Default DLGuard?

I sell ebooks and would like to use some sort of download protection.

My concern is that whenever things become at all complicated for buyers, it boosts refund rates. Just to give one example, whenever I've made PDF files at all secure, there's always a few people who have the file display as gibberish, trigger virus scanning software, or something like that. What that means for me is so many support requests and refund requests that I've had to remove the security altogether.

So, for anyone who's used DLGuard, do you have any issues with:

1.) Increased refunds?
2.) Increased support requests from people who don't understand how to download your product?

If either 1 or 2 is a "yes," how much were they increased?

Thanks very much for your help!

John

It rarely increases refunds but it will increase customer service yes.

It's a solid product used by some of the biggest names in the fitness niche as one of the best options for securing your download page.

Of course it does nothing to stop people forwarding your e-book all over the net etc.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your reply. How much would you say it increases your customer service issues? Do 10% of buyers have trouble with the DLGuard? 20%? Some other percentage?

Thanks again,
John

Possibly 15% but I suspect 10% of those would have a problem even if you didn't have a protection system for your ebooks.

Some people don't even know what the hell Adobe Acrobat is.

My Customer support has gone down since using it.
I used a different delivery script before and people were always moaning that they hadnt recieved the download link etc.
I hardly have this problem at all now so i spend less time answering support emails

I use DLGuard for several products, and have an amazing performance, sometimes people contact me because they don't find the email, but this is because sometimes is on spam folder (even I add a note before the payment button), but people sometimes really don't read instructions, this is people fault not DLGuard.

Im sure this is one of the better software I ever buy.

I absolutely love DLGuard.

My refund requests actually went down.

I get about 1 request for help downloading the product out of 100,
but that's nothing compared to the value I'm getting.

Highly recommended

I have read somewhere that it's a Warrior member who own DLGuard.
Does any one know if it's any "Warrior discount"? []

IIRC, the person's name is Sam Stephens on the forum. Sorry, no discount these days.

I'm setting it up right now for testing. I'll let you know how it goes.

DLG is a super product.

Easy to install, great support if you need it.

I use it on my membership site and have found it to be 1st class.

Membership pages are easy to secure, new products are easily added.

10 /10 all round.

In a situation like this, it probably makes sense to go through the process of buying something from someone who uses DLGuard and see for yourself if it's a more complicated process or not. Odds are you'll probably conclude it's really not any more complicated.

Hi Folks,

I notice that Michael Greens Easy Download Protector seems to do all the things that DL Guard does AND also provides IP Abuse alerts (when the customer passes the download info to their chums).

And also includes a free installation.

Any Warrior thoughts/experiences/recommendations before I buy one or the other?

Thanks

Dave

Any suggestions using DL Guard?

Thanks,

Adam, you will need to create an entry for each download.

One entry will have your price (this is the download link you will use as well) and then add the other download product numbers to this one in the include section. The include (I don't remember what it is called off hand) section will allow you to list all products you want to include with this purchase. Just type in all the product numbers seperated by commas. They will all show up when the person purchases and is sent to the download.

Does that make sense?

Looks like I'm digging up an old thread here as my very first post.

Has anyone used DLGuard with multiple payment processors? Or does anyone know if you can use Paydotcom and their affiliate network along with DLGuard?

I've been searching all over the net but can't seem to find any answers to these questions. Thought I'd ask here before bothering Sam at DLGuard.

DLGuard supports a plethora of payment processors. As far as using more than one for a checkout... I'm not sure if that's an option. Just send a message to Sam Stephens, he can definitely answer any questions you have.
