Has anyone used ConstantContact.com for e-mail campaigns, mailing lists, or any of their other services?

Does anyone have alternative suggestions?

Thanks

I have never used constant contact. but it has the same feel as aweber. I think aweber is one of the best for list building, email campaigns, etc.

I have never used constantcontact, but it has a reputation of being difficult to master.

I've never used this but I've heard it is hard to get what you want when creating the email. I've heard some very positive things about iContact and Aweber however I have no personal experience with them...

      I have used both.

Constant Contact dumped me for "spam" to a targeted business to business list that we had built over time. It was at a company I worked for so it did not affect me personally.

I love Aweber now. The best feature, and one Constant Contact does not have, "but we're working on it", is to create and send a series of content to the list in a chronological order. This allows people to get email #1, then #2 and so on regardless of when they sign up.

In the IM space Aweber is one of the most popular email management system. However with constant contact you can import the leads that you got with offline campaigns or the ones you have in your internal CRM systems to run a campaign, which may not be possible with Aweber.

However there are other programs like Lyris, Silverpop, Infusionsoft ... the choice of the right system really depends on the volume of emails/campaigns that you are planning.

Constant contact is the wrong way to go IMHO. They only allow for 5 auto responders and reoccurring events. Go with something a robust email campaign software like contactology.

Some of the lists I am on use Email Aces. My comments are as a receiver of the messages - I haven't looked into using it myself. When I want to update my preferences, it doesn't allow me to change the email address, it only has update boxes for my first and last name. The only reason I want to change my preferences is so I can change my email address. Since I can't change my email address, I usually go back to the email message and click on the unsubscribe link. It seems to me that users of this software will lose a lot of subscribers because of this.
