person that had no programming experience (and still dont), started out with Weebly and moved to wordpress and ecommerce, as well as learning Drupal right now...

i definitely agree with the above poster, i think you should focus on content management systems like wordpress. with wordpress you can do almost anything without the knowledge of coding

If you just want to go with Wordpress, try studiopress and the prose template.

I think you should take another look at Weebly, they've come a long way, and they just added complete ecommerce to the site along with new features they rolled out earlier. They offer pure css and html, which is great for designing your site any way you want on the backend and you can easily use it on the front end. SEO is great too if you use the right layout and how to get on the front pages of google. Everything is automatic, no widgets, expired plugins, etc. you're not on your own and you can start your business sooner. Weebly seems simple if you are just using the front end, but the coding is where all the designing takes place. Hope this helps!

    I wouldn't bother with Weebly.

After 3 years, I have no complaints with Weebly pro. I am pretty long in the tooth but if I was younger and had more patience to learn to handle something more functional then I probably would go for it but with my limited ability, I can't complain about Weebly.
