Hay everyone

Just wondering if anybody knows when, or IF, GTT2 will be released?

The GTT forum is definitely not very active at the moment so I'm resorted to ask in here.

I bought the Black Hat Edition when it came out.

We (the early adopters) were promised monthly bonus audios that were never delivered

For the last 2 years, the owner keep promising delivery of V2 for X date,and again, and again, bla bla bla.

Sorry, but I can't trust his words anymore.

I dunno whats goin on, but to some people who bought, I think its goin to affect John's reputation a bit. I still think hes great, very knowledgeable, but yeh, would have been nice to hear from the company.

I've just been having a bit of a read on John's blog (johnreel.com) and I'm not exactly sure what happened but its obvious he's been going through some tough times.

On there he goes on about being rich at one stage then losing it all etc etc.

Hmmmm, now maybe that explains the delay with GTT2?!

Based on what he says in his blog ( John Reel’s Blog: Considering Outsourcing Development? and John Reel’s Blog: Since it’s going to come up… GoTryTHIS. ), it seems his development team was reassigned to other projects and that caused massive delays.

GoTryThis V1 is a 2006 (can't remember the launch month, but it was a big launch) product and when it go on sales, a free upgrade to V2 is promised. I have only just read the blog post about the history of GoTryThis, his problems and that his development team being re-assigned to other projects but, really, this is not my problem.

I might sound harsh for saying so... but, as a business owner, he has to be prepared to manage these impromptu problems.

But, the fact remains that it is now September 2008... a massive 20 months (at least) since the launch of GTT V1 and V2 is still nowhere in sight. However, I did see him released other products. Hence, it gave the idea that as V2 is supposed to be a free upgrade, it's not placed in as high a priority as other products. (Also note, the blog post mentioned above about the history of GTT is only made on 31st July 2008.)

This is mainly why he's lost his credibility and did harm to his reputation. And, I don't buy stuff from people with no credibility. No doubt he's a good programmer, but as a business owner, he's still got a long way to go...

I am an ower of Go Try This Black Hat edition. I am not a happy customer because

1. John initially promised to sell only limited number of Black Hat version of GTT, but he later sell more than he promised. I left a comment on his blog to question this, and it never got published.
Can you say that he is lying?

2. The software has got a lot of bugs. Although the support team is quite helpful, but I got tired of the bugs and always have to email for support.

3. other reasons that have been mentioned in this thread.

There's better script out there, go find it.

The monthly bonus audios were 2 months free and then a paid subscription service. After the first two months I decided not to continue with the paid service, and never charged anyone.

GoTryTHIS 2 was supposed to be a 2 month job finish an existing feature. It turned into a two year R&D marathon, with hundreds of thousands of dollars invested, and a few problems created by the huge expense.

In an effort to maintain integrity, it will still be a free upgrade once it is released. We thought that the release time was close a few times, and found issues in testing. The latest release is in testing now and seems stable, and able to handle millions of records snappily. We will be releasing it to selected beta testers soon.

When it is released, I hope I can gain back your trust!

Despite one poster's suggestion, there are no known bugs in GoTryTHIS. It was released after extensive testing by real users. Any bugs that were reported were quickly fixed, and new features have been released a few times for free.

I may be looking forward to GoTRyThis2 as long as it has all the BlueFart features.

What I really looked forward to is Gateway Magic. I know tehre is another service taht is almost identical but $47 fro Gateway is way better than the deakl the other guy has.

John, I hope you open up the doors again to Gateway Magic.

Incidentally, I still use it and have found it to be a solid, useful product without bugs. But, as far as I know, I was sold a limited release (in order to create scarcity) which was then back-tracked on. I'd like to think I am wrong about this...

I've been using GTT V1 since launch day and have never had any issues with it. No bugs I have ever found.

So the original buyers (like me) were sucked in with false scarcity. We were dumped on when he gave it to buyers of a 'high-priced training program' and then a 'few times' more when he was 'feeling generous.'

Then again, when he had spunked all of his money and had none left to do version 2, so he released it AGAIN, only this time throwing in a discount just to add insult to injury.

1) I did put an "out" in there that it would be sold in higher-priced packages, which I did once and accounted for some sales.

2) I sold returns.

3) When I wrote that I would only sell 1500 copies, I expected version 2 would be out in four months at the latest, and generating cash, but it was plagued with technical challenges and astronomically rising costs. That lead to a situation where I had to choose the lessor of two evils: Selling extra copies to pay for the completion of the development of version 2, keep my promise of a free upgrade, and continue free support, or shutting down development of that product. I made the decision that I thought was best for my customers, and was the least ethically challenged, considering that I did have the "out", which I hadn't been exercising, and would have put those copies out there anyway. With more foresight, I would have done that instead, but the situation became critical overnight without warning.

It was a decision I avoided and tried to work around for as long as I could. I understand that not everyone will appreciate it, and that is something I'll have to live with.

Also, for what it is worth, please note that the sale was 15 months after the initial sales of GoTryTHIS, and that I've invested MORE than the entire income from version 1 into version 2.

Again, I know not everyone will be happy with this, and I can only try my best to make it up to you with an awesome new version for free.

I can see from the salespage that you did include this out on there. It's just one of those things, like clever use of wording on continuity offers - there are multiple cases of wording to induce scarcity throughout the page, but only once, right at the bottom, does it mention the out.

Before I purchased, I never noticed that line. I just saw all of the wording that said stuff like -

There are some who mislead as a matter of course - with every launch, getting progressively more shady!

I am a fairly heavy version 1 user.
It has one big problem.

hen you have a lot of clicks on your links, it takes forever to log in.
Eventually you WILL be unable to log it at all.

I assume because the database is "full".
I thought that one install would be enough for all my tracking - it is not.
Now I cannot log i to my first install because it never loads (this is after hundreds of thousands of clicks to a few links).

So...... will this be addressed in GTT2?

Hi.

That was one of the big delays, when we had version 2 almost ready, or so I thought, and then loaded a million clicks of data in, and it wouldn't load either.

Since then, we've redesigned a bunch of things to improve that situation. As I write this post, I am currently stress testing an installation of GoTryTHIS 2, sending about 1200 clicks per minute to it, non-stop. Today I'm going to ask more people to help with that stress testing, so we can send it a few million clicks a day and see if it still loads.

In the meantime, in GTT1, may I suggest going into your database and manually deleting old data from the clicks table. Make a backup first, just in case.
