I am checking out adblast the world to buy a list of targeted people who are single opt-in. Any one use this? Is it legit? Worth the time and $?
    Thanks.

I would not use ANY safelist. They are a lot of things, safe is not one of them. It only takes one bored attorney to be on that list, and your going to be out $20,000 + before you even have time to figure out what the heck happened to you. I don't know of hardly anyone who's used so called "safelists" for any period of time and not gotten totally kicked in the gonads for it.

But aren't these people involved in the safe lists added by themselves by double opt in? Thats what these companies claim and they guarentee this.

This is the meaning of "Safelists" which I found

"A safelist is a mailing list where all members can mail to each other. These emails cannot be considered as spam because every member has opted in and confirmed their email address. Joining a safelist will broaden your marketing campaigns. A safelist can be used to advertise websites, business opportunities and so forth. It's easy and convenient to use because all you have to do is save your ad and send it out with just one click."

Anyone used any safelists with success? I thought it would have been an effective form of email marketing.

That is what they say, but it's just not what my experience has been. I've never used a safelist myself because I've been scared off by the epxeriences of the people I know personally who have. Of the five people I know, 3 ended up getting sued. Like I said, it only takes one bored attorney being on the list.

Frank Kern actually talks about the same thing in his recent list building course too, so it's a common experience...not just me.

There ya have it. Private has not had any replies from using them, and my friends have, but they have been from lawyers. My granny always used to tell me that if it seemed too good to be true....................

I use safelists a lot and find them to be okay, they also have a confirmation that you have to do before you use them. One complaint that I have is people call and ask to be removed from the mail list. When you ask the if they use a safelist to advertise they do answer with yes. You then tell them that they have to remove themselves from the list. There is a remove button in the email that they received, and that it will remove them from that safelist completely.

They ask why, you explain to them that you only place ads there and they send them out to the list. They then understand better, this happens maybe 2-4 times a month. This has given me some new dealers as it was explained to them, as it is building a relationship also.

I've used safelists a lot over the last 5 years and have never had any problems whatsoever. I've even made some sales from visitors directed by safelist mailings. I'm not saying the response was great, and maybe not even worth my time, but there WAS response!

To take it a step up, own your own safelist. Go to a search engine and search for "adopt a safelist" and you'll find reasonably priced lists that you can run yourself. These usually have members already signed up and working. The advantage here is that, as the admin of the safelist, you can email the members' contact emails (not the free email they use to get the hundreds or thousands of safelist mail) with your ads. You may even be able to sell this opportunity to others. This is what some "solo ads" are.

And finally another step up is to own your own safelist blaster. In this case your members are safelists, or safelist owners, who you can then mail your ads out to as solo ads. You also have the ability to email every member of every safelist that belongs to your blaster.

If you're an experienced internet marketer already making a living, safelists probably aren't for you. If you're a beginner, however, or just don't have a big advertising budget, they CAN work with minimal cost.

Safelists are generally not worth the effort. The worst safelists bootstrap themselves with a single optin list ("Over 10,000 members!") to compel new signups which means you're delivering your URLs and domains to a big list of spamtraps and complainers - no good will come of it.
